DIY HUGE Mobile Lumber Rack
มุมมอง 4812 ปีที่แล้ว
I finally started taking control of my lumber hoard by building a huge mobile lumber rack. I can now see what I have, and it brings some organization to the lumber that has been stored in various corners of the shop. The entire project is made from dimension lumber and plywood that can be found at your hardware store. This is a quick afternoon project that can help you reorganize your shop and ...

DIY Rustic Frames for Art or Patent Prints
มุมมอง 2.9K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is how I make my patent art frames from upcycled fence pickets for sale at art markets, vintage markets and craft markets. This is great for keeping old fence materials out of the landfill. The idea behind this is to make something that is quick and simple, low cost, fits in with our other offerings, and easy to sell. The more rustic it looks, the better. These can be painted to match almo...

DIY Barber Pole
มุมมอง 553K6 ปีที่แล้ว
My DIY project to make a barber pole from PVC and Rustoleum spray paint.
Hi- love this video. I'm having trouble with 2.5" construction screws. I keep stripping the heads with my drill. Do you drill pilot holes and/or do you think the torx head/ bit will eliminate this issue?
Nice job! I'd never be able to get the stripes even. Congrats!
👏👏👏👏👏. birufull
Thank you for taking the time to record....love the price comparison.

Cool ideas. I have a ton of fence boards. I need to make frames for my art. Thanks for sharing.

Is he name?
Yea, building the wood shelf is a lot cheaper.
Where'd you get the base, globe and trim?
The base I made from scrap lumber, the globe came from Home Depot and the trim is simply plywood that I cut to size, routed a profile and painted gold.
@@thevendorlifewhat type of globe is that?
It is a 4" globe found in the lighting department at Home Depot.
The temp brace for lifting is genius especially for those of us who work alone. One fail in your video. In the beginning you state the 2x4s are cut down to 6ft for the shelves, yet at the end when you discover the metal shelving unit you state your shelves are longer than the 6ft metal unit. That's actually the same unless you misspoke early on and used the entire 2x4 for the length of your shelves.
Mine is just a bit taller than the metal one. Every inch matters, right?
I built something similar, but without the middle supports but used 5/8" particle board. Have had totes on it for several years and hasn't sagged
I tend to over-engineer everything expecting a heavier load than I probably need.
Strong work! I'm guessing your floor is level?
I've been watching many similar videos, and some videos have many millions views. I find out that this video is the best.
Thanks for the awesome compliment!
Nice build! Going to make this. Did you use MDF or OSB for the shelves?
I used MDF. I find it more easier to work with and it looks better.
@@thevendorlife thank you!
What type of screws worked best?
I like the general construction screws with the star pattern driver.
Awesome!
How wide was the shelf and how long was the 2x4s for the shelfs. Is all the 2x4s. 6 feet long
I cut the plywood in half so the cross pieces are a bit over 2 feet long. The uprights are all 6 feet.
@@thevendorlife so how far apart are the cross pieces.
@@johnbrandonlocklear7881 The horizontal boards are all 8 feet so their spacing would be at 2 feet.
@@thevendorlife thanks
What sticky tape did you use mate
That is generic blue painter's tape.
I'll be forever using that stacking method now!
I want barber pole how can I cantact with you
Hi Brady, Very good job AND some very funny little jokes!
Hey, thanks!
th-cam.com/video/VaBhs8P6CkUk/w-d-xo.html
Wow wow wow!!
Nice! What kind of screws do you use (size, leng,h head, material)? Would appreciate that info. Thanks.
The screws I use are whatever I have around the shop for projects like this but these are 2 1/2" construction screws that I got at Home Depot. They have a torx head but also come with the drill bit to make it easy.
@@thevendorlife Thanks!
Can I order one?
Dónde estás ubicado. Para recuperar el plástico de mí Caramelo muchas gracias
Texas.
Oh man. I am so glad I found you. I have been wanting to do this with the thousands of pieces of old fence boards just lying around over here.
Glad I could help!
its easy to dislike HE DOESNT TELL YOU THE MOST IMPORTANT PART HOW TO MEASURE THE ANGLE FOR TAPING! IVE TRIED THIS NOW 5X AND FAILED POINTLESS VIDEO BUT COOL
That wasn't quite the point of the video and you didn't see how many times I had to tape and re-tape the pipe prior to painting. However, I think your idea of doing more of a how-to is awesome. Stay tuned and I will go into detail about how to lay out the tape to paint the barber stripes.
Wher can i see how to measure for spacing @thevendorlife
Nice build. Nothing better then a bunch of extra storage space. Especially when you can build it on a budget. Thx!
I've got a couple of new ones coming that are all about storage!
Would you sell one? Just the PVC? I would find the base and globe myself. I'm interested in buying a painted PVC! I have no patience to paint myself.lol.
Of course. I have an extra pole already painted. Look in the About section for my contact info.
Y como hago para que gire?
So on this pole when you were taping you changed your mind and went with standard color masking tape. I like your double lamp so much I want to make one. I don't have the wood router for the flanges and I'd like to know how you tape up pole for red and blue tape. Even though I watched your video several times and slowed it down I can't figure that taping job you do. I layed down in a 45 ° the first stripe of painters. Is it wrong if I don't end up with an equal amount of stripes? I think on one side it'll be wh/bl/wh. I'm sure your visitors say " Oh, what a nice lamp. Where'd you buy it at "? Hope to hear from you thanks. Jimmy
The trick to this is that there are only two stripes. Once the base is painted white, tape off two stripes for blue and red at equal distances. I mark the top to identify where my tape strips start. Also, if you look really close, you will see that my stripes are not quite the same size. Taping off the stripes is the most difficult part. Lastly, I changed tape because my first few attempts didn't work and I ran out of tape so I picked up what was available in the shop.
Where did you find the brass circle parts? Thank you!!
Those are made from wood. A little copper color spray paint makes a huge difference. Brass color would work too.
Beautifull 😍
Thank you! 😊
Ohh,its really good i like to do this also For my Barber shop...thank you so much for sharing this idea...

I Want A Barber phole
Any source for that globe on top?
That is a standard globe with a 3 inch base. I recently discovered that the 4 inch ones fit even better and are bigger globes. You can find these at Home Depot or Lowes pretty easily assuming you are in the US.
What's the length of the PVC?
30 -36 inches from Home Depot. I use the precut pvc.
