Hi im riding a QR prfive di2, and im haing a hard time handling the bike when holding the wing 10a basebar, its too slipery and my wrist keeps mooving. Im considering changing to a dropbar and sti, can uou please give me some advice for better handling?
Absolutely, could you please email me direct at michael@custombikefit.com
Hey, just saw this set up and was exactly what I wanted to install. Unfortunately both bolts attaching the trek aero bars to the original mono riser sheared off completely during a 70.3 and caused me to hit the road at 60km/h. After googling this problem a lot of others have had the same bolts snap on them, so I’d highly recommend you replace the original bolts you used here to attach the adaptor plate to the mono riser with something denser perhaps. Ends up being such a large amount of side to side leverage placed on two weak bolts. Frustratingly I just found a large crack in the carbon top tube, so not even sure if mine is repairable yet!
I am 5' 6" tall (170cm) and have 29" leg length. I experimented and modified my crank arms to 155mm with GREAT success. It's as simple at this: Why would I use an arm fitted for someone with 33-35" legs (or longer)? The range of available road bike arms are (generally) limited to 1.0 cm. (165-175) A sampling range of 6" leg length differences is 14cm !!!! Well, I learned. My Zwift output went up about 10watts and the fluidity which I ride with is perfect FOR ME. Good awareness. Thank you.
While riding my road bike I feel the need to periodically move my bum back in the saddle. I find that over the course of my ride, my bum tends to move forward and I then have to keep repositioning it further back. I feel the need to do this because I am uncomfortable closer to the nose of the saddle and I feel my legs aren’t extending enough as I paddle. Can you explain why this is happening and what I need to do?
Hi @crispkingguy in order to assist I really need to see some footage of you on the bike. Are you able, in the first instance, to send me an email michael@custombikefit.com and we can go from there

What about the cleat placement more foward or back? Thanks.
I favour brining the cleats back as far as the shoe will allow. If you are keen on learning more, I have a 'Bike Fit Yourself' online course. It's just $99AUD for lifetime access. If interested, email me direct at setup@custombikefit.com and I'll send you a one time 20% discount code
Is the garmin mount can be removed from this system and I can still use it?
Yes, the Garmin mount can be removed - no issue
I’ve lost my “clip” that attaches to the hydration system. Basically came loose and fell off during a ride…where can I buy the clip? Is it included with the purchase of the hydration system or included with the faceplate or sold separately? Worried I won’t be able to find another “clip”
It's included with the purchase of the hydration system Christopher and doesn't appear to be available as a spare part. That said, if you send me an email to setup@custombikefit.com and let me know where you are located, I'll do my best to find you one
Oh bummer…I’m in brookpark, Oh. Zip 44142
Hi where you located?
We're in QLD Australia on the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton. By all means email setup@custombikefit.com and we'll do our best to help you
Hi, i had aero bars on my old 25,8 diameter handlebar. My new bar beeing 31,8 doesn't fit anymore for the aerobars. Its eightee way to big or to thin firther to the sides. Any suggestions? Can i use soacers to make the handlebar bigger towars the ends?
You will need to update the aerobars
I'm having some hip impingement since my last bike fit. Would moving the saddle more forward open up the hip?
It's hard to give advice without seeing you on the bike. Moving the saddle forward can open up the hip angle, but it can also cause issues. Moving the armrests up may be a safer option. By all means email me at setup@custombikefit.com
Can i rotate the bracket 180 degrees so that the computer holder is facing forward?
Yes, but then the bottle will likely obscure the computer. You'd be better off using a Profile design UCM Aerobridge, or the 76 Projects mounts
royal waste of time. thanks sir
This has been my favorite episode so far. I love how the coach talks about being mindful during every session to get the most out of it and to then be more relaxed after the session has finished.
Is there any way at all to use the FastTT plate along with the Trek mono plug in? I bought the plate thinking it was installed on top of the mono plug-in similar to how the original trek "bridge" is installed. Plan was to use the fasttt plate so that I could use 51 Speedshop cups & wedges

Cool honest review 👌🏻 I'm a giant trinity & propel owner. But also a specialized fan boy tbh. But same I went with the Trinity and propel, vs. The venge and transition at the time... because of price; because the spec version of similar bikes were 2,500 to 3,000 $ more in price but the transition when observed had a faulty fork/headset design that rubbed itself to crumble on its proprietary edges when turning the fork all the way to left/right for car fitment. Which seemed like a design fail on specs part. So I got the Trinity and never looked back. Upgraded from a Kestrel Talon TT bike, been happy ever since. wba. I don't feel the NEED to upgrade it, since everything I ride it, people say "nice NEW bike". And they are surprised when I tell them it's like 5 or 6 years old, really. It is at the higher echelon of tt tech IMHO, so I'm staying w it for many a year. Done.
Is the first one the diamond black / iris color? What a whippet!
Hi I liked the ISM Reef but it kept breaking and the leather came away after 6 mths. They think it's because I'm riding on the nose too much, but I don't actually, I'm quite central. So I've ordered the PN4.1 hoping that it'll be a bit more robust, do you think it'll be okay?
Hard to say without analysing your position @natashabarton7134 I offer a remote/virtual fitting service if you feel you need help dialing in the position. Just shoot me an email to setup@custombikefit.com
I used this but could never figure out how to remove the container to wash it.
email me at setup@custombikefit.com and I'll walk you through how to take it apart
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Could you tell me which extensions exactly you're using for the second option? My Trinity has the Giant flatter extensions but I'd like to try the ones you have fitted.
The 2nd option utilizes the standard Trinity extensions with a 15 degree wedge from Speedmetrics. It's the wedge that creates the high hand position
@@custombikefit466 Oh I thought you said they were very similar but a different brand. Thought perhaps they were some Profile ones. Cheers, very helpful video for me!
Thank you
Im looking at buying a Ism for my road bike. Anywhere between 20-60 miles in 1 go. What ism would you recommend
The ISM PS2.0 is their flagship road saddle, but I would also consider the Specialized Power saddle
Many thanks I do appreciate it
Great video!!
thank you
Can you put 28c tires?
Yes, I believe so
that just sold it for me!! Thanks for that video!!!
Happy to help Martin. If you need any further guidance, feel free to email me at setup@custombikefit.com
Thanks for the review. I'll look into your TT fit information. I can use all the help I can get in the 70+ Masters Men TT races. :-)
I'd love to assist. By all means email me at setup@custombikefit.com
Use them with Fizik shoes to get a true mid foot position
can i clamp these aero bars on a carbon hadnlebars?
It really depends upon the type of bar, whether they've been reinforced either side of the stem clamping area and the manufacturers specifications. I'm afraid I can't make a universal call either way
Awesome vid but wow, that Retul bike though 😍
I doubt you're still helping with fits 5 years later, but I just wanted to mention that I've been riding a pn3.1 40 for about four years now and I can never ride for more than an hour before my sit bones are on fire. I'm going through some videos today to see if there are any adjustments I can make to help with that. Height, fore and aft, tilt etc. I will say that ISM has amazing customer service. If you call, odds are the owner or his wife will answer the phone, this is the guy who designed these saddles and he's more than willing to spend some time aking sure you choose the right saddle for your needs and if there is an issue they'll take care of it. I just wish I could find a way to make this saddle comfortable for long rides.
where are you based? By all means send me an email to setup@custombikefit.com and I'll see if I can help you. I'm still bike fitting - 11 years now
I have a Specialized Shiv and it’s very true that the arm rest tend to flex on the side. Will the profile design ergo or revolvers fit if I intend to switch the arm rest?
Yes they'll fit with a little modification
This looks nice..... my question is.... the mono riser, going to a double riser, is this more aero ?? ive pre ordered a trek speed concept slr9 SRAM Red axs, and I am looking at a different cockpit for when it arrives, or just after ... not sure yet if I should just get fitted ride it see how I feel or change the cockpit. do you have these attachments already for this bike. disc brake version.
Hi Sam, it's the rider that creates the vast majority of the drag. Mono or dual riser really isn't going to make much of a difference in the scheme of things. Send me an email to setup@custombikefit.com or call me on 0400510515 and we can discuss in more detail. Regards, Michael
I saw this bike in Noosa. Loved the cock pit set up...googled it!
Price for this setup? Cheers
Around $2,300AUD inc duty and taxes. By all means shoot me an email at setup@custombikefit.com and I can give you a firm price if you're still keen
Exactly what I was looking for,. Thanks so much for the video!
I have the same bike i just placed a spacer on the upper arm rest to tilt it a bit and modified an arm resr copying the tririg scoops. It all worked for me, not just so praying mantis like this but it made my arm confortable. Now i am only gripping the upper part of the aerobar where the di2 buttons are placed but i sticked a bathroom tape to get more grip
Well done! If you'd like to learn more about how you can improve your comfort and performance on the bike, please consider my NEW online course go.custombikefit.com/bfyt-1266
How easy (or how challenging) is it to install a Profiledesign HSF aeria hydration system on the IA Advanced? I already have the aeria stem + hydration system which i used on a previous bike. Thanks in advance.
It really depends upon the cockpit and whether it's a rim or disc brake model. If you send me some pics to setup@custombikefit.com I'll have a look and let you know

Very useful, as I considering buying this bike in 2023)))! Thank you
Do these things ever go on sale?
Hi Brett, if you enroll in my 'Bike Fit Yourself Triathlon' course, you qualify for a 15% discount on all FastTT products
3T Aduro cradles with Ceegee pads are super comfortable and allow movement fore and aft for hills. I ride flat arms. The hands up position is slower for me via real-world testing.
it's good to know what works for you. Well done!
Sending this to a friend , smart idea.
Realy good idea! I will try out! 🎉
Thanks @oszy01 I'd love to see you in the course
THIS is outdated

Thank you!
Can you send a link where i can buy that aero bar?
www.fasttt.bike/
I have 26mm dropbar and got the profile sonic ergo 50a. It says online it’ll fit bars 26-31.8mm but the tightest it goes is 31.8mm, am I missing a different clamp? Thanks!
The older style aerobars shipped with a spacer to allow fitting to the bars with a smaller diameter. The newer Sonic Ergo range don't include that part and I don't believe it's available as a separate item
Do you need risers?
I have a aeroad that is quite agressive position. The aero pads feel too low. Would you buy th 70 mm? I cant hold the position longer than 30 sec
@@Seba-or9bn many of my clients end up with risers, but it's all dependent upon how they're setup. I have just created a DIY bike fit course for triathletes that I'm sure you'd find beneficial. You can learn more here: go.custombikefit.com/bfyt-1266
This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
