“Lamento d'Ophelia” is a composition I wrote for piano around 1992, and it was in 2021 that I undertook to write a version for piano and synthesizers. This is a reworked version of the latter.
The reference I had in mind when I first developed this theme was, of course, the character of Ophelia in Hamlet, who is drowning, and the wonderful painting by the painter John Everett Millais, which I have always adored.
I hope to create a bridge here between poetry, melancholy and modernity. I hope you enjoy it.
