I love lord krishna and follow the words of gita. However in 2.31 of gita it states "in the battlefield a king or Kshatriya while fighting another king who is envious of him is eligible for achieving the heavenly planets after death just as the brahmans also attend the heavenly planets by sacrificing animals in sacrificial fire". As a person who loves animal this verse in particular made me feel conflicted. I do not think any god in hinduism would be happy to get offereing at the cost of the life of any innocent animal. Bhagvad gita is knowledgeable and good but I feel like the Bhagvad Gita 'As it is' which is published by ISKCON is not really As it is because there are some few lines or verse that seem alterted or brainwashed.
