Blinded by the Light. I opened my Eyes for the first time and saw a Powder Blue Carnation with Bright Red Ladybirds surrounding it as if to say aren't I Beautiful just being in this World for you What is the use of more than something incredible to look at and admire for the simple fact of existence it's self to wander all through your life so true The passage of time takes us to places we only ever dreamed of and within the journey is a secret of life's passion showing us diversity in everything we see or do A chance to change our narrow minds into a clear vision of which there is no obstruction to truly feel the Earth beating it's heart inside pursuing the Colour of what Hue.
Highly recommended is 'Captain for Dark Mornings' (1969) by the Bronx child prodigy and genius singer/songwriter Laura Nyro. Nyro is the most influential female musician of the last 50 years, influencing generations of artists such as Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Elton John, Steely Dan, Prince, etc. See youtube Nyro raves by Elton John, Todd Rundgren, Alice Cooper, Sara Barellies. Nyro was inducted into the Rock Hall of fame in 2012. She passed in 1997 from ovarian cancer aged 49. Her recordings span 1966 to 2001.
Yes! So true. Also the tick tick tick part. Translates well to metal or even punk. I could see the Dropkick Murphy's or Mastodon or maybe Yeah Yeah Yeahs covering it.
Well, you gotta consider, if you've been listening to music all morning there's a big chance of your dog doing that. Still, got your message. Awesome song.
I think it's nicer that she's not as famous (sound like a hipster here) because there is a nice group of us that know and lover her/her music, and I think that's more special than it become incredibly popular.
@flopsy1997xfactor same, i love people like Laura marling and mumford ans sons and no one gets it :3 just my friends like hatsune miku and other vocaloids(i have no idea how to spell it)
@Tylaaahh Can't blame her... he has minge-style-hair on his head ¬.' Besides, if she didn't like him then that's her opinion and her choice. ... More to the matter, who the hell is Charlie Fink?
@luckatejac i agree, but i wouldn't say "one of the most talented female artists of our time" id say she is probably one of the most talented artists of all time.
Can I PLZ have some explanation from anybody about the meaning of the lyrics? This song is great, the lyrics are great, but I still cant fully understand the meaning. It is surely about dissapointment in christianity, time ticking away, a captain going away from some place for 'some kind of fight' (because of time ticking away?) I thought 'I fell into the water, and now I;m free' Was maybe reffering to: Alas I can not swim (the river that is dangerous but that will bring her to her true self)
Still adore this song!
❤❤❤❤❤
Am I the only one who thinks of the title reminding you of 'a man of authority' and 'a woman with an hourglass figure'?
I Iadore Laura Marling - love from NZ

If I could see this song, it would look more than just pretty.
I'm not sure why but I really love this particular song (and that's coming from a death metal fan)
Because it's good and genres are artificial barriers to enjoying good music.

That's part of the song. It's a ship.
This has to be one of my favourites of hers, along with Alas I Cannot Swim. She has such a beautiful voice.

A million times better than Nicki Minaj.
this song is so underrated it kills me. So is Laura Marling in general, but she could be really famous and she'd still be underrated.

Awesome song! Lyrically I equally pleased..... :o
@luckatejac i agree, but i wouldn't say "one of the most talented female artists of our time" id say she is probably one of the most talented artists of all time.
