Lucy: The Saddest Elephant in the World
Join Billie Groom as she delves deep into the controversy surrounding Lucy, the lone elephant at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, in an eye-opening podcast series. In this episode, Billie sits down with Yvonne Luscombe, an independent advocate deeply involved in Lucy's plight.
Together, they unravel the heartbreaking history of Lucy, from her traumatic beginnings as a baby elephant to her solitary confinement spanning 46 long years. Through their candid conversation, Billie and Yvonne shed light on the questionable practices of the zoo and the ongoing efforts to free Lucy from her confinement. Through meticulous research, captivating interviews, and compelling evidence, Yvonne delves into Lucy's harrowing journey of confinement.
Explore the complexities of Lucy's captivity as they discuss the zoo's claims of her being "bonded" and the inadequacy of governmental responses to her welfare concerns. With empathy and urgency, they emphasise the need for decisive action to improve Lucy's living conditions and advocate for her transfer to a sanctuary.
Tune in and become part of the movement advocating for Lucy's freedom and well-being. It's time to shed light on her plight and demand justice for the world's saddest elephant.

I have to admit that I haven't yet read the Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy. However, I have listened to both parts of this extraordinary interview. What this ex trainer and his sister have exposed is enough to dissuade anyone with an once of compassion to avoid visiting a dolphinarium. The passion, despair and (dare I say) guilt in this trainers testimony shines through the normal fluffy activism displayed by many in his field who deem themselves to be experts. This is a story that - given enough publicity - could bring an end to this cruel form of entertainment. With this in mind, can I thank Erika Salvemini for bringing David Cappello's jaw-dropping interview to the public notice.

So happy to hear that our two ground-breaking interviews attacking the aqua circus have hit home. Everything David says is true and comes straight from the heart - a testimony that has been authenticated by its inclusion in a UK museum exhibition named Faces of South Elmsall. Yet, incredibly, many UK animal welfare charities have either ignored or refused to endorse David’s exposé - an unbelievably cowardly act by so-called animal protectors. Both David and I would like to thank you for taking the time to listen and for commenting.

The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy shows clearly how awful it is to keep Cetaceans in captivity! The Aqua-Circus is 100% pure cruelty. It also can help to understand why there is no "human" way to hunt and kill cetaceans in the wild! Especially small Cetaceans are being hunted and killed in too many places around the world and it needs to stop! And all Facilities with captive Cetaceans need to be shut down! The industry of captive cetacens isn't acceptable anymore and actually never was. There are facilities in which holographic dolphins and whales can be seen as if they were alive. It's a possibility for kids and people who can't go on a nice boat for dolphin or whale watching. And it's cruelty-free!

Everyone who read The Perfect Pair books for sure especially is in love with Scouse! Such a brave little boy 🥰 may your sweet soul rest in eternal peace, Scouse! May all the poor tortured cetaceans who had to pass away in captivity swim fast and play happily in the ocean of Heaven!

Thank you for again for making comment on those cursed Atlanteans that featured in the Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy expose. Dolphins that so many powerful people & orgs have worked for decades to "cover up"! But no more! Our expose has brought their tragic lives to the gaze of the general public & those unknowing people who would visit the aqua-circus venues. Lets hope that with the help of activists like you we can close down this horrible Industry for good.

@@tracyjholroyd4641 we will never be silent about the truth and one day the ingorants might change their wrong mindset. Maybe it's still necessary for the Pro-Aqua-Circus clowns to witness another tragedy to understand that all captive Cetaceans are being abused and cannot be happy in a swimming pool!

The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy is the most important exposé about the horrors behind closed doors of the industry that profits from the captivity of dolphins and whales! Everyone who truly loves dolphins and whales should go see them in the wild! If anyone still thinks that a dolphin in any captive facility (swim-with-dolphins-programs or dolphinarium) can be happy and well cared for, urgently needs to read these books! I love The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy from the bottom of my heart and although the truth can be hard to digest I'd highly recommend to animal lovers to read these books! "You will never see a dolphin in the same light again!" David Capello 💗

You are RIGHT !- when you say that this series of books IS the most important expose about the horrors of the aqua circus to date... because the story is TRUE! A story that for decades has been "covered up" by those who ran the UK aqua circus all those years ago. A "cover up" that sadly many UK charities & their directors have maintained to protect their self imposed "expert status". Thank you for taking the time to comment Gucky.

Wow what a powerful interview! exposing the brutal truth of all the abuse and harm done to the dolphins behind the scenes of those shows, which are only interested in making profit at the cost of a living being. I also read the Perfect Pair Dolphin trilogy , which touched me deeply. I already knew that some dolphins from the brutal Dolphin drive hunt in Taiji were sold to the shows and dolphinaria. I hope it encourages trainers to follow tread.

This is brilliant! Since the beginning of the publishing of the Trilogy, I have been a huge supporter of David and Tracy and Im their biggest fan. There passion, dedication, and relentless drive to get this published is second to none! Davids desire to get the truth of how vile the captive industry is and expose just how cruel and inhumane dolphins were treated is from deep within his heart. You can tell by his words, not just in the books but in this interview, how much he loved his Dolphins. I cant tell you how many times I have cried reading the books..feeling his pain..feeling the suffering of the dolphins. If these books…this story does not change peoples minds about the captive industry I don't believe anything can. The fight to get the truth exposed and acknowledge was a long hard battle for them and its not over…the UK has admitted it! Now the US knows…thanks to things like this interview and all advocates sharing everything they can…this war can be won, battle by battle. So thank you Erica for being a General in our Army and leading a very large troop into battle! I cant wait to see how much response this interview brings. Fight on warriors. Much love to you my friends David and Tracy..well done! Shelley Guinn

It is clear to us that your priority is the welfare of our precious Atlanteans. No hidden agendas. Only truth, for which we thank you.

    @craignico681 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

'When you have nothing left to give, you are done.' David’s words truly shook me, more than most people realize. And it's all because of The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy. Reading this trilogy was one of the most emotionally challenging experiences I've ever had, mainly because I know that it's 100% true. From the sinister industry to the physical and mental abuse, and what I would call the murder of these beautiful Atlanteans. The book series chronicles how their torture begins on day one of captivity, continues throughout their lives, and ends in unspeakable ways. This trilogy isn't just a read; it's a life-changing experience for the better. As I mentioned in my comment in part one of this video interview, the companies claiming ownership of these dolphins will stop at nothing to extract every last dollar from them. The behind-the-scenes abuse and torture they endure, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, are beyond our comprehension. Imagine being locked in an inescapable prison, subjected to relentless abuse-now multiply that by an unprecedented number, and you might begin to grasp their suffering. Then, at the end of their tragic journey, when they have nothing left to give, when they're old, sick, or weak, they mysteriously pass away. Take Scouse, for example. They found a razor blade in his stomach. How could that happen by accident? It can't. Even worse, these broken dolphins sometimes resort to suicide by ramming their heads into the concrete pool walls. Read The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy, and you'll understand. The third book of the trilogy is the one that hit me the hardest. For some reason, Duchess and Herb'e, the dolphins David trained, will capture your heart. You'll root for them and cheer for them, then they will break your heart. Reading about their premature deaths crushed me. I can only imagine how David feels, having worked hand-in-hand with them for years. Believe me, I could continue talking about this exposé endlessly, which is why I feel that everyone should read it. The only way to make a significant impact on this abusive industry is for people to stop visiting dolphinariums, aquariums or any other place that charges to see these beautiful animals perform. Sadly, many are unaware of the cruelty behind the scenes, so they inadvertently support it. That's why it's crucial for everyone to raise awareness about this issue. In conclusion, I stopped going to all zoos and aquariums because of David Capello’s exposé. Before I read it, I used to take my children there multiple times a year. But after reading the trilogy and understanding the horrors of the captive animal industry, and how it brought tears to my eyes numerous times, I had to stop visiting these places. David and Tracy's message hit home with me - and they absolutely nailed it!

"Dolphin conservation and dolphin exploitation are two sides of the same coin." Take a moment to appreciate the power of this quote. To fully understand its meaning, it's essential to listen to part one of this interview, which will undoubtedly lead you to part two - and more eye-opening revelations in the future. Diving right in, David Holroyd (aka David Capello) explains in this video the extent of the captive industry’s quest for money and the surprising number of countries involved. Even worse, they all appear to collaborate. Words fail me when it comes to accurately describing the sheer heinousness and atrociousness of this rotten industry. It is all driven by one motive: profit and growth. Numerous countries have adopted a devastating formula that ultimately results in the death of cetaceans. If you think David’s interview is disturbing, you must read The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy. The physical and mental abuse these dolphins endured is overwhelming, not to mention their daily existence in pools contaminated with cetacean waste and spent chlorine. It is hard to fathom how they survived and performed under such conditions, yet they endured it every day. Thankfully, David would go against company policy in an attempt to mitigate the toxicity by dumping the filthy water - a policy that put him at loggerheads with a greedy management. It is clear to me that David’s experiences continue to haunt him, a weight that hangs heavily on his heart even now. Listening to this interview is harrowing, but thank goodness there are people like David around to challenge the misconceptions of the public. It's truly heartbreaking to realize that countries that slaughter and imprison our precious cetaceans have such scant regard for their well-being. When David enlightens us about dolphins’ and whales’ remarkable ability to communicate with humans, it becomes clear how special they truly are. Indeed, their gift of telepathic connection is a thing of beauty. This interview is extremely impressive, so I eagerly await part two, which I hope will follow soon.

No wonder so many want to silence this whistleblower/trainer. This is a powerful interview by two people who clearly know their stuff. What comes across is their raw passion, something I have never felt when listening to other big trainer interviews. So carry on the good work, because I can't wait to hear part 2 of this interview.

WE NEED TO HEAR MORE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE INNOCENT ATLANTEANS ON ALL MEDIA OUTLETS. DAVID/TRACY HAVE YOU EVER TRIED CONTACTING THE TV SHOW ‘DISPATCHES’? I WAS GLAD TO SEE YOUR POST ON ‘WDC’ F/B PAGE AFTER I’D PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED DAVID ON THERE 👍🏻 HERE’S TO WORLDWIDE MEDIA PICKING UP YOUR STORY FOR A BIGGER AUDIENCE SEEING HOW BADLY THESE SENTIENT MAGICAL BEINGS ARE TREATED & HOW THEY’RE OBTAINED 💔 END CAPTIVITY & EMPTY THE TANKS ✊🏻

Thank you! We did notice your comment on the WDC website and wondered who you are. No need to reveal your identity, but we want you to know just how grateful we are for your support. As for the TV show, Dispatches, we will check it out, but we don't hold out much hope as national media rarely take a chance on unknowns. Here in the UK, media is very cautious when it comes to exposing animal abuse. We saw a BBC newsreel about the Faroe Islands' whale and dolphin massacre cut off mid-way for what the BBC termed as 'breaking news'. The Faroe Islands' newsreel never appeared again. Sadly, this seems to be the way of it in the UK. Here's hoping that the US will go where the UK fears to tread. Thank you again for all your support and your comments.

The monkey's should be allowed to live there, a lot of people want them there. The tourists want to see the monkey's and bring a lot of money to the places where they are. If they are causing problems for the farmers, control them in those areas. Having monkey's makes st maarten a more interesting place to be in my opinion.
