Term limits for SCOTUS are not the answer! No one from either side would want a smart astute judge kicked out because of a time/age limit. The answer is creating an ethical oversight mechanism that allows impeachment after the findings of wrongdoing or bias.

Definitely more legislation needs to be put in place. Forensic background checks, term limits, mental health assessment and age limits. I dont see how it functions right now. Yea, the problem is with the supreme court judges, having a lifetime appointment is ridiculous, I don't want to work at the same job, as long as I'm alive. I think if you want their job as a supreme court judge, I think you should re-up your knowledge of the laws. And yes I do agree with you David as far as having a new round of judges as elections come in. Every four years, change the supreme court judges.

We need to restore balance in the supreme court as prescribed in the consitution.

I view the judge position like I view that wise monkey on lion king. Or that seer on Vikings. There for a very long time due to age and wisdom. People may not like their decisions because times change but they remain the staple elders we need. I think they should stay until they pass away or retire on their own. We are losing connection to eldership.
