The "Shield of Faith" we must used to defend our faith from the evil one.

Our final night of VBS started out with God's Word, then a parade, a cookout and then WET AND WILD ending! Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make our VBS enriched and exciting!

Pastor Daniels' message today is based on the book of John 1:19-28 when John is approached by those from Jerusalem wanting to know "Who are you? John does not say who he is but who he is not! Identity crisis? Surely not! How about you ..... Who are you?

"Rejoice" is the topic for today! Imagine how John the Baptist rejoiced the day he baptized Jesus! Even facing his own death John rejoiced as he turned to his Lord for assurance and strength. We too are able to rejoice in all trails and struggles in this life because we have that assurance that Jesus is our loving Savior and will deliver us from all these things.

God gave us the gift of our Savior in a stable on Christmas and through this precious gift we can find comfort knowing that no matter how bad things in our earthly life can get .... as Christians we have the comfort and reassurance knowing that Jesus loves us and is preparing us for His return.

Today Pastor Daniels talks about expectations? Our expectations for our daily lives doesn't always measure up for us. Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on the back of donkey did not meet the expectations of those awaiting their King's arrival. His humble birth in a stable was the beginning of God's plan to give us a gracious and humble Savior to follow when our expectations are met and when they are ...

In this morning's Gospel lesson in the book of Mark ..... Jesus says, STAY AWAKE! None of us know the day or the time He will return ..... so we must be aware and ready so that He does not come and find us unprepared and asleep.

What is true and what is not? Today Pastor Daniels speaks on world truth verses God's truth. There are many world truths, but according to God's Word these are not truths at all.

Pastor Daniels this morning speaks on our sinfulness (Mark 10:46-52). Sin knows no boundaries .... Satan is constantly at work tempting and testing us to fall into sinfulness. No matter how often we fall into sin ..... Christ is always there to open our eyes to remind us of His love for us.

Pastor Daniels focuses on the 3rd Article of the Apostle's Creed "we cannot save ourselves". Our faith in God the Father, Son and Holy spirit can save us.

Pastor Daniels speaks of laws this morning .... which we are all guilty of breaking from time to time. God also gave us laws, the commandments to follow. No we cannot keep these all on our own ..... only with and through God's love when He gifted us with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
