Raspberry Pi and Spotify Powered Frame - Full Build Guide
Listening to police p.25 scanner radio on my pi 5 as I type this
I modified his code so it works on my github (nicotheburrito)
Great job. I've got to try the graphite powder.
The only issue with the graphite powder was that it needs to be sealed afterwards. I did not do that and its started to come off.
@rwardtech Ah, thanks for that. The one that I saw use it didn't clear coat it that I remember.
Nice. did you model it
No I found the model online: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5033571
Files?
Here is the thingiverse link: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5033571
🤘
It looks cool❤
When you did the wood filler, how did you get it to be smooth all over and not like glob up? Did you paint it on with a brush, or spread it by hand? I've tried the trick mixing it with acetone several times, but just cant seem to make it come out smooth all over like yours.
I actually did use the acetone trick! I mixed about two parts wood filler to one part acetone in a bowl. Then I used a sponge brush to paint it on.
@rwardtech ah, the sponge might be the idea I need. When I've tried it, it's come out very very clumpy. I might not have my ratio of mixing down very well either. Thanks for the info!
Damn thats a pretty cool mask, it would be a perfect cosplay helmet for a daft punk duo cosplay
I think I'm going to make the other mask next.
Damn, dude. That really impressed me. Can you make a Mandalorian one?
Thanks! Yeah I think a mando helmet would turn out great
@@rwardtechAbsolutely!😊
Why does the supports structure have to make me feel sacred 😂 just a little though😅
Pretty cool! I would recommend adding speakers!!
That’s a great suggestion!
That support structure makes it look like a demonic eldritch abomination. You should've kept it 😂
You may already know this but just in case you don't, there is a filler out there called Bondo, it's used for automotive and marine purposes and it may work better than the wood filler on the 3D printer material. Although the wood filler is easier to use as it's already mixed and ready and you have to mix the Bondo yourself with hardener but it may work better and be more durable than the wood filler. I'm not saying it's the way to go but maybe just another option for you?
Thanks for the suggestion! I did consider using bondo. However, I went with the wood filler because it was cheaper and easier to work with. Next time I will have to give bondo a try to see if it gives better results!
wont wsp32 would be enough for it?
it 2024, an mp3 player is the size of a book, has to be made by the used himself and is made for the purpose of displaying nice images.
Does a esp32 could handle the software side ?
What a shit video more serious promoting than actual turorial
Pi-Hole is pretty easy too.
Can you make a tutorial for the code for the esp32?
COOL
Can you run vue js on it?
Did you 3d pring the frame ?
Would it be practical to create a clock using this display? Would it need to refresh the whole screen like that for every minutes update on the clock?
How long does it take to update the cover photo? I gather that eink are slow to refresh images
This project no longer works. There is also no support.
"Just give this script execution permissions and run. But don't worry, it gives you Spotify access... " As a software guy I wanna know what packages you're using, how you build the code etc. This is a little handwavy for me
It doesn't even work anymore anyway
Hi, thanks for you video! I've managed to get everything working great but after an hour from when I generate-token it seems to stop refreshing and no longer displays Spotify. I followed the steps with generating the .cache file but it does this every time. I was wondering if you had any idea what might cause this? Thanks :)
Is there any way we can modify the program to work just with the hdmi output of the raspberry pi?
Too late to request. But can you please try this display with any nfc module? Where we can display images via nfc transfer? Mostly from phone or any android platform. 8 have a keychain doing that, but would love a photo frame with color having the same feature, but I also have no idea about programming or tech much
Can you do the live backgrounds?
nice. no GF Required!
Please, PLEASE, stop ending your sentences in questions. It's so hard to listen to.
Crap vid
Build a NAS drive with Open Media Vault
it works with a raspberry pi pico?
Can i make this project with another display on raspibberry? 60 Euros for the display is to expensive for me, i tought i could use another cheap display to do the same job. BTW amazing job you did in this project. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
could we do an ebook with that?
how did you learn rapberry pi?
funny I see this after I hear about Spotify bricking their "car thing"
Now, add 2 buttons for skipping and a volume dial. Then we can replace our Spotify Car thing
Anybody has an idea if this still works in 2024? I ve tryed it out and always got messages like: This command is depricated. And it is not working by now. Please help
Did you get it to run yet? I'm having some issues as well. Might be my own fault tho.
i fixed the code on my github (nicotheburrito)
Spotify Home Thing (but without the ewaste part)
Can I do this with my own downloaded music??
spotiPi hehe
Can this be used for a Computer to display the actual desktop, to work with?
I love this project, very cool job!
I’m hoping e ink screens come down in price further, they would be so useful for many projects
