    Hello 😁, Thank you for your interesting and very clear presentation. From a time series of wave heights, I need to calculate horizontal wave velocity and insert it in the Morison equation… for a certain time and depth, with these calculations I get wave velocity at different position along the wavelength… which one should I consider ? Should I do the integral of the horizontal velocity ? Thank you again ! 😁

    Hello 😀Thank you, very interesting. So is it possible to use Morison equation to calculate the force on offshore wind turbine piles ? The diameter is large though (18 m), but considering a wavelenght (L) of 200 m the ratio D/L is still below the threshold value of 0.2

    Looking at the graphs with the loads as a function of time. What x value have you chosen? I plotted it and I get very similar looking graph for the drag force. But I dont get it for the inertia force. Inertia force is mirrored.

    • @StudyTips4U
      @StudyTips4U ปีที่แล้ว

      On x axis I have time, plot is done for 2 periods. Inertia force should be the same as I show in my plot. If not then you probably have an error in calcs

      @@StudyTips4U 62.2sin(k*x-sigma*t). I understand that you put t on the x-axis. But what is your value for x? If you put x = 1 for example, the function is 62.2sin(k-sigma*t). That is what I did for the record. So yes, I would be interested in how you plot it.

    • @StudyTips4U
      @StudyTips4U ปีที่แล้ว

      @Keepitsimple2 x is a single fixed position, at that position you calculate force as a wave passes this point, you can assume x=0
