bro, You're breaking a lot of laws. I will tell you if DNR catches you, you'd be in some big trouble. First off, theres a size limit on caribbean lobster, and those were well under the limit. Secondly, It is illegal to shoot them with a spear gun or hawaiian sling. You can only snare them or its a big fine. Third you should make sure they have no eggs, or another big fine. I admire your interest and as a licensed fisherman myself in St Croix with 650 dives completed, I recommend you to make sure you follow the rules because DNR doesn't mess around if they catch you. I recommend going to Home depot and making your own lobster snare. Then go see Lance and buy a cheap Beuchat spear gun. Go visit some of the local fishermen and make friends, they might show you some tricks and how to make a good lobster snare. I bet Rico would take you out with him. Fish like a local and you'll do well.

Shouldn't be using powerheads on big fish upper mid/column unless you're gonna have an immediate back up shot with a spear. Can't ever expect the shaft with the powerhead to hold. Doesn't matter so much when you're on or able to get to bottom to recover the fish. I think you got a little to excited knowing you had new powerhead to use and just pulled the trigger without thinking.
