Dr John's Pinetop Boogie
มุมมอง 10K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Dr John's powerhouse boogie in Eb. Doesn't have a lot to do with Pinetop Smith's original boogie woogie, but has a quite a lot to do with James Booker's "Tell Me How Do You Feel". Anyhow, it's awesome when The Doc plays it and I hope you like my version (maybe a little too fast at the expense of some groove?) If you would like to learn boogie-woogie or any other style, including traditional mus...

Another terrific Albert Ammons tune, again based on Pinetop Smith's Boogie Woogie. I hope you like my interpretation of it (a few years ago now!) and should you wish to learn the boogie woogie style (or a variety of piano styles including traditional music) I teach students near Stirling Scotland and from all over the world over the internet - and most start as complete beginners! You can find ...

The original version, played by Ammons & Johnson, is a MUST listen for subtle boogie woogie at it's best, with an infectious beat...it's wonderful. I hope you like my interpretation of it and should you wish to learn th...
Chicago In Mind (Albert Ammons)

Albert Ammons' fantastic slow boogie blues. Ammons' own version is a superb, unequalled masterpiece of controlled power and touch. However, I hope you like my little version here, which I have transcribed to sheet music - please contact me at keepoffthecliff@gmail.com for details. Separately, I also teach boogie woogie (and other styles - Ragtime, Classical, Rock 'n Roll etc) near Stirling, Sco...

Chicago In Mind (Albert Ammons)
มุมมอง 15K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Albert Ammons' fantastic slow boogie blues - with his soulful, extended, freestyle introduction. Ammons' original version is a masterpiece of controlled power and touch, which in my opinion has never been equalled. However, we can but try and I hope you like my version - which I have transcribed to sheet music - please contact me for details. And, hey, I also teach this stuff in-person near Sti...

❤
I'm just at the beginning of learning this having mainly played classical. It's soooo different! Well done!
Wow made my day
OMG
Love it
hey whats the name of the digital piano you are using?;) greetings
Isn't this the kind of music they play in Wild West movies when the characters go to a bar?
I don´t think so. Boogie woogie and barrelhouse piano comes out of the blues, it was very popular in the 1930s and 40s. Albert Ammons, the composer of this piece, was born 1907. Wild West saloon music would very likely be based on bad renditions of popular songs heard in the East Coast cities and, at the end of the 19th Century (and the Wild West era), ragtime, which draws a lot from the European romantic and post-romantic piano music. The instruments themselves would be rather similar though, perhaps even more beat up and out of tune.
😀
Oneof my favorite boogie woogie ,love it!!

You kept apologising. There was no need to. That was really awesome.
