Ohio Stump Removal Columbus Ohio
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 ก.ย. 2013
Getting a chance to practice snow removal.
This is from 2 years back, where we got the chance to practice snow removal with our CASE 1816C.
Blacktop is a bit easier to scrape that a gravel driveway. With gravel there a balance of scooping too shallow (and leaving behind unwanted snow) or too deep (and scooping up dirt and gravel).
We used this skid steer mostly for scooping up stump grinding debris and lifting heavy logs into our dump bed truck.

Removing stump debris.

We ground up 2 large stumps with our Vermeer SC1102 stump grinder and were asked to remove the debris (the stump grindings). Shoveling debris get tiring really quick.... we have a saying that, each shovel full is heavier than the last one. Our CASE 1825B skid steer makes debris removal a lot easier. On this day removed about 3,000 pounds of debris. We take the grindings to a local pig farmer wh...
Ohio Stump Removal: Grinding a 5 foot wide stump with our Vermeer SC1102.
มุมมอง 324 หลายเดือนก่อน
Grinding a 5 foot wide stump with our Vermeer SC1102. We named this grinder Frankenstein because it needed a good bit of TLC when we got it. This our most powerful machine, so we were able to grind this 5 foot wide stump in less than 30 minutes. We serve the greater Columbus, Ohio area. God bless.
Turning the compost pile.
มุมมอง 224ปีที่แล้ว
We've done a good bit of chipping in the last few weeks and we've acquired "about" 10 tons of wood chips which we are now composting. That means that microbes are busy munching on the carbon in the wood and the nitrogen in the greens and if given a bit more time to percollate, it will turn into some really good garden soil. The pile is steaming a bit and is about 120 degrees towards the center,...
Just some creative tinkering with a previous video about using our CASE 1825B

I did some creative tinkering with the previous video about the footage of our CASE 1825B at work recently. We used it to move about 10 tons of dirt this week. Thank you Lord Jesus for this blessing.

Moving some dirt and debris.
มุมมอง 148ปีที่แล้ว
This job had a huge dirt mound of about 25 feet in diameter around the stump. We brought our 1825B to move a few tons of dirt and debris here and there. The reason that Joshua is making wide turns as he moves around the yard is because tight turns tear the yard up (bad). The 1825 could spin around easily enough but that would leave the yard looking like a plowed field (very bad). We managed to ...
Removing 2 sets of concrete stairs.
มุมมอง 59ปีที่แล้ว
We got to use the 1825B again yesterday to remove 2 sets of concrete stairs. We had to cut these stairs up a bit before loading because the stairs were too wide to fit in the truck and they exceeded the 900 pound rated lift capacity of our skid steer. My guess is that the stairs tipped the scales above 1,500 pounds each.
This is a repost of an earlier video with a bit of music added.

This is a repost of a video we posted earlier but with a bit of music added. We adjusted the video length a bit to fit the music. We removed about 2,000 Lbs of debris (stump grindings) for someone we ground out a stump for. We thank The Lord for our skid steer because when you're shoveling debris, each shovel full is heavier than the last (that's just science).
We got to use the SC1102 today. Thank you Lord Jesus for this blessing.

Cutting a 6 foot wide stump with the SC1102 today. We found some steel cable wrapped up in the bearing earlier so we spent about an hour cutting the cable free from the bearing. We also replaced a number of cutting teeth before we did this job as the teeth get dull or damaged over time. We had to stop the grinding head a few times to shove all the wood chips to the side. Thank you Lord Jesus fo...
Removing about 2,000 Lbs of stump debris.
มุมมอง 782ปีที่แล้ว
Especially when we grind unusually large stumps, it will leave a large amount of debris (often measured in tons). A cubic yard of dirt weighs just about 2,000 pounds, so removing it by hand might take a little while. Around our house we say that every shovel full is heavier than the last one (that's just science), but once removed the only thing left is to add a few inches of clean topsoil and ...
Running two grinders on Friday, the SC1102 and the RG66.

Doing a big job on Friday, so we're running 2 grinders. This one is the SC1102.
Using the CASE 1816 skid steer tp remove debris from a stump that we ground up.
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
We try to get each bucket full as full as we can (without spilling). The stump was about 50 inches in diameter and was on top of a mound that rose about 18 inches above grade. This left a huge pile of debris (mixture of dirt and wood chips) and we removed about 4 tons of debris. We've occasionally removed debris with buckets and shovels and we learned that each shovel full of debris is heavier ...
Our dynamic duo... loading up the dump bed with debris.
มุมมอง 848ปีที่แล้ว
The dump bed on our F-250 and our skid steer make quite the dynamic duo. We don't use them everyday but when we do they are invaluable for removing a lot of heavy debris from a job. If you've ever loaded / unloaded a ton (or two) of dirt by hand, you know why we say that. On this job, we removed about 4 tons of debris. Thank you Lord Jesus for this blessing.

Good luck out there. I wish I had snow to play in. Working on making a snow blaster, FR! Stay well friend.
I can’t believe these guys are sticking their hands into this thing. Plus they appear to be wearing gloves which you should never do. Have an M&M chipper and it is deadly.
Thanks, what size grinder wheel ,type of wheel?
Add teeth....
i had one just like it
How does the 1825 do on turf? You seem to do a really good job taking gentle turns but I’m interested in one but don’t want it to shred grass.
What rpms were you running? Cause that thing is a beast
Nice chipper!
Looks like a chipper more brand
How well do they cut after resharpening compared to the factory edge?? I've just begun resharpening my first batch of green teeth and I've killed one old 1/2hp Chinese grinder and another new 1/3 hp WEN grinder.
Hard to forget those chuck and ducks. Knew they were spun up when the drum was humming. Keep the blades sharp and they'll spit chips like nobody's business. Let them get dull or put a bit too much in, belts are gonna get to smoking quick with a stuck drum. After that it was slack the belts, roll the drum back. Dislodge what the blade but into but didn't shear off. Sharpen the blades to get any problem nicks out, replace the blade if it's got a dark line coming off a chip.
Looks very much like my Wayne chipper from around 1974. Discharge chute almost identical. You have the newer style “V” shaped apron.
What size cutting wheel do you recommend to use on a 500 series cutting head
I been lookin for 1 of these for sale
Great video. About how many times can you resharpen greenteeth 900 series teeth? Thanks for your time
Thanks
I wish I was there helping I would definitely go through that s*** real fast I grew up using one of them awesome piece of equipment
Thank you kindly.
Real nice mitts & Merrill you got there. Looks like an M-7. 12 knife configuration. Don’t see those around much anymore.
Thank you kindly, It's an older chipper but it still works pretty well.
Looking forward to seeing more vids of this beast in action.
I'd like to see more about that drum. That's an interesting looking arrangement.
thanks for sharing brother
Thank you kindly Adam.
I have a '99 Mitts 16" dia rotor with Perkins diesel. Would love to find a manual. I previously owned a 75 Mitts way back with a 6 cyl. Ford. That was 16" too. Best one for centrifugal force chipping.
Nice color. Try touching the clutch engagement 3 or 4 times and let go at 1/3rd speed. Then fully engage with some momentum going on. Do you have a manual by any chance.? Looks like you have a 16" dia drum which is the only good one.
Looks like the old Woodchuck chipper I am working on now
Wondering if you ever needed to find parts for yours I have a 78’ and am searching?
I replaced the Funk PTO with a Stein PTO when the toggle over center linkage broke. The engine is a 300 cid, Ford CSG649, straight 6 industrial engine. The knives can be purchased from Bailey's Online. The wedges and bolts for the knives might be a bit hard to find.
Nice chipper. Shame M&M quit manufacturing those. Those are my favorite of the chuck N duck type chippers. Look forward to seeing more of this beast in the future.
It's come in handy many times and it does great job chipping but we treat it with respect. It's a sobering experience to get whacked by a gnarly tree limb as it makes the jump to lightspeed flying past your head.
