iLevil AP Follow up Review
This is a followup review of the iLevil AP from Ilevil Aviation.
Also, if you're interested in learning more about the Savannah S, here's a link for the first flight and walk around of my recently certified light sport airplane. th-cam.com/video/nhf0nNJeZyw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=35RWudavOoiF6bKI

This is N305P located at Camarillo airport in California. It’s a homebuilt from an Italian company called ICP and took roughly fourteen months of building to get to this point.
Hi Tim did you re balance your control surfaces after the install? I heard for slower aircraft not necessary . Thank you
Hi Tim, thank your for the video! Love it. Is it possible to learn more about your avionics build. What are the components you installed? Will it be possible to mail it to me please?
Hi Werner. As you might be able to tell from the video, I went low cost for my panel. The primary screen is just an ipad. The gps is from iFly gps, a portable unit. The comm is Garmin GTR 200 and includes built in innercom. The transponder is Stratus, and ELT is Artex. And then there's the ILevil for traffic, weather, AP, EFIS, etc. Even going the "low cost" route, it easily all adds up to over 10 grand.....
Hello from CYQT ... A big THANK YOU for posting this video. I own an Avid Magnum (it has full length flapperons like a Kitfox) and I have been looking for information about individuals who have installed the Levil Trim Tab Auto Pilot. Yours looks really nice. Glad it seems to be working well. Do you have a link for the video that shows you installing the Level AP hardware?
Hi Brian. You might check out the first part of the review. Other than that, I didn't document any more of the install. I will say this though: If you run into any problems, the company is great at helping you work through them.
Hello Tim, Nice to see another Savannah Kit builder with the Ilevil Ap. I am Thomas from Germany and currently I am building the fifth savannah from Kit 1. The fourth one was for myself and last year I also installed the AP from Ilevil. Interesting I also ran into the issue that only one trim tap isn't enough on the Savannah s Flaperons.... The force it can provide at the down movement is perfect but at the upper side of the Flapperon the air is shielded by the wing I think. So now with two trim tabs the Ap has quite enough power to control the Savannah but I ended last years flight season with no satisfying settings at the App. The plane keeps rolling to the left and right only a bit even with roll proportional of 1 but in smooth air at hight altitudes this is very noticeable. By the way I installed no additional trim tab on the elevator. I have build a skid for the original ray Allen anti balance tab servo and move the ray Allen Trim Servo with an additional heavy duty RC servo. With this setup the LEvil Ap has additional control over the stock anti balance tab and someone is not able to let two trim systems work against each other.... Best regards! Thomas
Hi Thomas. Looks like you love the little Savannah as much as I do. I also had some slight rocking at cruise, but after recalibrating, as described in the installation manual, the rocking went away.
