It's confirmed for this spring,so,while we wait for a concrete WWD date,we'll have that to watch!

the only way i can see a spino beating t rex is by doing a kangaroo and drowning it in water while both are in the water. otherwise t rex gonna win. "real" t rex sounds has been soothing but also kinda terrifying to listen too.

One thing I love about the animation in Walking with Dinosaurs is that you can see lots of tiny body movements that give the animals more realism: muscles jiggle, tail tips bounce and wave, skin twitches etc In spite of the models and textures not holding up great, I think those tiny body movements contribute a lot to give them some of the most realistic animal behavior that I’ve seen in any Paleo documentary

Also, having seen the two seasons of Prehistoric Planet I should say that while it consistently looks really good it doesn't consistently "feel" as real as it should. Kills are either sugar-coated or hidden from view at times and most of the battles lack that "realistic" feel to them too. Especially when it comes to how violent the natural world can be. I understand that over the course of roughly two generations, kids these days shouldn't be necessarily seeing particularly violent battles or hunts between animals. But during the early-late 2000's, I grew up seeing somewhat violent battles and hunts between animals not just in paleomedia but in the modern world too. Heck I saw CGI dinosaurs hunting and fighting as an over 3 year old child when Walking with Dinosaurs came out on the Discovery Channel and my mother didn't care if there was going to be some violence one way or another. I just recorded that documentary on an empty VHS tape and enjoyed it until the audio for the tape faded away and I wound throwing it away after I got the VHS release of the UK version and eventually the DVD release too. Tangent aside, Walking with Dinosaurs as outdated as it is (which is a good thing) actually showcases how violent the natural world can be at times MUUUUUUCH better than 9 out of the 10 episodes of Prehistoric Planet. Battles and hunts are taken seriously and those scenes end with either an animal injured, dead, or in the case of the Leaellynasaura from Spirits of the Ice Forest straight up decapitated. More importantly though, they aren't meant to be too violent though. Even the mating scenes are much better than again most of those in Prehistoric Planet. With the exception of the Triceratops scene in North America, most mating scenes were either sugar-coated or even censored to a degree. In Walking with Dinosaurs however, the mating scenes aren't too graphic but aren't sugar-coated or censored in someway. Case in point the shot of two mating Tropeognathus almost looks as though they aren't mating as it's stated by the narration to be brief. Or when the female Diplodocus and Tyrannosaurus are mated by their respective partners, they're filmed in a naturalistic way as if a film crew actually got those shots in those angles. I still enjoyed Prehistoric Planet as a whole though. I give it an 8.3/10, but that's mainly due to how models look and how the final episode of the show actually did what the other nine failed to consistently do with their subjects. When I watched the first few minutes of Coasts, I legit felt like a three old kid again watching Walking with Dinosaurs for the first time, but as soon as that Mosasaur fight scene came it was just disappointment after disappointment with each hunt or battle scene until North America (then again it was a bit bland when the Nanuqsaurus kills an Ornithomimus in pretty much the same manner as the Qianzhosaurus kills a Corythoraptor but it actually has blood present on the Nanuq's jaws after the kill is made instead of the Qianzhosaurus looking like a dinosaurian cat with a "bird" in its jaws). And Oceans was literally just copy-pasting scenes from previous shows for 4 out of the 6 scenes in the episode. Scene one is copycatting episode 3 of Walking with Dinosaurs, scene 3 is pretty much copycatting both BBC's Sea Monsters (2003) and National Geographic's Sea Monsters a Prehistoric Adventure (2007), scene 4 is copycatting 2006's Planet Earth particularly the scene of great whites hunting fur seals off the coast of South Africa, and scene 6 is copycatting 2 scenes from 2001's The Blue Planet particularly Frozen Seas. Sorry for the multiple paragraphs, but I kinda had to get that off my chest (again admittedly)...
