This is brilliant 🇬🇧😎🇬🇧 thank you for uploading all these they're brilliant 🤷♀️😊😄
Thanks for this 😊 am enjoying it so much ....😊
I remember reading somewhere that cotton crop blues was like the first metal sounding riff
I'm surprised there's no mention of Charlie feathers
Wasn’t “Twenty Flight Rock” by Gene Vincent?
This is sooooooo great. Are there any vinyl collections that come close to this playlist?
Outstanding video!
I had to look up "proto-punk" because this hodgepodge selection didn't make any sense. Well, it seems that is a category made up by hack "music critics" to try to sound important. I heard most of these back in the day and no one would have classed them all together.
Because proto genres are where the beginnings of a full fledged genre take root. No one would ever call something proto punk because at the time actual punk didn't exist but a lot of the trends seen in punk would start here. When Jazz was first taking root it was just another form of blues. It wasn't called jazz until later.
BTW SWE i am❤❤❤
Btw, Lady i am

According to Bowie and Mick Ronson. Vince Taylor was where Ziggy Syardust came from. Cheers from Montreal .
Stardust.
🤘
Came here to make sure Johnny Burnette was included. Great list, thanks!
Blows me away how I'd think (or read/hear) that some artist was so innovative, only to find that there was similar music prior to their fame. These guys fed the "innovators" of the 60's/70's and on. I just found out today that there was Arthur Lee from a band called "Love" whose fashion and music gave Hendrix a fair amount of his look and some of his sound.
United States FOREVER❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ GOD BLESS AMERICA ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
And I thought "The Who" were the first "Punk" band, I stand corrected.
Mostly sick Rockabilly, psychotic, warped, deranged, twisted, fkdup hillbilly 1950s & early 60s R&R. Contributing to juvenile delinquency, acohol & reefer abuse & teen pregnancies, ,,,I Diiiiig it !!! 😎👍
No Little Richard? Just a bunch of white boys
Whoa, awesome!
Awesome collection. I'll have to listen to more of these in full. Can you make a similar video for 1965-1971?
Ah, the pre-fuzz era. I would have included "Shaking All Over" by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates. Kinks are there deservedly, but the Beatles cover of "Money" and their own "I Saw Her Standing There" from 1963 were pretty raucous for the time.
Only thing these have in common is low fidelity and tubes. I couldn't hold out for the trashmen. Thats proto punk ha 63 just hit. nothing here is heavy. Not even
THANK YOU for putting this together.
This is mostly rockabilly, but what would you consider the "Hardest" from this timespan that are Doo-Wop/R&B?
Baby, she's gone, Jack Scott
I'm sure you're familiar with Robert Williams and the Groovers . If not, you should check out Cranberry Blues (Side A) and Loud Mufflers (Side B) - Tip Top (Tips Music Productions/ASCAP)
How many of these did the cramps cover 😊
Cherokee dance was covered by canned heat
Wow! A whole pocket of 50s/60s rock I didn’t even know about. Its like they had their version of alternative rock back then. Gives me something new to explore. Thanks!
Easily "Any Way You Want It" by The Dave Clark Five - 1964. Not sure how anyone could miss it.
I was born in 1950 & lucky for me my parents kept radio tuned that went to rock and roll mid 50's, so I literally grew up with the stuff. Great collection, many I'd never heard of, like Hasil. Surprised you put in regional Pac NW US band the Sonics & their hit "The Witch"... They would come down from Seattle from time to time and play teen dances
Great information here. Probably the best TH-cam video I have seen in a long time.
Excellent list. I might add Lorna by Adrian Lloyd and Bop-A-Lena by Ronnie Self.
Link Wray is a really great guitarist
Green Onions! Love this song!
The end of that vidéo stay stiff😅😵💫🥴😂
Glad to see The Ready Men on there. I do think this Vince Taylor recording deserves some recognition: th-cam.com/video/1JKsAsUm7Fw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MU7f_2dTIrhoMYRj
Whose number is that 'Hocus pocus I'm gonna bring my baby back'...? 🕵🏻🤔
"Green Onions" did you actually take yourself serious then?
The Beatles said they wanted to go to America to see bands like this. The Mid West wild Punk bands. The 13Th floor elevators and Rocky Erickson could have been in this Video.
Cut off the Kinks too early before the punkiest part
Great browse through history. I would have placed Rosalyn by The Pretty Things for 1964, especially since it predates The Kinks and The Sonics.
Johnny Burnette “Tear it Up” 1956. C’mon.
What the fuck is the title of second track!?
This is some great music! I remember listening to a lot of this stuff with my father when I was a little kid in the 70’s. Link Wray is my favorite and I love the Phantom and Hasil Adkins as well as Duane Eddy.
2:07 2:00 50 rockabilly skulaa. Jerppa the Rebel...!... 🎉🎉😂😮❤🎉😂😅😊😊🎉❤❤😂🎉❤❤❤❤❤😮😮😅🎉🎉🎉❤❤😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Considering the songs included, here’s others I would have included: (yes I included cover songs because it should be based off the sound) -Rumble by Link Wray 1958 -My Bonnie and When The Saints Going Marching In by Tony Sheridan & The Beatles 1961 -Mule Train Stomp by Roy Buchanan 1961 -The House Of The Rising Sun by The Animals 1964 -All Day And All Of The Night by The Kinks 1964 Around And Around by The Rolling Stones 1964 There was also a Country song with distorted bass but I forgot what
