This rivalry game, you have to play fair but that's not always the case with any team. BYU has to play fair or there's consequences for everyone worse than getting fired. This was a must win game Kylie Wittingham needed to win. The officials did their best to keep players safe. They were great.

You did not win the game, it was not stolen from you. It was full-on holding so you cannot make crazy comments like that. It makes you and your program look really bad.

Problem is for Ute fans and coaches, there's no prescription medicine that will alleviate this kind of pain. The good news is, the pain will go away after you die.

Check out Utah's defender #73 flipping off the head ref @6:16. That is unacceptable behavior, and merits disciplinary reaction. Players and coaches have to maintain a certain level of respect for the refs.

If that call come with 6 minutes left in the game...there is probably none of this drama. Point is call was coming at no matter what point the clock was at. Obvious foul right in front of the referee. If the situation was reversed I know BYU would be just as pissed off and mad but I hope we would've handled differently. I know years ago fans at the Y threw trash at the refs and that was classless. But Utah next time score a point or 6 after halftime and stop the team from going downfield 55 yards to score a field goal and you'll be alright!!!...Go Cougs..

I’m a BYU fan & alumnus, and while I’ll admit that call was a bit questionable, but if Kyle & Co are blaming one call for a loss, they’re barking up the wrong tree.

We are seeing the downfall of Utah football. Since they lost to pedo state in the rose bowl. Congrats to BYU.

As a Ute, I'm embarrassed by this crap. I think Utah needs to clean house and get off their emotional attachment to being mediocre. Completely new staff focused on performance and not on emotional outbursts.

I wouldn't classify a team as playing "lights out" when they get shut out the 2nd half which included multiple drives starting at midfield. But Utah wants to make it all about one play. They're the biggest bunch of sore losers that ever lost.

Utah entitlement......they are what they are. They are so entitled, they deserve to be in their own league playing themselves.

They have no one to blame but themselves for the loss. No second half defense, no second half offense. One quarter of football seldom wins games. Show some class. Take the loss with a hint of dignity. I have been a long time Ute fan but this just turned me away.

I’m glad to know that the rest of the country now knows that Utah is the worst bunch of losers idiots and morons of all time. For decades they’ve been able to hide behind there’s somewhat good records but they’re the most classless POS of all time and everyone now finally knows it.

Utah thinks it's unfair to call legitimate penalties on them if they might win? Utah's #6 defense STILL had 50+ yards and a favorable clock to stop BYU from scoring at the end. Where were they? Utah's offense scored ZERO points in the second half. The AD goes ballistic? Head coach throws a chair? Stolen? Hardly! Quit yer whining!

I don’t think I have ever been more mad at a call then that face mask, if the ref doesn’t see his hand on his mask, you never should call it, nothing else to it. So it’s saying you see something that literally didn’t happen, I’m glad they made up for it at the end with a well deserved holding call.

Harlan is a clown! Is he describing his own behavior? He truly has made Utah the hated target school in the Big 12! Ironically, this school boasts about being invincible and superior to all the other programs in the preseason. They are ranked 15th in a 16-team conference.

By allowing such a close game against a weak team like Utah, BYU will not win much more than personal pride by season's end.

Did one of the utah players give the finger to the Referee? Could that be so? I would NEVER have thought that a player or a fan or a coach would do such a thing. I think this video has been altered some way to make it look like a ute player flipped of the Ref.

The play was reviewed, and assuredly multiple refs looked at it.... either we are going to claim that all the refs collaborated in a conspiracy, or they got it right. I'm no expert, but it's difficult for me to believe the conspiracy theory.
