How goes the progress for the mod? This looks awesome.
There has been a good number of updates since this video was posted! I'd check the latest videos and the Nexus mod page for updates.
From finally created this area themselves in Elden Ring, but I think we would've gotten something much better than Mountaintops of the Giants if it'd been in Demon's Souls. Would be a dream come true if modders (or even Bluepoint) could get their hands on some of their original plans

I'm trying to replace the dragon boss from Farum Azula with an NPC in Map Editor but after I load the map I have no clue what to do after that or how to navigate the loaded map. I'm able to left click to look around but Idk how to navigate forward or backwards on the mouse.
Hey buddy, i want to know about tour expanded mod for demon souls, i want to install some "graphic mods" for ps3 (like boletaria reborn, hi-res font update and enhanced face texture) and i want to know if they have conflicts with expanded mod, or they are already included too?
They are not included but, any visual/graphics overhaul should be fine to install over Demon's Souls Expanded! Any mods that edit scripts, mapfiles, or text/params will cause conflicts. Thanks for the info. How difficult you think it would be to make a mod that makes the game linear like previous games? (Removing the open world and making the different areas interconnected with seamless transition)
I'm not very certain with Elden Ring, but I'd say rather difficult with how big the game is.
im sad i cant run this mod with the true death mod, i spent last night trying but the true death patches over the archstone added in this mod to warp back to tutorial
Yeah, sadly the scripts and maps conflict :/ someone would have to go into my mod and edit the scripts to allow for true death and the warp/other events. I don't know the script that allows for true death so I haven't attempted it myself.

hey just curious if you are able to set a starting classes base weight to be over encumbered? im doing an escape room type thing and it would just help alot lol. also ive tested a lot of different ways of changing it but are you aware of how to have a different cutscene play in place of one? like for instance dying in chapel playing the final cutscene or something like that
For the first question I think you can by editing the character params in DSMapstudio or with a param editor. The cutscene would be dependent on scripting and that involves editing EMEVD scripts to call for the cutscene you want to play and when as well as a region or trigger in the map file to link to the script.
@@siraw50m34 currently using smithbox and understand how to edit the params of items to make them heavier but in terms of making the player themselves heavier there does not seem to be an option to adjust that, i could get around this issue if i could make an item unable to be unequipped but that as well im not sure i can do

This is so cool! Something about the northern limit intrigues me so much and I’ve always wanted to explore it in game. Any chance you have plans to release a playable version, even if its just an empty map?
Possibly! I Hope to eventually have it mostly working, but in the meantime, I might share the files I have for the Northern Limit. Maybe someone out there can do better than I can.
hello I have one question, if I just want to add more enemies overworld will it cause some issues or it should work out well? I think game engine might not handle a lot of new enemies. I don't plan on adding bosses to open field, I was thinking about more soldiers and other "small" mobs.
I'd say adding enemies shouldn't affect performance too much as long as you aren't adding ridiculous amounts of NPCs.

I loved AC 4A's style of Next and thankfully, a fellow modder made these available. I am just using the mods from Nexus Mods to replace the models I don't really like. Plus, this lets me use the Next I played with back in the day :)
I still dont understand how a videogame about giant metal robots fighting for a conscious red cosmic fart made me in tears at the end great video btw

This is incredible. Demon's on the PS3 is so unique, dare I say the most special From game to date. I hope you keep working on this, thank you.

Put the previous added content back. I hope the dl file going from a gig to 300mb doesn't mean you scubbed 2/3s of you additions. Keep new areas coming.
Certain areas were changed for various reasons and most of the content was reused or reimplemented elsewhere. The files size has just been optimized and redundant files removed.

DAMN, demon's souls modding's looking great! I didn't know flver editing was viable yet!
It's still really rough and hard to do with current tools, but this is a decent example of someone doing it without knowing exactly all there is to know about 3d models and flver files. Someone who knows more probably could have gotten it to work flawlessly, but I'm learning as I go lol.

Damn. Makes me wish that demon's souls was on pc. I can just imagine all the mods that would have been made for it. Especially a 6th archthrone mod. Where we get to explore a finished northern limit
I am running this on pc using RPCS3 to emulate PS3 hardware. There's an active pvp community with servers available as well as other mods on Nexus Mods page.
Ariane is working on making the sixth archstone playable, I can't wait to see it go live even if it takes years!

It would have been really cool to do that! The original files in the game are pretty unfinished so They'd have to do a lot of work to finish what little is there and then have to make the rest of the levels from scratch. They didn't seem to be very far into developing these levels.

you need to manually save whatever edits you make in DSMapstudio. There should be several save options, but I normally use "save all".

how did you edit the starter class in the studiomap
In the Param Editor you can highlight CharaInitParam, move to the middle window and search for the characters for the Creation menu. Should be somewhere between the IDs 3000 and 3009. you can change their stats, armor, weapons, etc. If you want the names to change, you must go to the Text Editor and search for the corresponding text ID.
Did you do anything for the broken archstone?
There is another group already working on restoring it and they've made really good progress.

Try going into your RPCS3 root folder > cache > BLUS30443 > delete the ppu_XXXXXXXXXXXX files and then boot the game again. should write new ppu modules with the mod.

you have to unpack the game with UXM unpacker (Nexus Mods) Then you need DSmapStudio or a param editor to change the classes. Here is a link to the modding tutorials I used - soulsmodding.wikidot.com/
All we need from DeS mods is the broken archstone restored with all the cut enemies
