Trying the Breathing Mobile Washer for the first time
I bought the breathing mobile washer to see if it would be sufficient to wash our baby's diapers while we are away from the house this summer. This is my first test of the washer. Not entirely successful, but promising enough that we decided not to try to line up a plumber or electrician to install a washing machine in the office yet.
I will plan to post another video in October or November to recap our experience with the washer.

Unboxing Tertill
มุมมอง 633 ปีที่แล้ว
My first look at Tertill back in February. I've got two other videos on getting started with Tertill, and I plan to post at least one more in October or November to recap the summer and my impressions after a full season in the garden.
Getting ready for Tertill's first day
มุมมอง 1163 ปีที่แล้ว
Tertill needs a little help before it can get started. I weeded and leveled an area for Tertill and closed the area in with some junk boards and wooden stakes. It's not going to win any awards for aesthetics, but nobody is going to be around most of the time to see it anyway. Will it be enough for Tertill?
Tertill and the Breathing Mobile Washer: Two weird gizmos we're testing on our off-grid summer
มุมมอง 1343 ปีที่แล้ว
This summer we will be spending most of our nights away from home to be closer to the rental cottages we will be managing. This presents two problems: 1. How do we wash our baby's cloth diapers? 2. Who will weed our garden? Two potential answers: 1. The breathing mobile washer? It's a cheap little device which creates a suction action that forces soapy water through clothes (or diapers) in a bu...
Eat Your Weeds: Lambs Quarters
มุมมอง 734 ปีที่แล้ว
In earlier videos I mentioned a few edible lawn weeds. In this video I talk about Lambs Quarters, a weed that comes reliably in the compost we get from our county's recycling center. Rather than just weed the seedlings straight out I often let them grow a little bit, then harvest them for the table and the freezer.
Eat Your Lawn Part 2
มุมมอง 214 ปีที่แล้ว
Queen Anne's Lace is another great wild edible to harvest from your lawn in the spring! They are second-year plants, but they have not yet put too much energy from their roots into new growth. This year I tried to harvest all the biggest looking plants from the lawn before I mowed for the first time.

Making a Basement Paleo Workspace p8: Radon Saga: Electrician Cometh
มุมมอง 606 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a short update covering the completion of the installation of our radon remediation system. Wasn't done perfectly, but it's a lot better than having an extension cord running out the window. I also found one more leak I need to plug. Hopefully this fall I can get back to the fun stuff - my crazy new desk(s), lighting, and other toys to make as healthy a workspace as I can.
Making a Basement Paleo Workspace p7: Radon Saga Continues
มุมมอง 276 ปีที่แล้ว
Summer has been busy and I fell behind on my updates. In 7 minutes I do a very brief recap of our radon story, try a temporary drain plug while we wait for the pro to come back and finish his job, (it is a saga after all) and I briefly discuss the Airthings Wave smart radon monitor, which I plan to review more fully in another post. There will be at least one more post on the topic of radon. I'...
Making a Basement Paleo Workspace p6: TrafficMASTER laminate flooring
มุมมอง 2096 ปีที่แล้ว
A few tips and tricks for putting down TrafficMASTER laminate flooring. We did take a few risks the way that we're doing it, so we'll update if that backfires on us. As as side note, I'm falling way behind on my video updating. There is much more to come but it might be delayed further because summer is my busy season.
Air Layering Experiment Part 2 - Without Root Pods (bad angle...)
มุมมอง 4656 ปีที่แล้ว
Earlier this spring I began an attempt to make clones of four plants using Root Pods. I'll need a clone of one more honey berry to get fruits (they aren't self-fertile) so in this video I take my first crack at air layering the old fashioned way with a plastic bag, cling wrap, and tape. Unfortunately I was in a rush that day and you can't see a whole lot at the angle I was shooting.
Air Layering with Root Pods - First Attempt - Part 1
มุมมอง 2.4K6 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I begin my first attempt to try air layering with Root Pods - little plastic boxes designed specifically for air layering. I was not aware of air layering as a technique until I came across the Root Pod kickstarter campaign, but it is also possible to air layer with simpler materials like plastic bags and plastic wrap. I'm certainly not an expert in this process, but there is a we...
Barfoot Boot Saga Episode 5 - Rain Socks Unboxing
มุมมอง 7316 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is my unboxing and first impressions of Rain Socks, a rubber overshoe that I backed on Kickstarter in the hopes that I can wear them to improve the waterproofing of my otherwise favorite barefoot rain boot, the Feelmax Kuuva 2. The rain socks are disposable and made for city use over sneakers, so this will definitely be an off-label use.

Review: Radiant Saunas BSA6310 Rejuvenator
I have only tried mine out once so far, but it does NOT need so much force that you are going to make the handle flex...
Try a broom handle.
Danny Vendramini Neanderthal Predation Theory make a video with your opinion on his theory.
First of all, you put too many diapers into the wash. I have used the breathing mobile washer for years now and it cleans clothes better than any washing machine but you have to use it correctly. You also need to fill the wash and rinse pail up with more water than you did. Put a few diapers in a time and you will find the plunger so much easier to push up and down and, because the pail is not over-jammed with diapers, the wash water can actually circulate through the clothes. I find that this is a mistake that people make even with normal automatic washers. Clothes get clean by the soapy water being forced through the fibers of the material and this can't happen if you jam too many clothes into any washer. So just wash a few at a time in the pail, then remove to the rinse pail, add a few more diapers into the wash and keep going that way. You should also have at least 2 rinses. I use 5 gallon pails and I always fill the water to just a few inches below the rim of the pail. I also place the pail in the bathtub because you are going to get splashing. Hope this helps anyone trying to use this very useful breathing mobile washer.
Most men add too much soap for a bucket of water.
Thanks for sharing. We have used this washer for 2 yrs. It gets the job done. Soak your clothes in soap and hot water for at least 30 min before washing. Use enough water that the clothes swim a little. If you have to push hard, you need more water. Soak in vinegar overnight is good for diapers and stains.
It surprises me how few people realize that body odor is a symptom of poor skin health.
Nice
After the washer machine does the dirt still stay on the bottom?
Is there a switch to other languages and if so which ones?
I have been using a broom handle on this washer and it works much better. I was having back issues using the short handle. Half a bucket (3 gal. ) of water is all you need to 1 tsp. of concentrated laundry soap. For that many diapers, I would use a 15 gal. tote. Oh and 2 tbsp. of vinegar in the first rinse water will soften the clothes or diapers. Just an fyi!
I ordered these socks today. I also think that they look unusual))
It should have had a retractable aerating middle. That would have been awesome. Like a pogo stick.
If the handle is bending/warping, your pushing way too hard. The action of the wash wand is that it forces the water and soap up through the clothes and I believe the instructions say that you should use enough water to go up the large wand to 3/4. Too much water doesn't help. I've been using mine weekly for almost 3 yrs. now and I love it. You may want to use vinegar in the rinse to soften the diapers. Epsom salts also works, about 2 tblsps. ;)
Oh thankyou for this 🙏
Can I use them just as socks and wear a normal shoe on the top of it ? I asked this question because I met with an accident few years ago and went on a foot surgery, I need a really thick socks to support the base of the foot. In India I cannot enter into any of the holy places with shoes on, but can enter with socks on, so was just wondering if this product can be a solution for me. Thanks.
Thanks! Was worried about the smell.
I’ve grown to understand modern shoes are not designed to suit the long term health of yo ur foot’s natural shape
your idea has been something that I have also thought about a decent amount as well. I have desired to have a screen that is somewhat like a pair of glasses that can be worn and is only operated by a keyboard much like the handheld one you show here. the only thing the device would do is what the alphasmart can do though. nice review
Thank you for your thoughts… I started off with Vibram Fivefingers too, many years ago. These rugged socky things looks pretty cool. I am wondering, how long did they last before getting holes in the soles?
i can see these used as second shoes for camp when your are lightweight hiking.
Just bought some, exactly for that. I wear boots when I am hiking, so they should be great for going in and out the tent (rather than boots)
@@milesbettah968 Exactly that. Nothing quite as annoying as putting your wet boots back on for a toilet break!
Thank you. I am about to buy one from Lowe's online. My other Infrared Sauna died after 2 years of use twice a day.
Hi there. I unboxed mine today and noticed a few differences to the promotional videos I saw on the device. I noticed a dimpled texture on the solar cell rather than smooth hard clear surface. Wondering if it needs to be peeled off or it's ment to remain on. Nothing in the instructions about it. I'm concerned it might reducing sunlight. Is yours the same?
I bought 3 BLACK buckets (5gal.). The black get hotter in the sun. Then I fill the buckets about 1/2 full (leaves room for clothes) early in the morning, check that they remain in full sun (I cover buckets with black trash bags to hold in heat.) By later in the morning/afternoon, you have warm to medium hot water (for free). Presoak clothes for a while to get them the cleanest.
Your channel has that calm and serene atmosphere.. may the algorithm pick you up 😂👍❤️
What detergent did you use to have had that much suds?
I was looking at those for light bak up shoe, but they resemble those rubberised gardening gloves, and those don't breathe at all. I use merrell minimalist shoes, bit heavier but way better option
I like the Sauner
Root pods 2 for $24 compared to root balls 12 for $10. The snap is nice but is it really worth all that money?
regarding the "clammy feet" ... i get that, even when just wearing socks i've got super warm feet in general, and so it's near unavoidable, unless i wear nothing at all. But... i'm not a fan of sharp rocks, or bare foot on the coarse asphalt, etc.
No
Just bought these on amazon, can confirm, they don't breathe at all.
Just curious do these Kickstarter companies offer refunds ? If we don't like it?
Have you seen the 2.0 version? Did they send you any for a review? Would love to see you review them as well and compare them.
6min of pretty much nothing.
Thank you very much
Any recent endeavours in to new barefoot boots? I know Xero have just released a new model this year.
Can you fly with them ears?
Wondering if this is still holding up well a couple years later. Also, out of curiosity, why didnt' you lay down a plastic vapor barrier?
Literally just a pair of form fitting socks placed over a mannequins foot then dipped into a liquid rubber
Good for rock climbing maybe?
Amazing! Thank you for this video
That green and black thing is weird. That other thing is an AlphaSmart Neo.
One of the most helpful reviews I ever came across on TH-cam. Thanks Charlie! From now on I will only search for reviews with couple of months of usage..
If you are still reading comments, I am looking for a video that shows how to fold up the darn thing when you want to put it away.
Just stitch some thin rubber onto the sole of your sock lol
Slick review, thanks for the service
Update?
Heartbroken that they are out of business. It was a fantastic device. Mine still works, but will be sad if it breaks and can't be replaced.
Heck of an electrician you got there...
How high of a temperature does it get and how long does it take to get to the highest temp?
