    The stripes represent a total rise of 1°C. That's all. If you were in a room and the temperature rose by 1° you wouldn't even notice, but this has taken place over 170 years. Climate propaganda. The starting point is rigged as well. 170 years ago there was the Little Ice Age. If you start there it's bound to show warming. If you started at 1AD or 500,000 BC you'd get completely different patterns. Also the pattern in the stripes shown is different to the pattern shown by CO2 concentration in the atmosphere, and the warming started prior to the supposed human induced changes.

      You should really understand better how climate works. You are repeating ignorant talking points you must have heard on Fox News (not this local station that actually knows what they are talking about) or something. When you consider that a 1°C change is happening on a global scale in a very short time it is actually a very significant change. As well, when you consider that climate change doesn't just mean an average change across the entire globe but means temperature extremes in different regions that are averaging out to 1°C warmer, it is a very significant change. As well, when you understand that increasing global average temperature can translate to the atmosphere holding a massively increased amount of moisture, leading to more severe storms of all kinds, it is a huge change that has devastating impacts. You say you are an old scientist. You sound like a scientist from the 3rd century because your comparison to temperature in a room rising by 1°C is a massive false equivalency that only a high school dropout could come up with. It also ignores the fact that for your tiny room you have climate control, so any change can easily be countered by adjusting a thermostat. Here's a suggestion. Go to college and learn about climate, or just read some actual scientific information about the topic instead of your right wing propaganda that feeds you lies that you can't even back up. Please explain away all the records being broken. Please explain away the massive fires burning huge portions of the earth and sending smoke clouds across thousands of miles. I've never experienced, nor even heard of clouds of smoke covering entire swaths of the continent such that I can't see the sun on a clear day as it approaches the horizon. And now it happens every year. I smell and breathe the smoke from fires burning in northern Canada from boreal forests burning because they are dying from pests and diseases that were never able to survive that far north before climates started shifting. Compare the USDA hardiness zone map and compare the recently released map to the one from only 12 years ago. The zones have shifted north by many miles. I was in 5b in 2012 and now I'm in 6a. It's changing very fast. Scientists have considered any example you can give of a little ice age, any historical data, and geological events. Nothing you can site that is an actual fact has not been taken into account, and the determination is that what is happening from us burning fossil fuel and releasing methane and other greenhouse gases is a huge and unprecedented problem. Maybe trust people who actually study this stuff for a living. What do you do for a living? Maybe I'll come over and if I have no knowledge or experience, I'll try to tell you how everything is done. And your right wing climate denial response is always "the earth's climate has always changed". NO IT HASN'T. NOT THIS FAST. Not without a massive extinction event. The climate has changed gradually over thousands or millions of years, not over 100 years unless a meteor struck the earth and caused massive extinction and climate change across the globe. Most living things, including humans, can't adapt to such rapid climate change. You just sound uneducated and I'm surprised you aren't embarrassed to comment the way you do.

      @winesap2 When it comes to fires, Global burned area has decreased by one quarter this century! The World is burning less. For the whole of Canada, there is no trend in burn acreage for the period 1980-2021. The previous highest burn acreage was in 1989. Over that same period the trend for number of fires was slightly downwards (CNFDB). Note that 2020 had the lowest recorded burn acreage and number of fires, so can that record be attributed to man-made climate change? And the fires of 2023 seem to have been largely started by arsonists. Burn acreage was much, much, higher in the US during the 1920's, 30's and 40's. It peaked in 1930 at well over 50,000,000 acres. The trend is downwards (1926-2020 NIFC US) eventhough CO2 has increased exponentially. For 2000 onwards the average burn acreage is much less than 10,000,000 acres. The number of fires has also declined. Remember CO2 was increasing all the time. Burn area for US in 2023 was 3rd lowest on record. It was under 3 million acres well below the ten year average of 7 million, the lowest since 1998 (NIFC), and 3% of the burn in the 1900s Data for Siberia seems harder to come by. However, for the period 1997-2016, the trend was highly variable (by a factor of 4) but the trend for the annual burn acreage was downwards (Global Fire Data). For the Amazon (2003-2019), 2010 was the record year for fire emissions with all subsequent years lower by at least ½. When it comes to wildfires there was nothing unusual about 2023 summer's fire season in Europe (look it up on the EFFIS website). The burned area was lower than 2021, 2022, and most of the 80's and 90's. In Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Greece 2023 was only the 20th highest in the modern satellite burnt acreage record going back to 1980. Besides all this the forest fire record in Southern Europe is related to the previous winter rains, not summer temperatures. Wetter winters encourage more plant grow, which forms more fuel for fires when it dries out. Mediterranean summers are always hot and dry enough to allow fires to spread. Furthermore, with regard to the IPCC, they have not detected or attributed the number of fires or the burn acreage to man-made climate change. Also IPCC only has medium confidence that weather conditions that promote wildfires (fire weather) have become more probable in southern Europe, northern Eurasia, the USA, and Australia over the last century. Note that annual Global Wildfire Carbon Emissions have been declining dramatically since 2003, with 2022 being the lowest on record (Copernicus). "With higher CO2, increased tree cover leads to reduced fire ignition and burned area, and provides a positive feedback to tree cover" (Chen et al, 2019), so burning fossil fuels actually leads to less forest fire! Global burned area has decreased by nearly by 24.2% in 20 years (Chen et al, 2023). The World is burning less! There is no climate crisis...there isn't even any evidence for it.

      @winesap2 You're right about the "averaging out to 1°C warmer". There is no "global" temperature trend. Excluding weather stations in urban or near urban areas, there is almost as much chance the temperature has gone up as gone down. There is in reality no such thing as a global temperature trend. The northerly latitudes are warming, but the southerly latitudes are cooling with little change in trend around the Equator (NOAA-STARv5 TLT & TMT 1979-2023).

    • @OldScientist
      @OldScientist 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @winesap2 The big problem for doomists is peak interglacial warmth is not now but around 8,000 years ago. Proxies show a downward trend to the present day but with an interruption for the Medieval Warm Period (that doomists aren't allowed to believe in) followed by a decent into the The Little Ice Age (which doomists think also didn't exist), and a very slight recovery to the present day still below MWP though. Now I know what you're going to say about the supposed rapid warming over the last century but that's not a fair comparison. That's instrumental - which is unreliable due to it poor spatial and temporally collection -with annual instrumental measurements compared with proxy data whose the resolution is 200 years. If we smooth out the current data over the last two centuries you'd be lucky to see ½ degree per century. Your rapid warming disappears, and a very large number of bicentennial periods over the last 16,500 years warm at a faster rate (than 0.5°C/century). And let's not forget the Dansgaard-Oeschger events. The Dansgaard-Oeschger events were global (Dima et al, 2018). One about 11,500 years ago, averaged annual temperatures on the Greenland ice sheet increased by around 8°C over 40 years, in three steps of five years, but a 5 °C change over 30-40 years is more common for these events. So shall we say a rate of change about 20°C per century. If that happened now you'd be foaming. But life carried on.

      @@OldScientist and what are your credentials for claiming to know more than the world’s climate scientists? Are you a flat earther too? Oil company scientists predicted anthropogenic climate change in the 70 and 80s but covered it up because they didn’t want it to hurt their profits. What’s the motivation behind the vast conspiracy you believe about climate change? Are there scientists buying new yachts with all the cash they’re raking in from studying climate? I learned about anthropogenic climate change almost 40 years ago and have watched the predicted effects of it appear and dramatically get worse. Any data you can list have been taken into account by climate scientists and they still predict that when you dump greenhouse gases into the atmosphere the earth’s average climate will warm. Your example of a room getting warmer is still wrong.

    Do you know why the Total Solar Eclipse 8 April 2024 is more exciting that is because NASA caught red handed. NASA is misleading the community by telling lies about the Total Solar Eclipse….! It has been totally described in Buddhist teachings how a Total Solar Eclipse phenomena is happening. Sun is very small comparing to the earth Sun’s diameter is 50 miles and it’s has approximately 650 miles circumference. And the Moon has a 49 miles diameter and approximately 250 miles circumference. When the Sun is covered totally by the Moon however Sun can’t be totally covered by the Moon because of the 1 mile difference between the diameters of each other. Ring of fire phenomena is occurred due to this Universal truth which is taught by the Lord Buddha. Finally, the most important things should be mentioned here, They as follows, 1.Sun is traveling very fast when it is in its straight ecliptic path and the Moon is comparatively slow when it is in its ecliptic straight path. 2.Sun is traveling very slow when it is taking the turn in its ecliptic path and the Moon is traveling very fast comparatively when it is taking the turn in its ecliptic path. 3.The Sun travels a figure of eight ecliptic path called Solar Analemma throughout a year and the Moon travels also a figure eight ecliptic path throughout a year called Moon Analemma. 4.Sun and Moon traveling up above 42,000 miles from the earth. 5. Sun and Moon always maintaining approximately 100 miles distances between each other when they are in their respective ecliptic path throughout a year, however this universal truth is coming to practical due to the phenomenon of that A Total Solar Eclipse can only be seen in a strip of approximately 100 miles. That’s why a Total Solar Eclipse is can’t be seen by people of all over the world It’s because of earth is very big comparatively to the Sun and Moon as I mentioned top of this comment.
