It also says, in large print, "Primer enhanced spackling compound." The product is for patching small holes in drywall with Spackle. I don't know any cabinetmaker who uses Spackle to fill holes -- and neither do you. Apparently, you need the advice, so here are other hard substances you should not use to fill wood holes: diamonds, concrete, cast iron, plutonium. You've made a fool of yourself, and then advertised the fact. Next time, read the label.
The Surge has no balls
Great video! What's your opinion on RCWO slab fronts in full overlay in Face Frame cabinetry vs. in Frameless cabinetry? It seems like there's more spacing in the Face Frame approach, which would not look great with slabs because the additional spacing "interrupts" the beauty of the grain continuity. Whereas in Frameless the spacing is minimal. Which approach do you prefer?
Love the content. Thanks for sharing. Liked and subscribed!
I use the exact same setup. I have been trying to figure out the dust collection issue...thanks!
You're very welcome! The plexi housing did the trick.
Easy peasy😊
lemme eatcherass :)
As an old cabinetmaker that missing toekick in the background bugs the crap out of me 😅.......Beautiful oak
Bet that was a scary noise dude, glad you went hurt
I was super loud! I thought it destroyed it. And glad the shrapnel was contained
I love when a problem solves itself
True!
Well, whatever it is it's no longer a problem now 😂
micro shakers... ...for when you want just _a little_ salt & pepper on your meal 🤭
I like to use them on different cabinet doors, but with a differen wood, for contrast. Like the panels in a light wood and the shaker styles in walnut. Also, a 45° miter will enhance the look by alot.
I agree!
I love the look of the micro shaker and always wondered how it was done. Looks beautiful with the rift cut white oak!
This is the easier way to do it. Many door companies route a 2 1/4" frame.
So you paid 200 anyway
149 plus tax sir.
What type of file is that ?
A Simonds. I think it's called American Pattern. Single/ double cut
That works great
That’s super cool
As the owner of the m18, you’re being dishonest, I nearly have to hyperventilate keeping the line visible with every cut from my m18. I’m honestly going to pick up the m12 soon because I prefer the size and ergonomics.
Dishonest? pretty harsh. My experience is exactly as I said. I have learned since that my m12 is an "old" model with with no "blow" feature and the new ones have this feature. My M18 has a switch for "blow" or no "blow" on the side. Maybe you have an older M18 that doesn't have that feature and is similar to my m12? Thanks for you input though.
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Right to the point, thank you!
Glad it helped!
Would love to know what brands of laminate you like to use for cabinets :)
Whatever the customer wants, really
Brilliant!
Toe heater was a good touch.
Not gonna lie, I thought I was clicking on a Dr. Drew woodworking video.
Funny 😁
Heads are exploding around the globe.
Is that good or bad?
The Original Woodchuck, cool content
Definitely use wire even extremely thin otherwise the zip ties only last a few months
I would definitely use zip ties. They'll last years and won't cut through the insulation like wire will eventually.
Put weights in it prior to calling it good. Did you hand cut the dovetails?
I'm sure it's good but I can do that soon when I go back for handle install. Thanks
No, I order all my drawers. No money in it for me.
Make sure to leave excess zip tie so you can cut yourself on it later.
good point! No pun intended.
Why not use a washer instead of a nut? They're cheaper and protrude less.
I'm sure I could, I had a big box of them nuts though, and the hole size was good
Oh yeah 5/64. Do you have maybe 7/128?
I hear ya. But I've had to use very small screws, I think #6 or #4 this works well on, even though it says #3
Just fyi they sell zip ties with a screw hole lol
But this quick and dirty with parts laying around.
The front of the centering bit, is spring loaded so you don't need long bits
But it only punches a 1/8" deep hole or so.... no?
Why not just wrap the zip tie around the cord.. push a small hole where the screw would have been anyways and super glue the long tab you left on the zip tie in the hole. Saves a buck fifty in hardware costs and wont shred your arm every time you need to reach over there
That's a great idea! I'll shoot a video on that. Thanks. But I used scrap hardware.... I'll cut the zip tie shorter to prevent "shred".
Not bad when you got stuff to do.
The Original Woodchuck, cool video keep up the great content
Cut the zip off with razor ... Smooth no sharp edge👍🏼
Or. And hear me out… flushcutters
2 zip ties works too
Why not just tape it at that point??
...what tape are you using. Legitimately, I want to know what tape will hold that inplaxe indefinitely and not start peeling after a week, let alone a day.
@@kanadakid147 gorilla tape You’ve seriously never heard of it?
@rapsnacks360 used it and hated it. It is fine for flat surfaces in my experience, but it doesn't seem to like being wrapped on stuff and such.
@kanadakid147 clear packaging tape meets those criteria, if you have a clean, smooth.
Took it apart like that transmission guy I saw yesterday. Only the transmission is the only thing that went back together I bet. I have a flexilla water hose that works really well
That’s some beautiful work!
No way that went back together?!?
Yeah, I kinda lied. I just was havin' fun. I salvaged the hose though... I was disappointed it didn't retract correctly so I got a different brand, although it looks like they all come from the same factory...
My dumbass thought it was a tape measure at first😂
Funny!
Very, helpful. And a nice way to view your work. Thank you.
You're very welcome! Thanks!
I use this measuring technique all the time to make shelves and work benches. The best way to make sure everything is the same length is to use the first piece to measure the next piece.
I think that's very useful. One suggestion is to cover all the holes you're not using with tape. I know myself too well and I'm likely to zombie out and drill through the wrong hole. I usually make separate jigs for different size handles. One can also buy adjustable jigs, but they're expensive
Or pre slot the pieces before assembly using a backup block
Thank you Chuck
You chose Salice. Are they more stable than the Grass Dynapro or the Blum ( hard to adjust). I'm familiar with the heavier guides. Are you going to put that much weight in there?
Just seems lately I have trouble with Dynapro the last bit of closing. Salice seems better. And the 154lb. Salice has better pull strength for such a large drawer to close it.
@@theoriginalwoodchuck thanks for your response. I meant to say I'm not familiar with the heavier rated guides. I'm more out of touch because I'm not longer working with custom cabinets. Thanks for your videos
