@ Pokémon in general has just been bad since after XY honestly.

@@PokeMike769 more of an expansion, it had some reprints but what it most importantly had was quality full arts with Pokémon you would actually want. Why is there so much BS now in Pokémon packs? A spec, IR, AR, SIR, SAR, Trainer Gallery. Just a cash grab tactic.

@ak42069 I think the specs are for the game. I thought the rest are a new way of determining rarity. And then just giving new arts for the rarities. Like collector stuff. They make money, collectors have something to scramble for.

I feel that. I read them like I’m gonna play the game😂 The gambling in the hobby does help sell the cards quicker. I hope it stays for a while 👀

It’s a gamble getting a hit if you’re in it only for the money. I think sealed has historically made more money than a single if you’re into just making money off the hobby. I’m hoping ad revenue can subsidize this hobby. Hahaha

@@PokeMike769 I suppose if nobody was opening packs, viewer ship would drop for MOST channels, thus adrev would be non-existent. It's a catch22.

Altaria is such a cool pokemon. I got the SIR graded recently. It is a beautiful card too. Great choice!

I really only find value in the bulk grading. So I would send at least the minimum required for the bulk level. For PSA you need to become a member and then you can send in the bulk price level. If you get a high grade, they just up charge you. For CGC you also need to become a member for the bulk pricing level but the cost to become a member can be used as credit towards your submission. You won’t be up charged for getting a high grade. Why does PSA up charge and CGC does not? PSA charges you based on the value of the card once it’s graded. CGC charges you based on the value of the card ungraded. I hope this helps a bit.

@PokeMike769 thanks for the detailed response, very informative! I think while I'm building up my collection I'll hold off. I am like you id mainly be grading for my own personal collection (Japanese 151 is my main interest) so maybe CGC will be a good option in the future.

Thanks! I love CGC too and PSA has a pretty good premium depending on the card. But man do I love looking at my cards through a crisp and clear CGC slab. Worst case scenario, I just crack my slab and go with whoever is king in 30 years to sell the collection. Thanks again for watching!

A giant YT sits in wait for us TH-camrs in the middle of the woods. We make the 5000 mile trek annually to ask it “What shall we do YT?” YT takes a minute to gather its thoughts and responded with “Open Pokemon packs,” and left us TH-camrs there to sit with its wise words. We made the 6000 mile trek back and did what was asked of us: open pokemon packs.
