Let us suppose we have a spring of natural length l and spring constant k and two masses m1 and m2. Now suppose we have centre of mass at origin. Let position of m1 is x1 and that of m2 is -x2. So expansion of spring will be x1+x2-l. Now since CM is at origin so m1 x1 = m2 x2 and m1 v1 = m2 v2 . Now use conservation of energy and let maximum compression in spring is Xmax then 1/2 k(Xmax)^2 = 1/2 k ( x1+x2-l)^2 + 1/2 m1 (v1)^2 + 1/2 m2 (v2)^2. If you use these general equations you can get whatever you want. Or you can also use reduced mass method in which you replace both block by a single block of mass M= m1×m2 / (m1+m2). Frequency will be same and for displacement and velocities use above mentioned equations.

Frequency who have to find by the above method. if initial or final expansion of spring is given then you can easily calculate amplitude. Then just write shm equations as you know X1 = A1 sinwt. A1 m2 = A2 m1. If you are still confused...I will make a video on it...

Is it's theory is sufficient?? Mains and advance because I have material for question practice. But for theory is physics galaxy sufficient?? Can I get 100 percentile in physics if I thoroughly study it??
It's best book ..few topics are missing but whatever is there that is best...i suggest otherwise because you said you don't have any teacher. It's slightly difficult book .
You can get 100 percentile...no doubt about the Book.. physics galaxy books are my first priority

As far as theory is concerned both Books are good. Since you are asking at this time dec and I am considering you are in 11 standard and you do not have anyone who can clear your doubts then Cengage will be better for you.

Hello sir, a bit off topic question, sir few months back, I used to solve problems from your channel and I was consistent in studies but in last 4 months I am distracted and I failed to keep up with my coaching. My coaching has completed com, rotational and fluid mechanics and is starting with shm and soon waves. So sir, I want to focus on fluid and shm, waves now as they are easier and less weightage and I will complete com, rotational afterwards before 12th. So sir can I proceed? And will I be able to understand the concepts without com and rotational? and sir my kinematics, laws of motion, work power energy are good thanks to you and my practice in them. Please guide me sir .
Yes you can proceed because the remaining chapters of class 11 SHM KTG THERMODYNAMICS WAVES do no need mastery over rotation & fluid mechanics. If possible just have slight overview of these topics because sometimes there can be mixed concepts problems. So don't worry...just proceed as you are planning. Thanks for your appreciation 🙏.. As I've heard illustrations are part of the theory. Your reply will be appreciated.
If you are unable to understand some solutions then may be there is some typo or misprint or concept which are not read by you yet or there can be really some misunderstanding of concept. So the most important part is - if you are able to solve practice problems without any hint , then there is no problem but if not then conceptual understanding is lacking. Hope it helps...
