Long time since i was there, l delivered laundry all over the rural areas in the mid 60's.

Nice car, but I dont get why all youngtimer owners put roof racks on their car, like their on their way stealing washing machines in Ukraine. Do they really think in the 70s everybody (specially luxury cars like Mercedes) had roofracks?

Somewhere there's a house made out of a converted granary building that was converted and lived in by the author H.E Bates for thirty odd years. He was the author of "Darling Buds of May" among other books.

They been talking about a rejuvenation programme for as long as 25 years. The 'fact' is, Ashford has gone backwards in comparison to other neighbouring Kent towns. Yes there is a new brewery(?) and cinema (?) ...oh! and the 'designer' (last seasons ) outlet, but 'ALL' the 'major' retailers have jumped ship (big Red Flag!) Why didn't all these 'designer outlet' shops set-up in the main high street?!!....it's just a retailers outdated 'stock off-load' gimmick. Unfortunately, lots of people have fallen for it. Has for corporate investment, those companies who are setting-up factories, offices and building new homes etc in Ashford are not doing it because it is a place of high growth, no. It is purely because the land is cheaper there, than it would be elsewhere in a more 'affluent' Kent town. Fact!. Ashford (with the exception of the surrounding villages) has become an 'anti-social hub'. Shops and shopping centres are closed and empty, with no companies wanting to rent or buy them (with the exception of the multiple Vap, Barber, Tattoo and Kebab shops. It is a town that has not progresses or moved forward from all the 'pre-scripted' MP'S and media 'spin doctor' reports of 'planned' growth programmes (that on the whole have not been proven in the last 25 years , with the exception of the above, oh! and the train station extension!). Sad but 'evidentially' very true.

JC S 10 minutes ago (edited) Medway towns work in only 2 ways: The are the 'well kept and orderly towns and then there are the ones that are unfortunately 'infested' with the scum that drags the towns down for those the majority want to live in the 'former'. Ashford is one of the latter. Yes there is lots of developers building to sell to foreign investors (who have not got a 'clue' where Ashford actually is!) who will just rent them out to student city and cash-in after a couple of years rent. The 'non-existent high street and vacant shopping centre has been replaced with upteen kebab and barber shops and nothing else. Such a shame that the town is not up there with some of it's better inhabited neighbouring medway towns. Time for a clean-up Ashford Council!. Developers are only developing in this town for rental sales, nothing else (although the councils 'rare' advertising campaigns will try to tell you different. (with its misplaced 'designer centre' and it's 'so-called' international station - which people only use to pass through Ashford to get to Europe!...ironic such an exspensive opportunity was missed!. As you will see in this video, the place is a boarded-up, non-discriptive ghost town!.

Wittersham in the isle of oxney is a beautiful part of Kent/Sussex and I thank you for filming this gorgeous piece of our countryside x

I lived most of my life there until I emigrated 7 years ago. Looking at this now I just think what a dump this place was. It has nothing to do with lockdown, it's just a small, boring, dying town centre. Nothing remotely interesting happening there.

I grew up in this village. It seems to have changed a lot. It is unfortunate that this road is used as a short cut to the M20.

That lorry is a prick ya know. i lived here my whole life and still do but moved out into another house in sittingboune after 11 years. one house for first 11 years here and then 2nd house untill god knows here.

WTF! What have they done to the station? A tiny roundabout for all cars outside the station? Not been to the town in years

You can walk down a road and there be lovely kept houses and bungalows and on the opposite ,untidy and unkempt properties, I wonder how much those very large painted front houses are worth along the sea front ..

I lived on the sea front at central parade loved it wish I was back there

God if there was ever a town dying on its arse it's this one! I used to live there in the 80s and went to school there, but now I wouldn't rush back. I know it was filmed during lockdown but still so depressing.
