00:11 CobbleStones - extreme Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) - interesting refraction effect
00:22 GreenOrb - based on another tutorial - the illusion really breaks when the sample sphere rotates
00:33 Opal - imported from Unreal's Example Content. Note - if you migrate this in, it won't work until you set r.Substrate.BytesPerPixel=128 in the DefaultEngine.ini RenderSettings

We're still working on the place we're not going to make our soft opening by July 4th, as we had hoped, but we're close and mostly waiting on permits, electrical, and gas at this point.

This is great. Why did you use your own mesh? I just used the screen. I’m not clear why that isn’t ok.
A couple things - first, I wanted to be sure I had the correct size, and second, I wanted to go through the process from the ground up so that if someone needs to build a specific shape from scratch, they can see how to do it and how to hook everything up. :-)
I still can’t find a tutorial where I can simply texture a common object like a house using this. Instead all I heard are too many words explaining shit I barely understand. I want to texture my shit and move on.
You'll need to find more beginner friendly tutorials about texturing and UV mapping - this is about procedural shading and it's a bit of an advanced topic. Good Luck!

great concise talk about the new material system. It will take a while before the community will fully understand how to use it but its already apparent Substrate is a great innovation.

They didn’t show them during this talk, but a couple of them, including the opal, are included in the Content Examples project :-)
