Catfish Hunter was my favorite pitcher. I saw him pitch at Yankee Stadium his last year in the majors in 1979. Jim Hunter was a professional with class all throughout his career. That is a wonderful headstone for a man taken from us way too soon. He was not only a great teammate, he taught the Yankees how to win and made them into a championship baseball team. He played with dignity and class. When he was on the mound, his teammates loved him so much, they played much harder and were much more competitive. He was a 20 game winner five consecutive years in a row. Jimmy was just a good Ol’ boy and I miss him dearly. RIP Jimmy and thank you for giving us the great opportunity to know you. God bless you! ❤

I saw the Cars in concert in Hampton, Virginia in early 1981 and thought they were fabulous. It wasn’t a big rock show per se, but they played the songs exactly like the records. There was no conversation and many of the songs never ended they just played into the next song. I thought that was cool. The Cars started in the seventies. Ric Ocasek was almost 37 when I saw them play in 1981. I can imagine he at that point was tired of the road. I think as mainstream popular as the Cars were, they never sold out and did things their way. They were very unique band. Nobody sounded like them and they employed two lead singers. Very intelligent move as singing night after night is hard on the voice.
