@@mathematicals91 Flashing is material that is placed behind something that is installed against the side or top of an exterior surface of a structure. For example, when attaching a porch or deck to the side of a house, flashing would be some type of impermeable membrane (zinc, EPDM rubber-type material) between the wood of the deck/porch and the wood/other construction material of the house so that water will not get the chance to soak into the wood of the deck and get trapped thus preventing the material on the side of the house from decaying also. It is a prevention mechanism required by all building codes in the USA when building or adding roofing (such as flashing would be placed where the chimney and the roofing material meet and overlap by at least by, say, 10-20 cm) or decking, as 2 examples. Hope this helps. How SP states there's no flashing but this could be addressed in another of the videos in the series.
