Fort Ransom State Park: Explore Nature, History, and Scenic Beauty in the Sheyenne River Valley
มุมมอง 45หลายเดือนก่อน
Visiting Fort Ransom State Park in North Dakota felt like more than just a trip-it was a journey into my dad’s roots. Walking through the same landscapes where he grew up, I could feel the connection to the land and the stories he’s shared over the years. The rolling hills and peaceful river seemed to hold pieces of his childhood, and being there gave me a deeper appreciation for the place that...
First sugar beets of the season, every pile tells a story of hard work
มุมมอง 769หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video Brian is driving truck for pre-pile of the Sugar Beets. Driving a truck for the pre-pile of sugar beets involves hauling harvested beets from the fields to designated piling or storage areas, where they are temporarily held before processing. The driver must coordinate closely with harvest crews, navigating fields and dirt roads that can be challenging due to weather or terrain. P...

Decal removal made simple! Removing old decals from your RV.
มุมมอง 4802 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you're tired of unsightly chipped decals, check out this video for tips on how to remove them easily and effectively. Let us show you how we removed chipped and fading decals from our 2008 Keystone Cougar. During some downtime Brian and I worked on removing decals from the Cougar. The decals over time have worn off or chipped off and were in need of removal. We found a product online that wa...

A short view of the beginning of a Monsoon rain. Standing outside the bar to see if it was dry enough to get to the truck. Nope. Went back inside for just one more beer!

That is a lot of beets
What a beautiful spot! You guys look great! ❤
Just a few miles from the Canada border.
Happy 🥔 harvest! See you on the other side! 😁
You know it!
Great seeing you!!! ❤
That was beautiful! 😍 I love videos like this, you are building a great variety in your video library to choose from. 😁
Thank you! This video was much shorter but very emotional too. Looking out over that valley knowing my dad I'm sure hiked, hunted and fished those areas growing up meant a lot to me to be able to go there.
@@EnjoyPositiveLiving Amazing to have it all on video!
That was really cool to see up close!
So will that entire concrete pad you drove in on be fill with beats by the end of harvest? Flat country!
Yes by the end of full harvest in October all the concrete will be full of beets. I will post pics on our Facebook page at the end of harvest. These pads will be empty by Oct 1st. Ready for Harvest to start Oct 1.
Loved this! Such beautiful and meaningful footage. So much of the US I still need to see!
Thank you. It meant a lot to me to go see it. Going to Lisbon too.
@@EnjoyPositiveLiving Can’t wait to see that!
@@canadilynne2642 lisbon was in this video. The next video will be Fort Ransom State Park.
@@EnjoyPositiveLiving Very cool! P.S. You killed me with that doughnut footage! 😂
@@canadilynne2642 best donuts in a long time for sure!
Love this and I would love to hear more about what you guys do and how you do it!
I have just finished some content that shows what Brian is doing for sugar beets. That video should be ready soon. Keep an eye out for that one.
Nice video the prices in that store wasn’t bad, for $20. Need some videos of the complete beet and potato harvest so people have an idea of the process.
They were considerably higher this year on some things. Like everywhere else, I guess. I have some footage I took this week of Brian doing sugar beets pre-pile and will be getting that together soon. As for potatoes, I have some footage from last year. I won't be taking any this year. No cell phones are allowed this season.
Not to be confused with the potato harvest
That's next. This is pre-pile.
Good to know! I think we have some decals on the RV that might need removing.
This made it super easy to remove the sticky glue!
So the only way to get rid of the faded areas are a repaint after decal removal? I want to do this but painting my 32’ can’t be cheap.
Very pretty but could be dangerous
Very much so. The washington coast line is very rugged in general. Add a good storm to that and it could lead to some trouble.
Love sprouts year round!
After our chat today I think I'm going to Start a tray and video it. 😀 stay tuned my friend.
Looks like an amazing store
I must have run out of time that day because the upstairs in that store is just as amazing! I might try to get back there once when we go up to Washington in the spring.
some Harvest money for a newish truck ?
Nope. Harvest money for building the homestead. The truck is doing great! Only the driveline was a truck issue. The rest was crappy parts issues and regular maintenance updates. All together, it is still way less money than a new truck payment. The newer trucks have their own issues and still need to dump money in them to make them a truck. Lol!
My goodness, you sure have had your share of problems with that truck. Hope the rest of the trip goes well.
In the bigger picture with the age of this truck we have had minimal problems. They have just happened at some inconvenient times. The issues up north in TRF, MN was from the cold. Even brand new trucks had more issues than we had with the "beast". The alternators going out is because they don't make new ones and the reman crap they bring up from Mexico is garbage. If you go on truck forums some of the guys are replacing them 4 times in a 6 month period. So again not the trucks fault. Getting tires.. well that's just maintenance. Brian said we put on about 40K miles since buying it in 2022. The new trucks break down too and the cost of repairs that are not covered in the "bumper to bumper" warranty are pretty costly on top of the new truck payment. So In all we will always be grateful for having "the beast". We have also had so many silver linings in our break downs. Having long time family friends, RV park Managers, and Mech shops who have been so kind and going above and beyond to help us and make sure we are safe and on the road. God will always provide. Sometimes just not in our timeline. There is always a reason for that too. Thanks for the well wishes! We will be back up and running soon!
How is it going?! Yo!unusua ltrip-:)
Going better every day. Thanks!
Nice little rain. FYI, I clicked the UP thumb and it registered but the "number" of watchers stayed at Zero. Maybe after I leave it will change. Brian, have you thought of using, aircraft wire on the cutter instead of that cord? Have fun.
Thanks for that! He never thought of that but will look into it. The cord he's using came with the mower. Thanks for the great suggestion!!
@@EnjoyPositiveLiving l did that with a lawn header. Use like 1/8th inch cable
Let us know if you hear a Banjo!
It want like that at all. It was so beautiful!
awareness is everything with the snakes! Cool property!
Thank you! We love it! I can't wait to get back in the spring and start working on it full time.
@@EnjoyPositiveLivingsuper cool! I look forward to following along. We're popping smoke for the winter also.
super pretty! Love the property!
Thank you! I miss it already. Up in ND for sugar beet and potato harvests.
@@EnjoyPositiveLiving too cool! I tried to grow some potatoes this year under the junipers and it worked great, but rats dug them up and had a feast.

Hello my frend..
Hello!
Now you know how the pioneers felt taking a wagon, cross country till the trail was made. Watch here you step.
Yes. We were just talking about that yesterday. Some areas are wide open and you can see distance. Then others... what lurks in the tree lines?
😮 I won't be taking my camper to fast down that road
We were in 1st gear. Crazy cattle trail roads.
So exciting!👍👍
It was a lot of fun going out there for the first time. I still feel the same way every time we get a chance to go work on it!
Laundry is a bummer when you’re on the road. But alas a necessary job 👍 just subscribed BTW
Thank you for your subscribe!! I look forward to your future comments!
I love sprouting! Great review. The stainless steel is super nice
I love it!
I am soooo proud of you. It's REALLY hard start again. And you are doing it. I love you!!!
Get the cordless drill for the coconut.
is that apple cider vinger that your using?
Yes apple cider vinegar
so is this a meal type pie like say chicken pot pie OR is is a dessert ?
dessert
; the pie and side look delicious.. i have only one qualm: that is not ice cream. ice cream is made with dairy. delicious milk fat. this is not to say that isn't delicious. I'm sure it is. it sounds great. sorbet is great. sherbet is great. they aren't ice cream. if you went to a restaurant and ordered that pie with vanilla ice cream and you got a chilled coconut puree, would you be happy? perhaps, but i would not. all i am saying is, these foods are delicious and by misrepresenting them you dishonour the foods themselves and discourage people from enjoying them. likewise, vegetable biomass and turkey masquerading as beef or pork is wrong. these foods are good on their own, and only lose out when they try to be things they are not.
I say tomarto you say tomayto!
@UltimateAnonymity I have a similar recipe that I made for the first time today. I actually like it better than apple pie. Don't let the "green tomatoes" freak you out... it's really good.
Happy Easter! You look great. Miss you!! <3 Brenda
