I would highly recommend the audiobook of "The Weight of Blood" because of the podcast format the novel is in.

Never thought I would be commenting about this but here we go😂 In my country we changed pur clocks in the beginning of spring then changed them back at the beginning of autumn and EVERYBODY hated it so after years of some part of the coutry doing it and some parts not doing it and a lot of issues of people saying "old time", "new time" they changed the rules and we don't do ot anymore but our phones still automatically change and after 2 years of not changing...we have realised that the change actually was better and helped us function way better😂

I think 1 long episode a month could work. That way the three of you can still see each other and hang out, and at the risk of sounding selfish, we can still receive content 😬 (also it’ll give us a chance to hear/watch the House of Flame and Shadow ep if you decide to record one)

The sequel defiantly makes the story stronger and is worth the read

Podcasts like this is hard to watch and listen to because 2/3 of you guys are hating the entire time of this book. I appreciate the opinion but at the same time, there has to be at least one thing you guys liked about the book that you could have mentioned because if you hated the thing you wouldn’t have finished the book and let alone read the 2nd one. Dark romance isn’t for the faint hearted and I get that but at the same time I promised myself I wasn’t going to read haunting Adeline but that was before I got into the dark romance genre of book and read 5 books right before haunting Adeline and I fell in love with the idea of haunting Adeline. Now I agree there was a lot of detailed information that wasn’t needed but this book series was actually really good.

I FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE GMA STORY SO U COULD COMPARE IT TO ADDIE AND ZADE. like I feel like when she started thinking her stalker was hot they had to relate it cause Addie she is staying in the great grandmother's house. which not important but gave u someway to relate the characters.

The Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh bit had me cackling 🤣 And I totally agree with all the House of the Dragon comparisons. My book club picked this as our read for the month, so I was happy to see this episode drop! We're jumping straight to the sequel, so I'm curious how we'll compare the two

Haven't read Parallel but Elizabeth O'roark is such an underrated romance author IMO

I gave the third book 3 stars because I didn't like some details. BUT everything that was build since the first book comes together and a lot of things start to make sense! Maybe continue (Erica maybe you should skip it because this series doesn't match your taste😂❤)

I loved this book but the Netflix show... oh dear. I watched the first episode and I was FURIOUS. What a bad adaptation! I have a video saying all my reasons why the book's way better but it's in Spanish 😅

This book originally took place in the UK. I read the first book and it said Fairview and then I was confused when I read the second book and it took place in “Little Kilton” lol 😂 They changed it for the US prints

Ok here’s a book that involves “time travel” that I recently listened to and loved. Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. It’s a thriller and I listened to it in 3 days lol. I was hooked!

You guys should definitely read book 3 of The Bridge Kingdom! It changes pov every 2 books and it slaps. I listen to you guys while I clean and am at the gym and it literally makes my day.

Oh I also really did not like the audio… its was just not it. I think i put it on 1.75 or 2x speed and it was… okay but definitely not amazing, which was disappointing but I still liked the book itself.

Favorite romance movie has to be About Time with Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson

I can only handle the age gap when it's in a fantasy book. Other than that, I tend to avoid them. It's not a great trope, in my opinion.

I hate when authors make their MC casual readers- it feels like a cheap ploy to ingratiate the MC to the reader.

I had 0 interest in the movie, but I love hearing you guys talk about the drama. It is so weird to use a press tour about a DV movie to promote your personal side projects. I don’t think I have ever seen anything with Blake Lively, so to me, it feels like she is trying to ride on Ryan Reynolds’ coat tails and try to replicate his success while doing it poorly. It’s weird since I generally get the vibe that Ryan is a good dude, so she can’t be terrible, but she puts off such a wanna be demanding everyone bow to her that I am fully out on her.

I read the book back when I was in high school before it exploded in popularity. I was so shocked when I realized it wasn't a romance book. I didn't think it was too bad of a book, but the DV really surprised me. I saw the movie a few days after it was released (I had a free ticket to any movie viewing of my choice from my theater), I was fully expecting a mid-tier movie, like 5/10. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how well it was produced, I ended up crying in the theater (and I don't cry easily), so without all this drama crap, I'd give it a solid 7/10 even despite the glaring issues. But I feel like the Blake/Justin drama has really soured the movie overall. If only people who did this for a living actually did their homework and put in the effort to give it even halfway decent PR and marketing, and given Blake PR training for DV, this movie could have stood pretty well on it's own.

Taking tropes and filling the plot around the tropes was basically Powerless for me 😅 I swear, she did a grab bag of tropes she wanted to see then wrote out from there.

My favorite niche trope is when the main character dies. Like, they make the ultimate heroic sacrifice. Idk I just love it.

Murderbot diaries would be a fun one to read. Each book is so short- read the first one and go from there. I think you would enjoy it. Also, the audiobook narrator is great.

I'm so glad you guys touched on all the things I disliked about this book. Didn't even notice the time jump plot hole but that definitely doesn't improve my rating of the book. 'Not caring for his writing style' is so on point. Michaelides has a MA in screenwriting so that's probably why he writes in that 'telling instead of showing' way- which might have been bearable if this book had some semblance of plot going for it.
