My first experience w/ Touch-Less by @bilthamberlaboratories from @ObsessedGarage .
**CORRECTION - In the video I did quick math in a comparison between using a citrus pre-cleaner like Forst by Stjarnagloss, and I claimed the iK Multi Pump sprayer was 2.5L. It is ACTUALLY 1.5L. That being said, it is still more cost effective to run Touch-Less. And remember, I dilute Forst 1:1 w/ distilled water, which is not a recommendation. NOTE that there are cheaper pre-cleaners than Forst, but NOTHING performs like Forst. Which is why I am making this comparision.
I will break down using it straight as well as using it diluted 1:1. Below is the math:
Bilt Hamber Touch-Less:
$43 - 5L from OG
$1.95/use - Each 1000ml Foam Cannon Application @ max PIR of 2% (227ml for each 1000ml cannon app.; thus, 5000ml / 227 = ~22 cannons. $43 / 22 = $1.95... NOTE that this is max PIR. Say you want the least PIR of 1%, cut $1.95 in half and you are at less than A DOLLAR per APPLICATION!!!!
Full Strength Stjarnagloss Forst:
$70 - 5L from TRC
$4.20/use - Personally, if I am using Forst straight up on an entire full sized vehicle, I am going to go through 300ml. Thus, 5000ml / 300ml = 16.66 uses. So, $70/16.66 = $4.20
(not recommended) Diluted 1:1 Stjarnagloss Forst:
$70 - 5L from TRC
$3.50/use - Now, I know the thought is that you would take $4.20, cut it in half, and then you're at $2.10 for a diluted 300ml use, but I dilute 1:1, put it in a pump sprayer, and since I've cut the product with water, I have a tendency to use a total of 500ml of diluted solution. (in the video I actually claimed I'd use half a pump sprayer, but I am never filling my pump sprayer up to a full 1000ml since I want enough air in it to pump, but it all rounds in the end to basically the same amount below). Just how my brain works when I am applying.
The math is: 1500ml pump sprayer, I use 500ml, and half of that is Forst... 250ml, so 5000ml / 250 = 20 uses. $70/20 = $3.50. And if you don't like that and claim you will use the same amount as scenario # 2, so 300 ml (~10oz), then sure, $2.10 per use. Still more than the highest PIR of 2% w/ Touch-Less. And you still won't cover the entire vehicle like you can with a cannon.
If you detail vehicles and you use a pre-cleaner, replace it with Touch-Less. It belongs in your arsenal. It is math, and math for my business will always win.
