2:56 I believe so too. I can’t decide between the HDF and Street model I would love the effect that the HDF would bring but I LOVE the look of the street edition …. Tough one but I feel the same way like you said If you like the look, you’ll eventually bring it out more often and take more photos, which result in better photos in a way …
I got my zine internationally. Yes, it took some time. Yes, at some point I thought it wasn’t going to arrive. But it got here and it’s beautiful, and I’m happy I’ve been patient. Trevor’s photos are of course beautiful, the captions are brilliant and the quality of the paper is high. All in all a great product and artwork. They probably just weren’t expecting the handling of this many orders to be so complex and this has caused delays and communication difficulties, These are artists, not experts in logistics of shipping stuff. I don’t think Trevor and his friend will watch this video, but should they end up here, I would recommend to ignore. People are always going to hate.
It seems like most photographers when they take pictures for their own enjoyment is focusing on the hunt for at good picture as the most interesting on the process. It’s about feeling alive. It forces most of them to get out and meet other people and places. But as soon as the picture is taken they turn their back and go hunting for the next one. I think there’s two problems with that; one they see the world in about few inches ( the screen on The Phone or camera) and two: they don’t stay in the moment and suck in the moment. It’s a fragmented world. I have admitted to myself that I take pictures to get the feeling of being alive. Being observant and aware of what is going on around me. And next; I will with pleasure stay around when the picture have been taken. The moment might still be there.
This guy is hating damn
$50? You can get a taschen book for less
AI is AI (and what it will turn out to be eventually, we will just have to see, same as with Photoshop), but dont'compare it to SP or Documentary Photography. It just two different things. A lot of negative reactions come out of being scared. Scared of loosing your own thing. I think think the possibilty of generating AI images, the fact that you can produce whatever you want from your room, makes "Old school" SP even more special.
Great one ☝️

Sam uses the exact same settings as me...unfortunately that's where any similarity with our work ends!

Excellent Street Photography doumentary, both myself and wife loved it. Inspiring and motivating.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Eric Kim's path is very shocking to me. As a beginner, I just found Eric Kim's channel a couple weeks ago, and was going through his videos which were really good teaching videos, getting very excited to see what he was up to nowadays. I was shocked to see how unhinged he appears now. Nothing about photography and it's all about Bitcoins, alpha male talks, demigod talk, all very odd and the polar opposite of what he was just 3-4 years ago. This video definitely helped put some context behind it. Seems like what might happen if you live off of posting content every single day. It probably consumes you - in an unhealthy way. Some of the odd things I saw on his website, the $5000 workshops and $500 camera straps but also giving away a lot for free completely makes sense now after reading his 'how he made 200k in photography' blog. He actually says exactly why he does that. Anyways I think he's a GREAT teacher and photographer, and I hope he somehow shifts his content back to that - but if he doesn't, I understand that too
The next Winogrand?? Lmao. What are y'all smoking?
Happy New Year Tim! Photography is total mindfulness, one thing that’ll keep you grounded in the moment. And the moment is the only reality, the future and past don’t exist.
Happy New Year John! So true had a lot of fun shooting yesterday. You are the best!

This documentary has truly opened my eyes to street photography in a different and inspiring way. As someone still learning about this art, I found it incredibly insightful and valuable. I recently joined a Facebook group called Street Photography, and while the community has talented photographers, I’ve noticed some members can have very high, rigid standards-many of the photographers featured in this documentary might not even ‘pass’ by their criteria. Watching this has reminded me that street photography is about creativity and storytelling, not just following strict rules. I’m glad I watched this-it’s a step in the right direction for my learning journey. Thank you for this video! I just subscribed!
Nice video Tim! Thanks for sharing. 😎✌️
👊 JD!
Why would anyone unsubscribe just because you’re creating vlogs? It’s easier just to enjoy the content they like and ignore the ones they don’t…🤷🏻♀️. I prefer the photo content over the vlogs, but sometimes enjoy both, so I’m not unsubscribing anytime soon. Cheers!💙
hope u dont become like another Eric Kim or Dante Sisofo. we need some sanity in the community :D
lol hope so too 🤣 nah I should be good
Best comment tbh 😂
Merry Christmas, Tim🎄✨✌️
Merry Christmas to you too JD!

Hey Tim please don’t risk losing your camera on account of us though it would be great to see a few of your awesome shots. Perhaps. Film and shoot in an area where you feel comfortable. With little risk of potentially losing your Camera like in the countryside. I’ve been great watching both your channel and Bigheadtaco on my television set lately has you both started doing daily content👌. Please keep creating if you are enjoying the process and if you don’t feel like filming in the street right now that’s okay too. You might consider overlaying a few shots you recently captured whilst simultaneously talking about the shots. 👍
Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for another mention, I’ve lost 114 followers so far 😉 Lots of thoughts on this post, but let’s just focus on Molly and a cats attitude in general. Never forget because it explains a lot: They were once worshipped as gods by ancient civilisations…they’ve never forgotten this.
🤣
I found this one of be your most vulnerable yet. Life is really hard. I can relate to what you're going through and if you lived closer I'd offer to buy you a pint. Don't let the b*stards grind you down 💪
Yup gotta stay strong
The older you get it gets a little harder to find your people ... lol tinder
😅 brah it’s a weird place to be now but maybe I just need to be bold and be out of my comfort zone. The thing is everyone that i know who uses the app both male and female have never had a good experience 😂 #horrorstories
Going hard on these vlogs! Molly Holly at it again!
She steals the show
@ They all do lol
Molly Holly that’s a cool cat!
She’s a character
This actually is ‘street therapy’, thanks for it and the mention. Winogrand is a colossus of street and it didn’t matter where he was. “The Street Philosophy of Garry Winogrand” is my favourite book. Also the advice from photographer Sam Abell often reminds me to slow down and as he says “just wait”.
You are sort of like him doesn’t matter in 🇬🇧 or in Vegas you are a colossus yourself
@ 😂😂
i mentioned you? Opps i mentioned you again in the vlog #004 im about to upload...i need to find new friends LOL
Really enjoying your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Good tips! I find myself hunting to much instead of fishing
I feel that 😂
I changed my mind, preferred it when you were eating 😂. You make some salient points. I tried making some pov street videos years ago. All it achieved was to distract me from taking photos and a dread of the work editing hours of me walking around the streets. Plus, way too much of that even six or so years ago. Instagram is pretty much pointless for photographers, agree.
I’m still waiting for you to vlogs. You have a lot to share clearly from reading your blogs. Your photos on the other hand are another story I’m kidding 😎 Instagram is pointless for photographers unless you wear a bikini and showing yourself capturing the photos
@ 😂 Indeed. And even after I’d clearly pointed out two photos, of the many shots in that post, that I didn’t think of as saying much or really street photography…you emailed saying one of them was your favourite. I might do a vlog. 😉
Though, also giving serious consideration to a bikini.
Please consider it. It’ll speed up your rankings on the algorithms
Ha. I left the comment about you eating. It's not seeing it that bothers me, it's hearing it. It's like the opposite of ASMR 😂 I'm a fan of the channel though, mate, and it was written with good intentions 🙏
Haha no worries other ppl privately messaged me about the eating hahaahah u were brave enough to make it public so I appreciate it.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I need some advice: I have a okx wallet with money, and I have the seed phrase: (proof inner hobby bounce blouse able donate virtual luggage cart morning ticket). How can transfer them to Binance?
Wtf are you talking about 🤖 😂
Yeah man it’s too much to think about plus it opens another door to gear needs/excuses
I want you to spend all your money!!! Except not now cause I don’t have any affiliate links 🤣
@@WORDONTHESTREETphoto I can wait for your links 😂 maybe I’d benefit more from an affiliate link to “better help” 😂
I'm down for this style of video but please - and this is definitely a me problem - don't eat when doing them. The slopping makes me feel nauseous
🤣
This is great. Okay, the eating breakfast was stressful to watch. The tension was palpable. Would he finish it, why hasn’t he finished, why is he eating food that should be hot that’s clearly stone cold? 😉 We’re all in photography for the same reasons Tim. Creativity and escapism. We need it. Just writing about that in my blog, which is a thing I have to do just as you have to create content.
You don’t like seeing food in my mouth? I now do photography hoping to meet a new gf 🤣
@@WORDONTHESTREETphoto Good luck with that 😂
Why not hammer down and document your hometown as much as possible and show that process here. There must be so much unseen that the content is endless. There isn't one photography book specifically on Santa Monica (where I live) in street/doc style. Surprising considering the history here. Be the guy that does the first thing where you're at and get some views while doing it. Maybe watch GaryVee, Dan Milnor and Dante Sisofo for ideas/inspiration. Most people won't go through the trouble of thoroughly documenting a place because it's hard and takes a lot of time. So it's a sure way to stand out. Just my thoughts anyways.
That’s surprising for a Santa Monica with its long history and art community. Yes hawaii has lots of potential it’s part of the reason why initially 15 years ago street photography excited me more because no one has done street here. 😃 thanks for watching.
@@WORDONTHESTREETphoto I shot downtown Honolulu almost every weekend for about 3 years, although I only shot for fun, and never got published. I am/was username Pareidolic on Flickr.
Unedited just talk shop I can dig this
Thanks
Haha, not a fan of the eating, so I surfed during the video, and just listened to the audio. Enjoyed the chatter though. Your IG is also refreshing because I seldom see street from HI.
Great Vlog. Merry Christmas Tim!🎄😎✌️
Merry Christmas. Lmk when you’re here in Hawaii 😎
@ thanks! Likewise Tim, whenever you’re visiting Melbourne! 🎄✌️
I do my commercial work with two 8 year old camera bodies. They have plenty resolution, still work well. For street I use something older and worse with less resolution. No client has ever asked me about gear.
I've been following Trevor's work for about a year. Every hipster on instagram post-covid seems to be slinging an M6 and doing street photography in NYC, and as someone who has been doing street for 20 years, I haven't seen anyone with truly a new style or process. I ordered the book a while back, maybe 6 months ago, then forgot about it. I remember it maybe a few weeks ago and messaged him, and he responded and got me the book in about a week. My take on this whole thing is Trevor is a good dude, original art is hard, and being a full time artist is damn near impossible. This is his first zine, and sure its slow. Just message him if you havent gotten it yet. I dont think speculating over all this stuff is productive. Now what I will share is the Zine is great. Its good quality stock, and man, his work is just so good. Even the small details of the throw back design choices and the JPG file names as the titles of each image. I support the guy, it's killer work. Send the corrective message to remind him of the order, and he'll respond and get it out to you.
It’s amazing how an AI can be so observant of social situations and notices things I didn’t even notice (though it’s not like I am a master of observation). I have been playing with different versions of ChatGPT and depending on how I ask the question the same picture could get a 4.5 in one version and a 3 in another. So it’s definitely not objective… it has the same problems than with jurors where you can get rejected in a show and score high or even win in another. And the fact that even ChatGPT is inconsistent is a good thing!
That’s good the different ai apps are inconsistent. I think everyone just need to take this with a grain of salt and have fun or not 😅
Photography is by definition a biased representation of the world: someone (the photographer) has consciously chosen to capture a moment within a set frame. Photography has NEVER been objective.
