Sampling Grease using the GT Filler
มุมมอง 1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
The GT Filler presents a new and lower cost method to sample greases for the purpose of Screening Tests, including Ferrous Debris testing with the Poseidon FerroQ. Samples are about 1.5 grams and can then be transferred from the Pick-PocketTM short tube directly into a Grease Thief for a full slate of tests according to ASTM D7918.

Merry Christmas everyone
Merry Christmas Rich and Sanya!! We LOVE Grease Thief!!
Great video, thanks a lot
Hey Rich, thanks for the great video! This is an excellent outline of the relevance of rheology measurements to grease assessments.
I missed the live stream but glad to see the recording was available. Thanks for sharing Rich//Sanya
Excellent webinar. I apologize for not being able to catch up with you last night, as I was unable to access the webinar link due to internet connection issues. It was an eye-opening seminar. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. Thanks, and best regards, Raj.
Wonderful Grease failure analysis! we have learn very great things due to this webinar.

Very insightful...👍
Ну вот зачем я это смотрю? :D
which variable is responsible for the speed of movement of the robot, now the maximum is 2000mm, do i need 5000?
He never addressed what to do if you have to mice incompatible greases.
If you “have to mix” greases: 1- test for compatibility 2- test inservice greases periodically to ensure no adverse machine conditions 3- purge grease frequently to flush out old grease and mixture, careful not to overlubricate 4- hope for the best, as mixing greases is never recommended
Hanzhen harmonic gear , robot arm gear reducer
We would like to test that robot too. We have a distributor in Shanghai. Can we put you in touch?
@@MRGLaboratoriesYork SURE! pls send mail to huangyx@hanzh.com
Awesome 👍
And what if there's mo purge relief... as my Centurion 5hp motor.
Very nice presentation Rich. Thank you for the sharing
Nice video Rich. Thanks for sharing.

I thought this would be a robot to sample my weed for me...
Such a shame
Get a lock n lube coupler for that grease gun....thank me latet
I do have one, purchased it at the Ag Progress Days expo in State College, PA. However, I am cautious about using it, since it defeats the feedback that one receives when trying to lubricate a Zerk fitting and it keeps popping off. That should be a sign that something is not right, and can in fact, be quite dangerous. When a properly installed Zerk fitting is in place, and a coupler in good shape is attached to it, unless the coupler is moved to a sharp angle, it should stay in place while pumping. A coupler that pops off could be due to damaged coupler teeth or springs, damaged Zerk fitting, or blocked grease supply path. Forcing a locking mechanism to hold that in place and continue pumping can generate several thousand psi of pressure, and the result can be dangerous to the equipment or persons performing the analysis.
@@MRGLaboratoriesYork mine works great...try extra new Jaws sent with kit ...hope it helps you out
Some things to consider for this method: 1- When purge can is removed from bearing, be careful that no outside contaminants contact the grease at the threaded hole 2- If preferred, some grease can be purged out prior to sampling, but is usually not necessary as the grease near the threaded hole is the most recent grease to exit the bearing 3- The yellow cap does not need to be pushed all the way onto the thread of the open end of the Grease Thief, only enough to firmly engage the taper to be secure. Pushing it all the way on only makes it more difficult to get it off in the lab, and can sometimes force excess grease out the other end of the Grease Thief at its purge holes, making a mess 4- The filled Grease Thief is placed in the protective shipping tube and capped, and the label is attached to identify the sample 5- For barcode labels, the barcode must be entered into the NAVIGATOR web app to identify the sample, including reference grease, equipment identification, sample location, age of grease, environment and other appropriate factors 6- The samples are mailed to the laboratory in the provided return bubble mailer 7- Samples from a purge can that is mostly full will usually give a good sample, as studies have shown that the movement of the blade bearings typically mixes and moves the grease within the bearing ensuring representative particles and grease are obtained 8- Quantitative values in grease are always a factor of the particles/contaminants being produced, and the amount and rate of grease replenishment. Similarly operated machines can be compared, but differences in relubrication between similar bearings grease changes in concentration that must be compensated for 9-For more information, consult www.greasethief.com or MRG Labs at 1-717-324-5921 or info@mrgcorp.com
