Our Christmas Display 2024 after the Lake Effect Snow Band.
This is our Christmas Display with the ground being white, This video had to be quick because It was freezing outside, but I hope you enjoyed a look at our Christmas display. If you look at the beginning of the video, some of the accumulated snow melted on the pavement after I took a push broom to it without ice melting chemicals or anything like that.

It seems like the first signs of winter have occurred in Southeast Michigan, About a half inch of measurable snow accumulated before melting away in a few hours as it gradually tapered off due to the loss of lake effect snow showers off of Lake Michigan. It wasn't cold enough to accumulate on the pavement as it was 50 degrees with rain one day before it snowed. Of course Love it or hate it, win...

How to Install Speechify Tom on Newer VirtualBox Versions 2024 WORKING!!!
This came in due to a strong wind that blew earlier today which is why it snowed as heavily as it did when it traveled from Lake Michigan all the way to the location in which this was filmed.
Those Black circles on the first map are overcast symbols as I learned from my Weather Forecasting class I am almost done taking in college as a Gen Ed. The arrows are the wind direction, I couldn't find one with station models that I could edit and I was too lazy to construct them. So I ended up using this Black and White Weather Map instead which was the only weather map that I can edit for this timeline. I Will most likely use that same website for future EAS Scenarios involving severe weather. If you want to use a surface weather map for your EAS Scenarios, you can use the same map by clicking the link below. NOTE: the scrolling on the final news report is very slow but still readable. The Weather map used for this scenario: www.izhuk.com/painter/weather_map/ I know about using the arrow in the circle along with temperature and dew point to make a station model, but I just wanted to use the map for the frontal systems. temperatures and of course labeling the air masses ahead and behind the fronts.
call 911 next time
We Did Call them, and it turns out they were down the street responding to a tree fire in the power lines.
@ Ah
@@SodiumInduction-hv After this was filmed we even talked to the firefighters who told us that the fire down the street was the cause of our transformer failing as they were securing the scene while waiting for DTE to arrive to the scene to shut off any lines that might still be energized. About a Month ago, They Installed 2 reclosers on separate poles which should hopefully prevent this from happening ever again as the reclosers should help protect the new transformer from failure in the future. Despite negative comments being directed towards them, they have excellent linemen when you need them in emergency situations.
@ interesting. i’m an in-training lineman with firstenergy.
@@SodiumInduction-hv They knew that the only way to prevent another catastrophic failure was to install reclosers. Which is why they were installed on both sides of the distribution lines that feed this transformer. They are programmed to self clear the fault 3 times before shutting off the entire distribution line to prevent catastrophic failure or a extremely dangerous situation like what happened last summer.
Oil?
Yes that's oil and it's a highly flammable coolant that is used in many transformers which normally keeps them from overheating. With this failure, the oil ended up overheating due to a nearby power line being damaged leading to explosive smoke pouring out of it. I've seen videos on similar explosions with active flames. Luckily this one did not produce flames since power was cut by the blown fuses before it could end up producing flames
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Nicely put together! Keep 'em coming!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! More to come!
Note: Wind Chill Advisory and Wind Chill Warning are Replaced with Cold Advisory and Extreme Cold Warning Due to changes in the NWS this winter which takes effect on 10/1/2024. I Will Not Be Using the Cold Advisory in this Video There is a dropout in the audio on the Severe Thunderstorm Warning near the End of the Message where it repeats the Message before the tone. I apologize for that error on my part.
Are the cold advisory and extreme cold warning real
@@CarrieUnderwoodsandSabsBigFan Yes, There's information on the national weather service website, you can google "new cold weather products national weather service"
@@EASandSevereWeatherAddict I never knew that
@@EASandSevereWeatherAddictthis reminds that time back in 2011 October when snow in october in northeast
@@jamesthecool2560 I also remembered this event in which it led to cold weather and lake effect snow flurries in Michigan. It was called the Halloween Superstorm which grazed me with snow flurries which were also mixed with rain showers while the Northeast got hammered by heavy lake effect snow and gusty winds. I was 7 years old when that storm occurred and it was miserable even when I was only grazed by snow flurries while my hands were hurting from the wind chills when I went trick or treating that year.
I really do like this radio.

the time of power being restored was actually 4:30PM for the grid power on Campus, not 3:30PM And the flood advisory was issued for this torrential rainfall event

Largest lightning bolt occurs at 7:24 which lit up the entire sky like it was daytime.
This was uploaded when I ran my Computer off generator power and there was soot all over the cars in the driveway. A few minutes after this was posted, a plume of smoke from the tree that caught fire came wafting at me while I was outside to make sure that the transformer doesn't catch fire. If you look to the left you can see the same power lines that sagged at the end of the storm video have drooped down to their lowest point when it failed.
Sorry about it cutting off but What I said was that the brownout was occurring for about 4 hours and If you notice that at the end of the storm the power lines began to slowly sag lower and lower until a tree down the street caught fire due to the sagging power lines which then ended up causing the transformer to begin billowing smoke. I ran into the house and shut all of the breakers off as it was the end of brownout and the beginning of a blackout with the house lights being extremely dim. We called 911 and then we called DTE to report the transformer failure which ended up on the outage map as soon as the DTE guy left after taking the report and inspecting the Transformer. He said that it definitely needs to be replaced because all of the oil is pretty much gone inside it and he ended up making us first priority that same morning I took the final look at the transformer. The problem has been solved as of this evening. The video on the storm begins showing the sagging when the storm was getting near the end and I began looking around the yard for signs of damage. If you want to see the transformer billowing out smoke I also have a video on that as it occurred.
Fuse Explodes at 1:09 It was very loud when I witnessed it in person. As for this transformer He's dead Jim. 🤣 As to the question of will it restart There's no way it would restart after getting charred like that. Explosion even said to Mr. lineman that It's Dead. Now That's an epic transformer fault.
The Power went completely out 4 hours later and now I'm running on generator power after the transformer blew up in our yard. There was Also a Tornado a Few miles north of the area that failed to get warned by the National Weather Service. The DTE tech agreed with me with how the storm should have had a warning from the weather service in which there should have both been a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado warning for the same storm. The news outlets said that this storm should have been warned for severe weather and I heard no alert tones or anything This was how it became a dangerous situation very quickly. I now know what caused that initial outage during the storm and it must have been the tree down the street from my house which might've had branches laying across the wires which may have caused the fire. Power Lines start sagging at 9:30 which is what led to the tree catching fire. Look carefully at the two wires below the top wire at the end of this video and you will see them gradually begin to sag down from 9:30 to 17:37. It Came in like a Lion and Out like a Lamb. If you listen carefully at the end you can hear some generators running due to the brownout that occurred from the sagging wires. You have to turn the volume up to hear the generators in the background.
The Wind Risk has now increased to an isolated 45% as of 12:30 PM EDT. All threats are now classified as high risk and should be taken seriously. UPDATE: as of 4:10PM EDT, The slight risk for tomorrow has been upgraded to an enhanced risk with a higher chance of tornadoes in the EF-2 or greater category.
The day 1 outlook has been updated, Make sure to check the storm prediction center frequently for any updates to any of the severe weather outlooks. The day 1 outlook now includes an extension to the enhanced risk with an extension to the hail probability into Texas. If you hear a tornado siren, Make sure to seek shelter immediately since some tornadoes could be rain wrapped. Do not attempt to film a tornadic event unless you are an experienced storm chaser that has the necessary equipment and training to safely document any tornadic events that may occur with severe thunderstorms.
If the final message sounds like 500 degrees has not been reported. I meant that 500 degrees has now been reported across the globe.
