Phalaenopsis Odorion Crown Rot 😩
มุมมอง 193วันที่ผ่านมา
While watering my Phalaenopsis orchids, I discovered that my Phalaenopsis Odorion suffered crown rot. I am going to treat the crown with cinnamon and hope the plant will produce a keiki, which is a baby orchid. My suspicion is that I missed some droplets of water that fell into the crown the last time I watered. Orchids are amazing and can come back strong, so I am very hopeful and confident a ...

Cool project. I'm curious to see the results. I hope the nodes are successful!
@@annavoeggia816 thanks, love projects like these to try out.

@@Rufiat99 I’m hoping it’s not a total failure. Feels like a science project. 😃
The root system of that fern is going to take over the pot, please place it in a separate pot, pretty please
You have a beautiful space and some geogeous plants
@@nekebahope8459 thank you so much!
Just had the same happen last month... fingers crossed!
@@PetalsSepalsandSpines oh no, you have one too! I hope yours forms a keiki! We are both on keiki watch. 👀
Such a cutie. It seems floriferous. I imagine you'll get quite a show in its future blooming.😊
@@annavoeggia816 2 1/2 months blooming so far…still making more buds…Amazing 😍
That's a bummer! I hate when that happens. It's such a pretty orchid, leaves, color, and fragrance. I hope it forms a keiki. 🤞 .
Oh no! 😥 maybe your keiki will come soon.
@@Melissa-loves-orchids hi 👋🏻 thankfully Phals are tough and hopefully this one will rally. It certainly has a great base to build from so I’m very hopeful.
I never had any spider mites on my Phals. Good luck, I hope all will be good from now on !!!
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids thanks…I was so surprised seeing the damage on my Phal. And the ones right next to it, nothing. They are perfectly fine. I’m thinking because there might be something wrong with it that they targeted this one. But really only the spider mites know. 🤔
Subur banget plant anggrek nya
Wow🎉🎉love your growing space. Stunning collection. 😊
@@BloomingGoodOrchids thank you so much 💕 It’s a work in progress. I’m adjusting things all the time for the orchids and aesthetics. I think that’s part of the reason I love the hobby so much. Keeps me on my toes! 😍
Ok, i see there's grow light above the plant.
@@hongxu4160 hi 👋🏻 yes, I do have grow lights above the orchids.
Doe's north window bright enough for those orchids? Do you use grow light?
Hi, love your orchids, they are beautiful.
You have a nice selection of Phal blooms😊 The Phal at 15:10 has a very pretty color
@@annavoeggia816 hi 👋🏻 thanks so much! that Phal stopped me in my tracks. One of the 2 that started me down this hobby. Soooo pretty 😍
Digging your intro! Wow! Pretty epic! I really enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful flowers. They look very well-cared-for.
@@anndriggers6660 awww thanks! I love the drama of that intro. When I first played it for my husband he was like are you sure you want it that serious sounding and I was like yeah…it’s serious business trying to keep these orchids alive! Hah…but fun! I used to use it all the time. Now I insert it if I’m not too long winded in a video. Thanks for watching! 💕
I really like your channels. You have some beautiful orchids. Thank you for sharing with us.😊
@@anndriggers6660 Thank you for watching! Some of mine are really starting to take off. I still have so many young ones. It will be interesting to see where I’m at with all of them in a few years. I’m sure some will be lost but hopefully lots more in bloom, especially the Dendrobiums. Challenge accepted!
😍
A very cool haul. The Sarcochilus pot will look awesome when all 3 bloom! 🤞
Wow! You have quite the Schilleriana collection! Wonderful leaves. 🤩
Very beutiful plant and healthy
MasyaAllah very beutiful flower
@@Rufiat99 thanks Rufiat…you are always so supportive! You inspire me to keep sharing! 💕
Congrats on your first-time bloomers! Those are some pretty flowers. The Phaius and Maxillaria blooms are really nice! I always enjoy seeing your selection of Sarcochilus. I have difficulty getting mine to bloom. I think I'll have to put them outdoors for the winter.
@@annavoeggia816 Thank you 💕 It’s been an exciting spring and beginning of summer. The hot weather has me running around watering like crazy 🤪 And yes, Sarcochilus seem to need the colder winter to spike. They grow beautifully inside but won’t spike for me. They are all outside now except one which is in recovery. When it’s stronger it will go outside too.
that's a great Maxillaria! nice work with that one...thanks for sharing!
Thank you!! 💕
Lovely blooms, Dee Dee. The first blooms are always so special, a.payback from all the care and love we have given to our orchids. I can see they are all shaded. Is it the time of the day or do they ever get any direct sun? I noticed how spotless your Bletilla leaves are. Mine are growing vigorously but as the season progresses they get brown leaves so I wonder weather I should keep them more shaded.
Hi Fernanda - I have another Bletilla in a pot which receives several hours of direct light and the leaves are raggedy and have been attacked by aphids periodically. But the ones above my fountain, no problems. Might just be luck. As to my collection outside under the patio roof, most receive 2-4 hours of direct sun in the morning and then they are under cover. My Cattleyas on the eastern side of the house get a peek of direct sun and then the shade cloth keeps them protected. I’m concerned it might be too much cover for them but this is my first summer trying to grow them outdoors in the heat. I’ve sunburnt a few leaves already so I’ll see how they do and go from there. Thanks for checking out my outdoor orchids. I dream of someday having a refined garden like yours with pathways and orchids mounted to trees. 💕
Teras rumah terlihat sangat indah dgn aneka macam bunga
Thank you so much. It’s so exciting to get new blooms and rebloom. It boosts the enjoyment of each season. Wishing you happiness and a great start to the month of July!
You have quite a collection 😊
When my first Catasetums purchased flowered the first year I was surprised by how similar they all looked. But I’ll never toss a plant. So then these past couple years I’ve been trying to get varying colors, with some success. But that’s usually how I end up with so many orchids, I see a color of bloom I don’t have and cha ching, I buy it. lol 😂
@@deedeeblooms7896 🤣 Good for you. I wish I could do the same but I already have too many other plants lol.
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids me too…too many! But I love them all 💕
I also keep the good roots from previous years but I have my only one (Fredclarkeara after dark) in semi hydro with leca. Which, after all is a modification of the pet method. The only advantage is that I always use same leca but the result ends up being the same ❤❤❤
Ooooo I like the idea of leca. But is leca a soft enough substrate to grow the new roots. In a couple years I might just switch totally to inorganic media. Thanks!
@deedeeblooms7896 Roots love it as long as you never let leca dry out. I have two microfibers going from the deposit up into the middle of the pot that keep the leca always moist. In winter I keep the deposit dry but I make sure the microfibers stay damp. And it has worked well, so far. The older PSB did not ever shrink. I follow this method I learned from Nina although it is the only orchid I use leca with.
I've really been liking the PET method also. I implemented it, for the first time, with my one and only Cycnoches and it's doing great. I remember Stephen Van Kempen Lewis mentioning that PET refers to the type of plastic. I looked it up and it stands for Polyethylene terephthalate which is the material many of our plastic containers are made of. I would've never guessed. Lol
Way cool you figured out what PET stands for. I was looking and looking, but gave up. Only so much time in the day!

Hello my friend
So many beautiful orchids. I’m glad for a California perspective like me. Most people are in Florida.😊
@@pauladixon-williams3246 well hi neighbor!! I still love to watch Florida grower videos but it’s not the same as trying to grow them in So Cal. Although so far this summer the humidity outside has been higher than normal. Thanks for watching!
Beutiful collection
Wow congratulations for your first bloom. You have so many beautiful orchids collection. Enjoyed full watching. Joined new friend. Stay connected. Lk 19
Thanks so much! The bloom is still going strong. Love it 💕
So many pretty blooms! Your oncidium varieties look really nice and they're doing wonderfully for you. 😊
I struggled with them until I got them into self watering. Then things turned around. Very happy with the results 💕
Wow!!😮
It’s in bloom now with 2 spikes…I’ll be posting a grow room update where the blooms will be shown. It’s an amazing, easy to grow Oncidium hybrid.
Nice haul! I just love Sarcochilus and repotted mine just this afternoon, all 33 of them.
Wow…33! You must be exhausted 🥱
@@deedeeblooms7896 Yep, spend over 3 hours unpotting, cleaning them up and repotting. The vid will be online (in a shorter version) next weekend.
Gorgeous ❤
Nice haul. Love your new Sarcochilus. I'm curious about it's fragrance. 😊 And of course the blooms on your other Sarcochilus are super pretty.
I was shocked when I discovered the fragrance. I was sitting near it and I kept smelling something very lovely. I looked around and no other orchid was nearby in bloom except this new Sarcochilus. And WOW! It’s sweet like juicy fruit gum. Yum!
Beautiful plants! Are they reasonably priced?
Hi- yes their plants are very reasonable in price. For example the new little Brassia was under $15. The 4” blooming size Phal was $38. A good portion of my blooming Oncidiums started tiny from this vendor and most have bloomed within 2 years. Very vigorous and well grown young plants.
@@deedeeblooms7896 thank you!
