Small engine oil - your questions answered!
is the flow always on or only on when spraying aka without an agitator as he has mentioned, it was done by the liquid supply/return. basically can the machine "agitate" without spraying?
why is the background music so loud? it is annoying when trying to listen to the important information the speaker is delivering.
Could I run scag high lift blades on my grasshopper and will throw wet grass better?
I have a similar one on my Patriot. Love it. I only wish it was easier to remove for homeowners like myself.
I have a 600 sq ft 104 year old log cabin. Current direct vent Empire freestanding propane heater is vented out the top of the cabin. Can I vent this out the roof too? It's a lofted ceiling, approx 12' ceiling.
The Toyotomi heaters do have a flue extension available, which would allow you to bring the stack very close to the ceiling, but will have to vent sideways through the wall. I recommend contacting your local dealer, they may have a better solution.
Wilson Walk
Can it mow in the rain?
Of course, every Scag mower gives an exceptional cut even in the rain. Also, electric motors actually give quite a bit of torque.
Getting forward on getting one of these machines for our businesses
Glad to hear it! It's a great choice, let us know how it worked out.
I need a manual on how to run the digital meter.
You can find instructions and diagrams about the Tiger Eye in the manual for any Scag Product that comes with the Tiger Eye. This link should help you out. www.scag.com/manual-parts-list/

Very nice. What do you think the slope/grade on that embankment is?
I am actually not too sure. But I believe this is beyond Wright's recommended maximum grade :).
@@KPMExceptional thanks.
We may purchase a 731 and are venting in a corner. Can I have the vent pipe turned where the intake is on top and the exhaust pipe on the side?
The vent kit is round and contains the intake and exhaust. There shouldn't be a need to have the exhaust on the side. But if you have more information we would love to help out.
@@KPMExceptionalthanks for the response. The 731/732 will replace our old monitor 441 and to use that same hole in the wall for the vent. I’ll have to turn the flue pipe to have the exhaust and L shape pipe lay horizontal. I will cap the bottom intake and use the top intake. From the technical, side I see no issue as venting directly through is also an option. The laser 30 model has this layout as standard in their manual online. Figure 10 and 11. Your opinion would be great to read! I’m remote and will have to do it myself.
@@Tony_AKUT Beginning at the 2:54 min mark of the video, it will specifically walk you through the Toyotomi vent Kits and mounting into the corner of a room. As long as you have the intake hosed hooked to one of the intake connections on the vent kit and the exhaust is venting outside, we see no issues! Many customers directly replace Monitor units with the Toyotomi unit so installation should be very simple!
@@KPMExceptionalthank you! I appreciate that confirmation. I also found from the manufacturer info that you can have the flue pipe exhaust port turned to 3,6, or 9 o’clock. All will work. Never higher than that to not cause a negative exhaust risk. FYI if anyone else is reading this.
It’s a beast I got one when they first came out lol cost a couple bucks to get it serviced I had to change oil spark plug and filter it doesn’t make that pop anymore when I shut it down
Glad to hear it! It is certainly a beast commercial 21 inch!
Looks like a well built machine
It sure is. Scag has always made quality mowers - the Jackal is no different.
These girls are thick. I used a consumer grade Husky for 7 years that was 24 hp and 54” deck. I moved up to a Skag Tiger-Cat II with a 52” deck and the same hp. On paper, that’s a slightly smaller mower. I noticed immediately that the trailer felt different and my Jeep was squatting noticeably more with the Skag than with the Husky. I looked it up and noticed that the Skag was 100 lbs shy of weighing TWICE what the Husky did!
The Turf Tiger II is a thick girl. Drive shaft operated and low center of gravity means she is large and in charge.
Moving everything back moves the center gravity back and makes the front light. That doesn't seem like a benefit to me. My turf tiger has weights on the front end to keep it down. Seems like way should be being moved forward to keep the front tires down. Moving the weight back improves traction of the drive tires but it also reduces the incline the machine can climb before the front tire come out the ground.
You’re right about reduced climbing ability due to the front coming up. However, I believe that in the aggregate - for most yards - it’s a better design with the seat and the overall CG moved towards the rear. The reason I say this is that it tremendously improves side hilling performance. My old ZT (Husky) with a comically forward CG would straight up climb a wall. However, it was totally useless cutting perpendicular to a slope. On my Tiger-Cat II I have to be more careful going straight up our bank as the front will lift if I make too jerky of a movement on the sticks, but the side hill performance is incredible. It matches my old Husky but the Husky had tire chains (added because it was helpless otherwise). That’s another story- yes you can run tire chains on a ZT without tearing up your grass.
@@failranch9542 I can see your point. I just never mowed sideways on hills step enough to cause the front to slide because cg is forward. Putting cg between rear tires may allow better side hill control. This is my first 0 turn. I've always used high center of gravity tractors. Straight up and down hills and only down once the front starts getting light climbing. The fix to climb stepper hill, add more forward weight. Just bought a caterpillar powered turf tiger with 116 hours on it. It's a mowing machine. I'll try it on the side of a hill soon enough.
Can you get a mulching blade along with an engine guard for the Scag 21 inch mower. In some of the videos of the machine I've seen from Scag, there is a black engine guard handle in front of the engine much like you see on the commercial Toro 21 inch. Thanks.
The blade included with the SFC21 is a 3 in 1 blade - meaning it can mulch. Scag does not make a dedicated mulching blade for the SFC21 at this time. There is an engine guard for the SFC21 - part number 926G. Hope this helps!
@@KPMExceptional Thanks for the response. This is a great help. Are there preset holes on the deck of the 21 inch Scag that the engine guard just bolts into? Thank You.
@@joeraptor1 Yes, there are preset holes near the front of the deck, right by the front tires.
Does it have a marker, or do you have to use dye.
Its does have a foam marker - part number 9612.
What is the scag part number for the strong blade for the 38hp kawi motor on a vride 2 xl 52”? Thank you
For any motor above 31HP Scag recommends part number 482881.
What angle is the eliminator blade sharpened at? Thanks
@@SteveO2030 All Scag blades are sharpened at a 30 degree angle.
Thank you. Good to know. I was told the eliminator blade was 35° for outside and 20° for the inside on the mulch blade.
how long would a laser 730 run on 50 gals of diesel in a typical oregon winter (not alaska)? I know there are several variables, just looking for an estimated usage.
Hi @HomeAccentStudio, unfortunately there are just too many variables to give an estimate. I suggest talking to a Toyotomi dealer and letting them know your situation and they should be able to give an estimate.
I love my scag 21".
Please. I need help installing the mulch plug. How do you do it? Either I have the wrong mulch plug or my brain's not working. Please help me out.
At about the 1:38 minute mark we show installing the mulch plug. Just requires a little elbow grease to get it all the way in place.
Looks like they didn’t make the controls higher for taller operators. I bought another brand because I was too tall for the v-ride 2 and hate the cut quality. I was hoping to go back to Scag, but won’t be able to.
Sorry to hear that - most Scag users swear by the cut quality of a V-Ride II.
@@KPMExceptional sorry my post wasn’t clear, the other brand I went with that my Scag dealer also sells (JD) has horrible cut quality. I love the cut quality on my sit down Scags
I just bought a scag 52” -24 scag engine I love it
Dixie hydro went down…..borrowed a stander for about 6 months…..feet were killing me standing up all day…..finally got the parts for the 20 plus year old Dixie deisel 60 Yanmar now my feet don’t kill me from standing all day again. Anything will wear you out …..that being said both have their advantages…sit down and stand up…….ill sit down for the normal cutting …..back yards will be on a stand up……that will be my set up. Gonna purchase the Scag V-ride 2 36 in the next few months to replace a slower 36” Bunton hydro walk behind. This will be perfect for me and my set up. I’m so glad I bought the deisel chopper back in the day hour meter went out about 8000 hrs years ago and to this day it fires up and purrs like a kitten….. it’s out lasted 3 gassers machines I’ve owned over the years and still to this day going stronger than ever…..yanmar makes a FANTASTIC deisel engine 👍😎👍
Nice, the 36 V-Ride II should make it easy getting into the backyard, its a good set up. Half and half is a good philosophy, too much of anything is a bad thing. Yanmar does make a fantastic engine, You can find a Yanmar on the new Scag Jackal Mini Skid Steer.
Will the dual wheel be two 24x9.5 or two 24x12?
Sorry for the late reply, they will be two 23x10.5x12s
@@KPMExceptional thanks
Thanks for this video but I have a question that no Scag dealer can answer so I'm hoping you can help me. Question..... There is a small rubber dust cover ( beak) on my carbon canister that Scag doesn't show a part number for , nor do they show the actual dust cover ( beak) parts in the listing . It looks the same as the rubber cover ( Beak) on the air filter but has a smaller OD . Can you help me with a part Number I have a SST61V-29DFI , Eng tag FD791D-GS04 , Serial # F5900402
I believe the part number you are looking for is 484366 - that does include the filter AND beak - but it is quite inexpensive.
@@KPMExceptional ... Yes 90.00 for the canister but why couldn't we buy a simple rubber without the complete canister ? I have checked with dealers and they tell me the rubber beak doesn't come on the canister.
Things change fast! I have checked our warehouse and inventory - the part number 484366 is indeed the rubber beak AND filter NOT cannister. For about $3.00.
That sounds great, I’ll buy that for sure
@@KPMExceptional ... Can I buy one from you, if so where ?
Thank u. I started using one of these .but this year the right is to low. When i cut. I think this should help. Is this for all models?. I have an older one .SVR36A-600FX*.But it does have those screw adjustments that ur doing
Yes an older V-Ride should still feature the same adjustment screws.
put some front caster wheels on it and i would buy it today!
No way air resistance is bending any scag blade ever. I think they played the telephone game with the R&D info and translated it there own way. Lol.
Believe it or not air resistance can indeed bend metal.
So 7.25” is the measurement you want for all 4 corners when the deck is set to 3”?
When receiving this mower new, do you need to sharpen the blades?
No. Is this a joke.
@@rebandmike No. Many times mowers are dull from being painted or never sharpened.
I bought a 2022 Liberty Scag 48" Restidental which I so of got a Commerical I have 300 hours and I want to sell my Liberty and but I Patroit Commerical How much can I sell my Liberty

@@chrisrieger9201 The correct RPM is entirely dependent on which motor you have. Please refer to the owners manual, or your local Scag dealer can always help.
Just ordered the 52 last week. Can't wait to get it. They said about a 2-3 week delivery date. Thanks for the detailed overview. Very helpful!
funny I just came acrossed this, as I just bought a wright mower and the bagging system from this dealer. Just waiting to get the mower back from having the bagging system installed. Now if we Could just get a dealer in York so I didn't have to drive to Lancaster that would be awesome.
Scag SFC-21 Excellent mower and the accessory side shoot works great. I bought mine at RAYS REPAIR 15845 GEORGIA RD MIDDLEFIELD, OHIO,44062. I mentioned where I bought it because I had a good positive experience. Seldom do I leave an establishment feeling that I was treated well.
Lots of good info.
Glad it was helpful!
Good evening, sir. Today, I just purchased the above Scag Mower you're demonstrating in this video. However, is there any place, website, TH-cam site, where I can get a step-by-step diagram or demonstration of how to attach the New Side-Discharge Chute I also purchased. I couldn't ask the dealer since the mower was delivered to my home by one of the dealer's truck drivers. When I lift the rear door, it appears that there may be a plug inserted. How does one remove it? Am I being too "gentle" in attempting to pull it out, and, does it require more pulling force? Then, does attaching the Side Discharge require any tools or some kind of accompanying hardware? Thank you, for your help with this. I'd like to use it for the first time this weekend.... - jack
@JackMastrangelo th-cam.com/video/P2L3Ya0ziBk/w-d-xo.html In part 2 we briefly showing removing and reapplying the plug in the back. You are mostly likely being to gentle, give it a real good tug! The side discharge does not require any tools, it slips into place. Good luck, let us know how it worked out.
Im trying to get my job to put these on. I want better stripes. You forgot to mention that you can suck out bad stripes
12v plug to charge your iPod 🤣 what year is it?
Just got a new scag 61” tiger cat 2. Has the 32BV engine. Noticed she bogs up hill with blades on. Any suggestions
Every mower is going to bog up hill with the blades on. These are small engines not v8s
@@optimuscrime608 friend has the 52” and his doesn’t do anything. Mine done with the blades off. Figured that out when I dropped it off at dealer.
On the tachometer that you are using, do you have it set at a 4 cycle 2 cylinder for a 37 vanguard efi or a 4 cycle 1 cylinder?
Tachometers vary a lot depending on model and manufacturer. We highly recommend bringing this or any other questions to an authorized Vanguard dealer. Sorry we cannot be more help on this one!
It has a major problem if the grass is wet and you're using rear discharge or catching grass the rear grass shot clogs constantly using the single bar blade.. @Scag the design off your grass shoot in the deck needs serious review the plastic cover over the drive belt is primitive design Here's what to do look at Honda decks see how they get good grass flow Lift motor by 75mm odd place drive belt above deck easier to service to Fit 4 blade cutting disk standard
This is interesting information, we will pass this along to Scag. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing that valuable feedback. I want to add another 21" commercial. I usually bag or mulch. I already have a Toro commercial 21 mower. I love the Toro but they've gotten really expensive where I am. I was looking at the Scag 21. It's priced at about $2600 where I live. I was also looking at the Honda HRC216...it's priced at $1729. If the Scag has that design flaw with bagging, I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money over a Toro. Thanks.
For commercial use catcher needs to be 30% bigger capacity
Nothing better than American Made 🇺🇲👍
Sometimes Jeep are crap. Toro crap, Ford are useless, GM generally rubbish, briggs and stratton just useless to that's just starters US defense industry's are great other manufacturers have forgotten QA
Only downside I see is the engine. If you could get the Kawasaki or Honda Pro engine I would definitely buy one
Kawasaki maybe. Honda is inferior
Having said that Kohler is at least equal to Kawasaki but nothing can't beat Briggs & Stratton, obviously
Good evening, Sir. Since you represent KPM Exceptional, I have a choice to make regarding the purchase of a walk-behind mower. I've been trying to decide whether I put my money on the Scag SFC21, or the yBravo 25-inch commercial? I understand that KPM sells both. Either mower would be used for my home, which happens to have some very steep hills. Thank you, for your help.
Jack, thank you for following KPM on TH-cam, we hope you enjoy the content. The direction you seek is very clear since you provided a complete description of your situation. For a property with “very steep hills” maneuverability of the mower will be of great importance to you. A smaller machine will provide better maneuverability, so therefore, in your application the SFC21 is the more maneuverable machine. Thank you for your question, it looks like we will have a great start to the season.
@@KPMExceptional Thank you, very much for your timely and valuable response!
