Max’s practice test route to Elvaston Castle reading signs
มุมมอง 5697 หลายเดือนก่อน
Student wanted to check his readiness for test and also needed to practice independent driving. So today I chose to introduce reading signs. How do u think he did? Can u spot the mistakes that we discussed at the end off camera.
Dual Carriageway Lesson
มุมมอง 2767 หลายเดือนก่อน
Student already had a brief lesson on dual carriageways merging from a roundabout and we had also covered the larger roundabouts and double roundabouts in his previous lesson this is why my instruction was quite brief. How do you think he did?
Practice Test Route for Student

Did she’s passed ?
@@antonychurchill8949 These clips just show how the students handle a test route. It’s giving them a chance to see what to expect on their test too. It’s not an actual test. 👍🏻
2:52 saw the national speed limit sign. So this is a 70mph right?
@@tionnechambers8155 on a country road, single carriage, national speed limit would be 60. This doesn’t mean u drive that speed though. This just means u can’t exceed that speed. On this particular road it would be very unsafe to drive even close to 60.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl thank you
This is the one confusing me because it has 2 lanes (on both sides) and a reservation in the middle. I thought it was a dual carriageway @@steppingstonesdrivingscl
@@tionnechambers8155 I wish I knew what road u we’re on about If u aren’t sure then just don’t go above 60 when u see the national speed limit sign
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl it was the road at 2:52
25:23 if that car had decided to turn right (our left) where would we position the car if we were turning right?
That's a great question as the road markings are horrific. There are slight road markings that u cant see on the video very well so u would position yourself over to our right and the car opposite would position over to our left.
Are we allowed to ask the examiner the directions to leave the car park?
Absolutely. They should guide you but in any scenario on your test u can ask the examiner to clarify directions. they are there to help when u are unsure.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl thank you
@@tionnechambers8155 u r welcome. Anytime!
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl sorry to keep bothering you but I have one last question. My test is tomorrow in Derby and when I exit the test centre going towards the roundabout so I continue driving at 10mph as stated in the test centre? As there’s no speed limit signs beyond that point?
@@tionnechambers8155 you are not bothering me in the slightest. The speed is only 10mph inside the gates of the test centre. Once u r outside the gates it goes back to 30. But I would keep it around 23 because that’s the first time they have been in a car with u and u need to make them feel safe and build up their trust. But please just relax. It’s actually so easy to pass your test if u take your time and relax. Don’t stress!
5:31 where was the national speed limit sign? In the bushes?
The national speed limit sign is at around 4:13
Did this guy pass was this a test
@@jonostone88 no I’m just showing the students the test routes on my videos.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl ok brilliant Ty for showing I have my test on Friday
Do you have any availability for a mock test in Derby in my own car? What’s your contact number?
At the roundabout, where there was a dead end - before entering Draycott, B’wash & Spondon. Did you say no signal even through the individual was turning right? It was at 8:28
@@tionnechambers8155 yes no signal is needed because student isn’t turning right. On this roundabout the 3rd exit is straight. So you only need to signal when u come off the roundabout otherwise it will be misleading to other drivers.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl thank you so much!
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl Thank you so much, all of your videos regarding derby test routes have been so helpful!!
Will forever be grateful that you uploaded this video. You put it up 6 days before my test back in Jan so I made my instructor take me on it as I thought it was a horrible horrible route (that blue peter r-about can be awful coming out of that road).....so obviously I got this one on the day and I passed!
@@stevieblackburn1589 oh that’s just wonderful news and that’s why I make these videos. It’s crucial students have a heads up coz some parts of the test routes can be tricky if u go there the first time. I’m really glad u found it helpful and it’s just the best when u get the test route that u practiced. U do feel more comfortable knowing a little bit about where u r going, I think. Congratulations and always stay safe. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
when doing a forward bay park in the pub car park I was told to drive straight into a bay that was directly in front of me, saves a fair bit of hassle I suppose. not sure if this helps. great video and really helpful series! thanks
@@BETA-1066 u r more than welcome. Glad u enjoyed. There is no harm in going straight into a bay choosing the easiest option however sometimes the examiners r very specific with their instruction and choose bays for u. Therefore, u need to practice for all scenarios. Hope that is clear.
Hi, I’ve been driving for many years but only in my local town, I want to be able to drive further to places like Leicester and Nottingham, I contacted you a few months ago for some driving lessons in Leicester and I’m on a waiting list but I haven’t heard anything for a few months, any idea when I’ll hear anything? I appreciate you’re very busy.
@@WayneTulip-zm9gw Hi, I’m not currently teaching in Leicester. Sorry.
No worries, no need to say sorry, I was just wondering if you know how long I’d have to wait for a reply?
Thank you for information about the driving license
At 31:14 he crossed the solid lane (just before broken parts) while changing lane I failed for same reason just thought to warn others
You are absolutely correct. An examiner wont accept crossing over those solid lines no matter how close to the end you are. Its brilliant u noticed that. This is why I do the videos, for people to learn routes and pick out errors. Well done.
Hi how can I book lessons with you ?
I'm fully booked until November.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl thanks for your quick reply. Can I get your details then I don’t mind wait for November Thanks
Hi, I'm not currently taking on any new students I am completely booked up. I dont hold waiting lists as it isnt fair asking someone to wait a period of time that I cant confirm.
Hi, I have spaces if you are still interested in booking lessons.
Thanks!
Is that a serious fault at 10:15? Causing oncoming traffic to change direction or speed?
If u mean driving in and around all the parked cars. Then the student moved out before that car came. So it wouldn't be a serious fault. In a different scenario if u r coming out of a junction for example and a car had to slow for u then yes that would be a serious fault. I hope that's helpful.
Very informative video, please upload more videos about test route .
Hi, there are nearly 20 test routes to choose from in derby. There are also a load for Burton. Thank u so much I'm glad u liked it.
First view first like and first comment 😊
Hi are you giving driving lessons
Yes. jdrury.aadrivingschool@gmail.com
I want to take driving’s lessons could you give me lessons please
Nice videos, but please take in landscape mode so that we have a better view. Thank you in advance. Love the content, very helpful 👌
I can definately do that.
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl thank you 🙏, I’m using your videos for routes. My instructor took me to some of the routes from your videos and I nailed them. My test is coming soon and hope to get one of your routes.
@@Dr.wellingtonmazambani that's really good news. It makes a difference if u have an idea if the areas. Makes u feel more comfortable. Keep at it. Brilliant news.

Ahhhhh that’s just the nicest news. Congratulations I’m so happy for u. Thank u for sharing
@@steppingstonesdrivingscl no no ty any 1 taking lessons watch these videos and you'll be fine good luck all 🙌
You pull the lever not push it
Nice but I really didn’t need to know
I learned a lot today
Hi can you show me how you would have sex whilst driving a Ford puma ?😂😂
😂😂
But how do you wash your front back-window? How???
I've uploaded a video.
Good grief
Don’t need the fan for the back and you’d just use the max button for the front no need to fiddle with the fan setting 🤷♂️
Sometimes if it rains the examiner will ask u to sort the windscreen out when it fogs up, so it's a must the students know how it works. They specify front windscreen. If u press max all of them go on and that isnt the question. Some cars dont have max
Can't even get forwards and backwards the right way round, can tell you're a woman driver!
Had this test route last week !
Did u pass?
Stapnill???
Is this stapnill area?
Good
Hi, are you still available in derby?
Yes. If u look in the AA website my name will come up
Your name please?
@@kamalguragain8312 Jacqueline Drury
Do you teach manual only?
@@kamalguragain8312 yes
( 17:20 ) You said 2nd exit but isn't that 3rd exit?
Yes, u r right. It is the third exit. I need to change that video. Thanks for pointing that out. Coz u have 2 exits to the left and then the exit towards Nottingham is the third.
(15:49) i think he was on the wrong lane. He should take right lane for the road ahead. Please reply !
U r absolutely right. The basic rule of a rndbt is left lane to go left or straight, right lane to go right unless the arrows tell u different. Here the arrow tells u - right lane to go straight. Th4 difficulty here on this particular rndbt was the cones that were taking up the lane, so he went a little bit too far to the left.
Ok. Thank you
Can i exit from the right lane of that first roundabout and then i don't need to go right lane?
We always enter the new road in the left hand lane, u less we know we r going right And u wont b given the instructions to go right at the 2nd roundabout until u r on that road. That's where they want to see if u r going to check your mirrors, signal, and blindspot check before u move over to that right lane.
So in a normal situation absolutely but on a test no because u have to wait for the instructions.
Ok thank you for the reply
I have 8:10 am test this week so could you please guess which route they use for the 8:10 test?(test centre Derby alvaston)
@@contentking7571 They could take u on the Pride Park route, An Oakwood route or ilkeston, chellaston. All these routes are quiet but is a great time to have a test.
What's this supposed to show?
These roundabout videos are basically a reminder for my students. When u come out of the Derby test centre to turn left, there r three lanes which this video doesnt show. So it's just a reminder that all u have to do is normal procedures of turning left but going straight over to that right lane when going up and over the dual carriageway onto the bridge its not complicated. Coz when u see it, a lot of the students have no clue how to handle it. So its just something for then to reflect on for those that have already done it.
There is one point which I thought was potentially dangerous. The light controlled crossing in Alvaston just past the Blue Peter. The driver did not appear to slow up much approaching the lights which were initially at red. Although he/she did cross when the light had changed to green, it was obvious that the driver would have gone through at amber. The danger is here that there could have been someone on the crossing in front of the vehicles waiting at the crossing. You can't guarantee that someone isn't going to suddenly dive across even though the pedestrian lights are red.
Having my driving test end of July at Cannock test center.nervous and excited..Is this a one of test route.?
