Would have been interesting to hear this unique instrument. All I can hear is someone talking.
Show. Don’t tell.
Lets hear it unprocessed, amplified but without the added harmony.
Google it, I guess? You can easily find recordings of solo performances. She's been doing this since the 80s and has collaborated with various people. This most recent collaboration happens to be with an electronic musician.
You know what, this is what I hate about the art world today and most other mediums. I was interested in her paintings and methodology as someone who had only just heard her name. And before anything else it’s just RACE RACE RACE. It’s also very discouraging to other races and genders when you put so much value in the fact she is a WoC.
I always find out about all the cool stuff in the city after it happens. 😢😂
Thanks for the close-up of the work by Elias Sime. From a distance, the colors are very pleasing, but the intimate, close-up of the components, being able to see the details and texture, made it hugely more engaging.

Bigs form work is great...its concrete obsession is a big concern to the environment... a big gift would be less concrete!... Anicka Yi is the future of design.

I have known Marsha for some 60 years - even been to her studios - and it's amazing to see her working through the decades. I don't understand the art world (or artists, really) and why the light of commercial success seems to shine on some and not on others. But it's restorative to see someone doing art and how it's integral to their life. Ima get in touch soon, I think.
Stunning!
