Get it right Will Hagen. It is not Jeffrey Sayle. It is Jeff Sayle. Only his mother calls him Jeffrey. And the only reason Beattie won that race is because at 18 years of age he only weighs 9 stone, wringing wet. 😅

Is that father Sayle there mate on the Silastic GSXR ? he was a bit of a legend in his time , I thought Croz bagged him a bit in his book , which I have to say was a pretty good read about racing back in the 70s & 80’s

Oz racing seemed more watchable back then , the bikes were cool & we sort of knew the riders more .. they seemingly had more personality , probably a generational thing .. before it became too professional & slick.

Great shame that track is now suburban houses. Terrible shame. IT was the best track in Australia imo. Philip Island is good but this is a genuine international style race track. Just needed better safety and it was as good as any.

That bike camera position is better than the modern. Much closer to the real thing.

I have a photograph of Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan talking on the track holding the Honda, Gardner giving advise to a young attentive Mick...then he just went on to become a legend!!!

Just added an 1990 ZXR 750 H2 to my small bike collection.. great to see them being raced 💚✌🏻
