Dans ce tutoriel j'explique les fondamentaux du top instancing sur Touchdesigner. Erratum : A la fin du tutoriel, nous ne cherchons pas à avoir une valeur d'alpha egal à 1 pour l'arrière plan mais d'obtenir une différence marquée avec le timer. Il faut jouer sur le scale z du sop box pour augmenter la profondeur des cubes et jouer avec le constant top pour les réduire. www.dith.media instagram....

7:10 What if I used Midjourney and MiDaS Depth Maps (which produces an 8-bit fixed RGBA image)? Is it not compatible? or do i just edit the GLSL top settings to an 8bit fixed RGBA pixel format?
You can of course use Midjourney to generate the first image, but for the depth one you will need something at 16 or 32 bit float.
@@Dithdsgn when i add the color rgba to the Geo COMP there’s an error. Is this because the the colormap is 16bit pixel, and the depth map is 8bit pixel? Do they have to be the same?
@@SQKmedia No, the bitrate should not be an issue, but the resolution of each operator is. Are you sure your color map and depth map are the same resolution ?
@@Dithdsgn yes they're the same. The error says all ops must generate the same number of instances.
@@SQKmedia That means that your tops your are instancing from do not match in resolution. Are you using a top for the scale aswell ? You should check the resolution of all the tops you are referencing in your geo.

Sorry, just seeing your comment now. I would be curious to see what solutions you came up with :) On first thinking I wouldn't use stablediffusion depthmap to do so, as in order to achieve it you would need to extract each images of a movie, and then process the depth map of each pictures. The stability in the results would be a bit odd. But you could extract the depthmap out of a movie using davinci resolve. It will offer a better stability, and the yes, you could process it realtime in touchdesigner.

Salut, merci beaucoup pour t'a vidéo qui m'a fait acheter une kinect windows mais j'ai un bug, elle se déconnecte toutes les 5secondes, j'ai bien enlevé la déconnection quand le pc est en économie de batterie mais elle continue de se déconnecter puis de se reconnecter. merci d'avance, bonne journée !
Elle se déconnecte que sur touchdesigner ou sur kinnect studio également ? Peut être un problème de câble ou d'adaptateur usb

Oui, tout a fait, c'est le deuxieme model sorti pour les xbox, elle n'est plus produite aujourd'hui mais on peut en trouver a vendre sur ebay, nativement elles n'étaient pas forcément fournis avec un cable adaptateur pc mais on en trouve egelement

Hi, thanks for the tutorial,, this is genius! Do you know if this no longer works on newer versions of touchdesigner? I've followed step by step twice, and at 10:51, it doesn't reach all the way to the attractor. It also doesn't work making the values positive before the threshold TOP when the attractor is behind the source for me. I'd love to be able to get this working :)

Hi, glad you find it helpfull. Yes you can remove it by chosing in the kinectTop depthpointcloud instead of color point cloud.

But I want to do same tutorial on my channels and post as my contents in Japanese. Because there are so many TD tutorials on TH-cam and also we have community of TD in Japan like TDWS but they are usually post in English. However, some users are not good at English like me. So I want to introduce tutorial as even people who are not good at English can understand. Is it ok?

Avec plaisir. Oui, dans le kinect Top sur le tuto j'ai choisi Color point cloud, mais en choisissant DepthPointCloud normalement le quadrillage disparait (mais on perd en definition)
