3-day BWCA trip | 7 lakes, brutal portages, rampant loons | Poplar to Ross Lake
Join us on our first trip into northern Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness as we paddle to seven remote lakes connected by brutal portages from entry point 49 off the Gunflint Trail.
Enjoy the incredible scenery of the Canadian Shield with spectacular sunsets and sunrises, rugged outcrops and cliffs, endless boreal forest, and sparkling clean water.
We fish for small mouth bass to fry over the camp fire, brave punishing portages plagued with mud and boulders, film quintessential Minnesota wildlife including loons, forage for edible berries and mushrooms, and explore many campsites on this adventure-packed three-day BWCAW outing.
Lakes canoed include Poplar Lake, Skipper Lake, Little Rush Lake, Rush Lake, Banadad Lake, Sebeka Lake, and Ross Lake.

Awesome adventure, shots look great! What camera are you using?
Thanks for watching! This was mostly shot with iPhone13 actually.
That's a gorgeous pair of canoes you have there. Beauty video. Thanks for stopping by Rockwood! Love the morning on Day 2 - 10:30 - so quiet so nice.
I take it you are associated with Rockwood? :) Thanks for watching!
@@kreativeventures bought it 10 years ago!
What a great purchase, congratulations on 10 years in business! If you ever have an idea to collaborate on anything with my new channel here, let me know.
Very nice!!
Its super neat to see the burn area growing back so lusciously!
Buena aventura 👍
You were stuck in something called a strainer. With current, it let's small things through but pins everything else. Glad you guys are ok.
A strainer, that fits the bill alright! Thanks for the good wishes and for watching. Hope you'll check out some of my other videos too! Hope to make more after next season. Take care.
The best and most fun part is the small rapids as you enter the St. Croix river. Always tie an extra paddle the thwarts.
Oh I thought the Rum emptied into the Mississippi in Anoka? Haven't done that portion, thanks for the tip! I hope you'll consider subscribing and checking out my new video on BWCA I hope to have posted tomorrow. Happy ventures!
Nice kayak! Beautiful scenery.
Thanks for lending me the kayak! Let me know if you see any good deals on them.
I mean, she kinda HAD to say yes...on a cliff, 8 miles in 😂 Beautiful and fantastic! 🤩 Congratulations you guys!! 💖💍
Impressive!
