What brand oscilloscope would u recommend?

I would recommend Autel Mp408 or MTpro. If you have a higher budget Picoscope and ATS elite scopes are top notch. Any of these scopes coupled with some delta sensors will get you far fast in identifying both electrical and mechanical issues.

Not yet but bought a leak down tester because I know that #8s compression came up differently than the rest. So I'm going to do a leak down test here soon to get a solid determination weather that cylinder needs a valve or if the rings may have cracked. I'll post a video of me doing the various tests to see if it's one or the other. Basically you can put oil in the cylinder and if it holds compression better than you probably have an issue with the piston an its rings. Just one more test I can do before taking the head off. It might need a lifter or maybe another valve seat has came loose. If another valve seat has came loose I'll be very surprised but I guess it's possible. I'm been busy with another project but I'll post the results as soon as I can. Thanks for your interest and I will definitely find the issue and share what I've found with everyone. They have moved or are still moving surrounding cars that could add to the danger. I heard a train enter the area around sundown. From skyline on Rt 50 I watched the engine pull up an back several times assuming connecting and moving cars a few times. Last the engine took maybe 50 cars out of the area. Yes they say the car has stopped leaking and has cooled down. I think they make that determination with a camera on a drone that can sense heat. The lower heat slows expansion and that could be why it's not being pushed out the breached lid. The leak has stopped for now

@@Automotivemayhem Thanks! Most up-to-date info so far. The reliefs I was researching open at minimum 75 psi up to 165 psi. Styrene will have some autogenous pressure (fancy word for makes its own pressure..like Propane) but obviously its too high if the relief opened. Sounds like autopolymerization..which can be a runaway feedback loop..reacts, gets hotter, hotter reacts more, gets hotter..but they caught in in time. Also that styrene vaporizing (boiling) serves to cool it slightly as well (evaporative cooling). I'd be interested to know if those tank cars are insulated. If so, spraying water on the outside doesn't have good thermal conductivity to the contents. Insulation would also serve to keep any reaction heat from radiating away..like an oven.

A lot of people have been called in to help with the scene and road closures. I even saw county maintenance vehicles blocking roads an intersections. Something like 15 departments emergency personnel have been called it to help. Not sure what they are all doing besides blocking roads. I've only seen a couple large ladder trucks actively spraying the tanker

So I'm going to be pulling the head off the car because I've got a good idea what it could be since I've checked everything else basically. But the red flag was a telling compression test. I would recommend doing your own test. You can get the tool rented at autozone for just a deposit. One of the valves is leaking, why I'm not sure carbon, bad spring, possibly even a seat has came lose, which is super rare especially since it's already happened to me on the other head! This solenoid had a crack in it. The freeze plug on the starter side is rusted through. I replaced one of the driver side plugs already but you can see the starter has rust on it from coolant/hose water dripping on it. The coil in the solenoid most likely corroded and split. ALL rooting from using tap water for coolant and forgetting about it. People take heed, don't let tap water sit in a cast iron block, if it rusts, it's like cancer spreading, and you can never really get rid of it. I'm going to post the break down on replacing the solenoid tonight and I'll have a video of me replacing that other plug soon!

If you can find a wrench or an extention that will make it might be possible. I just decided that since I knew what it took to remove the control, I wouldn't mess around an possibly waste time trying to pull a mission impossible an fail. If you think you might run into complications with the arm removal it might be worth it to try an find a way up in there. I know people have done it without removing the arm. Be honest I think the other freeze plug needs replaced as well so I might be doing the same thing to the other side

Ya know??? I just decided to say screw it and go for the slack jawed mechanic’s fix. I bought some of that JB Weld high temp putty and I crawled under with a bit of that mixed up and slowly slipped a butter knife in there a few times and filled that area up with the stuff. Once it hardened I checked it out. No leaks even after temp. No problems since I did it and don’t expect any. Sure was a hell of a lot easier than the other way!

Didn't know it was legal, I guess that's why the police just checked them out an drove off. I didn't see any citations written so I believe you. For the sake of good documentation and reporting when I get the chance I'll look up the law on it an post it in the comments. But legal or not I wouldn't go over 10mph with that load an someone commented they saw this on 70 in CMH Ohio, not sure where that is but I hope it wasn't a highway!
