Some of that art is pretty cool though. The colours of salvation mountain against the azure blue sky is pretty spectacular!

Hay bales are used for dust mitigation. There is a study that shows once the SS dries up the alkaline dust will basically wipe out vegetation for miles leeward of the prevailing wind, including all of Palm Springs and surrounding areas.
I also read that they hope the bales will create conditions for plant growth. Fingers crossed 🤞
@@TheTimeIsNowAdventures The SS was the result of water diversion, but that water was needed south of there so its source was cut off. There have been several political attempts to once again divert water to fix and refresh the SS but the need for water elsewhere always trumps the efforts. It is such an unforgiving climate and the level of salinity in the soil left behind as it dries make plant growth a (forgive the pun) but a tough row to hoe.
The story of the Salton Sea history and continuing saga is a true environmental tragedy.
Yes, it's very sad. The birds are coming back slowly, so that's a small step in the right direction.

Hello, not trying to be rude but as a property owner there please don’t trespass. To drive your bike right up onto someone’s property where there is a no trespassing sign in the background? And the Fanny Mine is still owned and gets upset about people trespassing also, hence the no trespassing sign on the gate you climbed over. You should visit when all of the shops are open, the Purple Onion has some really good food and the museum is really informative. Great video though.

@@TheTimeIsNowAdventures I know a couple that went the exact opposite direction from truck camper to a C class. I don't think there is a perfect setup, unless you have a bottomless pit of $$, so you have to try all the methods. I am sure with he right attitude you will make what ever setup you try work!
Everyone travels differently, and what's right for us now isn't necessarily right forever. We're still keeping the class C for now. 👍

Love the Verde River flood plain below these ruins. The tree canopy is so lush. I have read that a reason many pueblo dweller skeletons showed signs of drastic tooth wear was the use of the stone tools to grind corn & beans. The food after grinding had absorbed pieces of stone sediment that wore down teeth during chewing. After a few decades........ you can imagine the effect.
I actually wondered about all the stone being ground into their food. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching.
