Dude. I make videos for fun I have like all of 170 subs. I'm not really hitting with the big timers lol. I also haven't posted in like months. I'm not really worried about losing subs. I'm retired and make what's on my mind when it's on my mind. Like in all seriousness I might get back into it at some point down the line but more than likely this is just going to be my tiny little corner of the internet where I rant and rave.

@@TiredTimelord That's totally fine. But seeing your channel really main focus has been Star Trek themed. I think it would be better to create another channel that is focused on other topics like politics. Politics is a divisive subject. Star Trek has a fan base of both Democrat and Republicans, and other political views. Star Trek has Biden supporters and Trump supporters.. You can support whoever you want but parsing ones views and make fun of someone's candidate when your channel has always been Star Trek themed might not be the best subject to touch on such a diverse franchise such as Star Trek. I like your channel. I watch your videos to get away from politics and enjoy Star Trek.

Thanks! I haven't really made anything in a couple of months but I was really pumping them out there for a little bit. I loved using legacy to collect footage. We really need a new Star Trek inspired game but Star Trek online is currently holding everything back I think. Legacy is such a great game though it holds up even today

If that was true, the romulans should never have any cloaking devices until the 2260s, which is in the 23rd century (T.O.S era), besides they should have some nuclear weapons or something!

@@zshah3107 They still had Nukes in the 2260s. They were intended as self-destruct charges but could be, and were in at least one case were, still used as weapons.

@@justinhammer3196 They did have FTL. It's just that it was very slow by Starfleet standards in the mid 23rd century. The Romulans didn't use matter-antimatter reactors and used Fusion Engines. This resulted in slower speeds than what the Constitution class was capable of. In the mid 22nd century however, Romulan FTL drives were sufficient for the era despite being fusion based. Remember the Enterprise in TOS was able to go faster than light using the Impulse Engines in "Where no man has gone before" but far slower than what it could accomplish with the Warp Engines. Going by this logic, when Scotty says the Romulan's "power is simple impulse" it means that they are limited in much the same way, still able to travel at FTL speeds, just not as fast as the Enterprise and it's Warp Drive. Obviously, the nature of Warp and Impulse Engines became more fleshed out in later media with Impulse being Sublight only. This wasn't the case in TOS.

This has been somewhat retconned by Star Trek Enterprise. But the use of nuclear weapons and primitive starships can still work as Earth had to fall back upon more mature technologies to make any headway.

@@richardched6085 Well, first of all: 'retconning' is an impossibility; so no, it hasn't, as any and all "retconning" is ipso-facto null and void, and also noncanonical in and of itself.

@@chissstardestroyer what I meant is that the description Spock gave in "Balance of Terror" in TOS regarding the Earth Romulan War isn't necessarily incompatible with Star Trek Enterprise even though it might seem so on a surface level. Going by purely canon official anything, we have very little concrete information about the specifics of the Earth Romulan War. This very video uses mostly beta canon (beta canon referring to secondary officially licensed works like novels) sources and conjecture.

@@richardched6085 Yeah, and the biggest clue to your defense really is that data could easily be lost in any war. He did say that not much data on the conflict remains. Novels that're sold with royalty contracts are canon, you're either canon or you're not; there aren't degrees thereof; it is either positive or negative; simple as that.

@@chissstardestroyer data wasn't lost on the Earth Romulan War. It was lost on the Eugenics Wars. Beta canon is effectively non-canon. I wasn't disagreeing with you lol.

The T'Liss class shared it's name with the Bird of Prey from Balance of Terror. But they were 2 different classes. The 2260s T'Liss is a successor to the 22nd century Romulan Bird of Prey (called a T'Varo in Star Trek Online).

@@richardched6085 Well, therein the "Star Trek Online" is worthless, as the earlier established canon is automatically the valid one in any conflict at all. The two models are at most different models of the same kind of ship regarding purposes and intent; the T'Liss is really therefore an upgraded "destroyer/interceptor" from that one, simple as that.

@@chissstardestroyer to be fair, the Drone ship is only called a "modified Warbird" in canon. It never had the name "T'Liss" in purely canonical works. Only the 23rd century Bird of Prey has that honor. The Bird of Prey from the 22nd century is nameless.

@@richardched6085 Yeah, and the T'Liss class was the model that showed up primarily in "Balance of Terror" yet those ships were used in the background in the Romulan War; the reason is simple: they didn't want to use their most advanced ships in combat- it is not their way- too risky for their best equipment. "Never show your true strength" and all that argument.

@@tommymitchell2306 I appreciate that. I haven't uploaded in a while. I'm medically retired and have a lot of time on my hands and end up going through phases where I will do the same thing for a while to keep myself busy. So a might watch all of one series for example like Star Trek which is what happened here and then I started making videos and then I kind of stopped making videos for a while. But I'm sure eventually the want to come back and make more videos will hit. It's just a cycle and I got to wait for the wave of productivity to hit me. I appreciate the sub. It might be slow going though. I'm thinking about getting back into doing some derp Trek soon. I have a couple ideas for some. I have to finish reviewing the entirety of Star Trek. I'm still in the original movies and I still have several series to do reviews for.

Another fan who gets news from the view

This is gameplay from Star Trek Legacy a PC space Sim from 2006. Highly recommend it if your interested in setting up random battles and watching them play out. The storyline is alright but really modded and setting up your own battles is the best part of the game.
