Meher Spiritual Center

Meher Center is dedicated to Meher Baba, an Indian Spiritual Master who lived from 1894-1969 and is known by followers worldwide as “the avatar of the age.”
Meher Baba sought to bring all religions together “as beads on one string” and encouraged those around Him to try their best to love God and love other people.
Meher Baba visited the center three times: in 1952, 1956, and 1958. Over the years, the Meher Center has hosted thousands of retreat guests, and even nearly 65 years after Meher Baba’s last visit, His ever loving presence is still palpable.
The 500 acres of woods, marsh, lake, and ocean that are the center sit quietly and serenely, just as they did when Meher Baba was here.
Meher Baba said of the Center, “I never leave. Remember, I do not leave because this is my home.”
The Meher Center invites you to follow along as speakers come and go, musicians, artists, and poets send in beautiful offerings of remembrance, and stay connected to Meher Baba’s home in the west.

"A Small Order is as Important as a Big Order"- Dilmeher Bhola
Dilmeher Bhola is the daughter of Dr. Hoshang Bharucha who was a very close disciple of Meher Baba. During her recent trip to the Center, Dilmeher shared the stories of her father’s coming to Baba, incidents and lessons from his intimate time with Baba, and her own recollections and reflections of growing up in Baba’s fold.

Walk to the Barn and Beach

Meher Center's 500 acres have numerous walking trails. This "virtual walk" takes us on the Yaupon Dunes trail starting by the playground and passing the Barn, where Meher Baba met with larger groups while He was at the Center, before continuing on to the beach.
Robert Een- Music

The Center had the pleasure of hosting Robert Een as the Artist in Residence in April. Robert is an accomplished cellist, singer, composer, and currently teaches music at UCLA.
