    It seems that you are lying to yourself... The Bible is clear and cannot be changed... Polygamy is the basis... You left the law of God and followed the law of the pagan Romans... Christians in general suffer from social hypocrisy and contradiction in life

    Why do these people spread blasphemy? So sad polygyny is not an abuse it is a responsibility and a blessing. Jesus had no wife except the Church and the Ecclesiastes. Stop lying on the Prophets of God.

    4:05 where is the scripture stating in either the old OR new testament that polygamy is an “atrocious sin?” i don’t necessarily agree with it, but if we don’t have scripture references denouncing it - how can we say that it’s wrong? i genuinely do come from a place of wanting to understand if this is wrong or not, but without a reference stating otherwise… i don’t see how it could be considered a “sin.”

    • @FreeBornChurch
      @FreeBornChurch 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a good question. There are a couple of points I invite you to consider: First, the idea that sin is defined by the Bible is wrong. There are many sins that are not mentioned in the Bible. For example, the Bible doesn't condemn slavery, abortion, or drug abuse. And it obviously doesn't name things that are sin to specific individuals, such as eating meat, dancing, and gambling; sins against the conscience. Jesus reproved the pedantic legalist approach that strained out gnats but swallowed camels. ("You heard it said of old... but I say...") Hence the New Testament expands our understanding of sin explaining that sin is knowing good and not doing it as well as acting outside the boundaries of Christian faith. So sin is much broader than the few samplings it provides, and this is why James exhorts us to live as those that would be judged by the law of liberty, not the law graven in tablets. Second, the Bible does condemn polygamy. Jesus taught that marriage must be in accordance to God's original design of one man and one woman for life (Mark 10). He applied this directly to divorce, but the principle that invalidates divorce also applies to polygamy, same-sex, and every other divergent union. And Paul echos this in his writing about marriage saying that if a person cannot be married to another so long as the previous spouse is alive, else they are an adulterer (Romans 7). Third, marriage is not a human innovation that must comply with the negative requirements of God's righteousness. In other words, everything not expressly forbidden is permitted. Rather it is a sacred covenant and must comply with the positive design of God. Whatever is not prescribed is forbidden. So marriage between more than one man and one woman for life is forbidden. It is a binding, exclusive covenant, bringing anyone else into that covenant breaks the covenant.

      @@FreeBornChurchCouldn't you say that abortion is notably a sin because it is directly related to Moloch worship and the sacrificing of babies?

    Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart" [contextual comment: this was God talking in regards to taking a second wife] -Genesis 20:6 God literally said to Abimilek that taking a second wife would be an act of integrity. Nobody in the Church has faced this fact or even tried to address it, and I bet you will not either.

    I might as well ask this here. Is Romans 5:19 and example God using legal fiction?

    • @FreeBornChurch
      @FreeBornChurch ปีที่แล้ว

      That question assumes that God "uses legal fiction", and even more importantly, it assumes that God is subject to the law and thereby bound to satisfy it, even if only fictionally. I don't subscribe to either of these assumptions. There are other interpretations of Romans 5 than this Protestant forensic perspective. I believe that God stipulated that everyone sinned in Adam so as to skip past calling every single human who would ever live as a witness against themselves, and jumped right to the redemption and justification phase. And that he also stipulates that in Jesus all will be righteous. Not simply "declared" righteous (legal fiction) but "made righteous". That is, made right with God (reconciliation), but also made right through God (redemption), but also made to be right for God (justification). An analogy would be a watch that is broken. It is made right in the sense that it is salvaged from the scrap heap and repaired. But it is also made right in that it is set to the correct time. But it is also made right in that it is put in proper working order so that it can keep time, seemingly of its own 'volition'. Good question. Hope this helps. Or at least hope it opens further discussion in this very important doctrine.

    Hello, good afternoon

    God had two wives in Ezekiel 23: Ohalah and ohalabah. Are you sure you want to call God a sinner? According to your logic God disapproves of Himself for having two wives. You're arguments are not only unbiblical, they are illogical. Isaiah 4 totally contradicts your argument that only monogamy makes women invaluable. This short chapter ties it closely to one of Isaiah's Messianic promises. The human husband and divine husband together provide a protective covering for many women who would othewise be without a Godly husband. The Bible requires death for homosexuality. The Bible regulates polygyny; it does not condemn it like sodomy (e.g., Ex 21:10). Your statement that they are equivalent is based on self-righteous ignorance of what the Bible actually says. You've obviously never done a comprehensive topical/doctrinal Bible study on the subject. Nowhere does the Bible say "one man for one woman". Please stop twisting the inspired Word.

  • @robertdavidson9674
    @robertdavidson9674 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Bible doesn't prohibit the king from having multiple wives, rather "multiplying wives". There's a difference in adding a multiplying. He was also not to multiply horese. Does that mean the king couldn't have two horses?

We were in touch after we left the Army and we would chat from time to time till he abruptly stopped communication. That Sergeant he didn't like was Malone. How well I remember. Ha, ha. Trino was a great guy with a good heart and soul, always meant well. Very pleasant memories. We would go all around Germany in my Volkswagen enjoying our Army days. I also remember the fellow he was talking about was Ruiz. Trino got married to his girlfriend. There was also another close friend Martinez. Great times and good memories.

    Humanists are haunted by the bad things they do. We are constantly trying to do good, and feel intense guilt over the bad we do. You are making assumptions. Humanism began as a reaction to an severely corrupt Roman Catholic Church. Humanists do not think the world is good. We want to make the world better by being more like Jesus. Millions died in religious wars. Greed started WW I not humanists. Do better.

    I agree with you brother. I lived polygamy for 22 years. I was one of five, and although I felt like my husband loved me sometimes, I knew that I was never that important to him. I agree with what you said, because I have found the scriptures in the bible that declare what you said. Dueteronomy 17:17, 1 Timothy 3:2, 12, Titus 1:6, Leviticus 18, Matthew 19:4-6. I no longer live polygamy today, because God's true word tells me not to and that it is a sin. My chains are gone. I've been set free. All because the goodness of God.
