One of the other Y-T channels on The Villages (Gold Wing Nut channel maybe?) said at least one of the indoor pickle-ball court buildings has stopped construction (some sort of issue, maybe the investors bailed) -- no further work has been done on it for some time now. I hope the building you're talking about isn't that one. -- BR

Yes, for ME it's still the interest rates! Most people disagree, saying "No, it's not the rates it's the high home prices" but for me (running the numbers) if the interest rate were lower then current home prices (in my markets of interests, as not all markets nation-wide or even state-wide are the same) WOULD be affordable, and easily. It's amazing what a 4% difference (3% vs. 7%) makes in one's P&I pay't each month! To me, it's Big Money (that I prefer would go to me into savings, not to the lender). As for home prices, I'm seeing them come down almost daily. Only slowly, true, but homes -- still inflated/over-valued/over-priced -- aren't now AS overpriced as they were 2-3 years ago. Additionally, I'm seeing more supply coming onto the market, mainly new-homes/construction, which should pressure prices downward. And even though current home-owners are still hesitant to sell due to current high rates -- so THEIR homes will continue to remain off-market -- I do expect supply to meet demand (and more) sooner than later...but for now it seems the Developers/Builders are leading the way increasing supply. Still, given the current high rates (for me, even VA Loan rates) I'll continue to be a renter and stay on the sidelines...but spending the time wisely preparing for the mortgage pre-qualification process in order to get the best numbers I can when the time is right for me to buy. Glad so see more homes coming onto the market in The Villages...expecting that to continue for a good while. ;-) -- BR

Does TV make you get a new roof every so may years or is that a thing the actual insurances mandate? Heard need a new one every 10 years but not sure if that’s via TV or the home owners insurance company? Also why does the sewer cost vary every month🤔

I think we are actually up to 115 pools and almost 300 pickleball courts and almost 800 holes of golf!! And with the Eastport area and south- that will add dozens and dozens of pickleball courts and probably a couple hundred holes of golf and at least a dozen more pools. I love that we keep growing. It ensures the Developer stays committed to our AWESOME community and adds endless amenities and more golf cart and walking and biking adventures!!! We live in and LOVE The Village of FENNEY!!

You keep paying fees, special assessments, taxes, bonds, all for the pleasure of standing in line to play pickle ball. You have difficulty getting a tee time esp. during high season. Grass on the courses are brown. Many people go over the speed limit in their carts and it is down right dangerous. So these are just some of the things that make The Villages stand out.
