I’m there rn and people genuinely think you’re choosing the guy. i’d love to get away but even shelters here are always full, state run housing are dumps and people can say you’re picky but it’s very hard to even maintain in there when you’re dealing with someone thieving your stuff, pink eye or bed bugs any day of the week and it’s always been this way. Without family or support by your side, none of us can just magically get away. Once your isolated from friends, that’s it. Mine became friends with mine and close with my family.. so that’s that. I can try cut him off but there is no one to call to help me pick up the pieces especially if you are now raising his kid. I don’t understand how people think we genuinely pick these guys and choose to stay with them when the reality is that our options and solutions to get away aren’t so great.
