This is BS.. It was already debunked. Krys DID shoot a big Crocodile. But, it was NOT 28 feet long, and, it did NOT weigh 4,000 lbs. There was NEVER any evidence to confirm the Croc Krys shot was that size. There has NEVER been a Crocodile killed, or, caught that was longer than 23 feet, or, heavier than 2,400 lbs. But, as usual, it does not take much for the mind of imperfect, sinful humans to run wild with their imaginations beofre they start spreading outright BS and false tales. This is just another example of silliness.

I've been to Normanton as a kid in 1971 learned to swim at the pool there. I didn't know then that this supposed monster was shot there I have read much since about reptile extremes. The skull of Krys was retrieved and still exists and I'm pretty sure it measures ~66-67 cm from snout to occiput which puts it at a full 10 feet shorter @ 18 ft but still a huge croc. Same length (66 cm) as the famous maneater killed in Luzon in 1823 from a supposed 27 ft reptile, (skull is in the Harvard Natural History museum) and oft quoted in the Guinness Book of records and why I think The Pawlowski's decided to best that "record" with another exaggeration. The longest on record is 76 cm from Vietnam killed in the 1800's (In a Paris Museum) and Lolong was 70 cm from a legit 20 ft 4 inch croc.

Is it just me, or does the croc in the picture, with chick sitting on it, which is genuine I believe, look way smaller than the statue. Maybe the length is right, tape measure would sort that out but the overall scale looks exaggerated to me. A bit of poetic licence perhaps? You may know it as QLDBS!

1823. A notorious maneater was shot in the Philippines. 27 feet. Estimated at 4,400lbs. They had been feeding it..treated it as a God..turned out to be an unkillable Demon. It’s quite a story! Lost now. The English hunter..heard of its latest attack..and with a guide they went looking. It charged..he fired! But his gun was useless. This was HUGE! A Monster saltwater crocodile. It chased him..and his guide up a tree! Long story short. He spent the night in the tree..after thanking The real...God.he knew what to do. Get..a bigger gun! After a long cold night..in a tree. The Monster of Jala Jala. Went away. They made it back ALIVE! This convinced many...it WAS unkillable. It was used to people...it would come into villages at night. Attracted to noise. Spears..knifes..percussion capped or flintlock rifles had no effect. It killed many...many people. It would...look for people! They had no choice but to flee..or climb trees. He requisitioned an Elephant gun. And after test firing..and becoming familiar with it....they went looking...Again! It charged as before! First shot..BOOM! Took off part of the upper jaw..blinding the beast. He was able to reload. Second shot...BOOM! Right between the eyes! That did it! And...AND? A third shot...you gonna want to be sure. 27ft..4,400lbs. Killer! Took 40 men to haul it to shore. Cut open it had an entire horse in it...cut up in seven pieces. Again...it was being fed. It had NO FEAR! And now....it was Dead! The fear...the Monster of over 50 years. Was dead! Thankfully.

There’s a report of a 30 footer from northern Borneo in the 1920s, the segama river, the local Seluke tribe said it was nearly 200 years old !!!, the guy who reported it was a wealthy British landowner named James Montgomery, apparently he had seen it a couple of times and said it created a massive wave when it started swimming up stream, he measured a sandbank it rested on which said the croc was just over 30 feet !!!!

Prior to the use of gun powder in firearms , sailors had no way to fend off aggressive crocs. There are reports from the Spanish explorers that spoke of crocodiles larger than the long boats they used to move supplies for ship to shore. Those long boats were 25’. I didn’t see much interest in that comparison until modern times when the reports were that “ there are not any 20’ crocodiles “. I’ve flown over areas in the Philippines that looked like it was infested with these and had we gone down we would have never been seen again. It was then I held everyone who fought there in WW2 in the highest regard.
