I don't actually get into the reason why I'm carrying the extra windscreen, but it's something you can use in really bad winds to help conserve fuel and cut down boiling times. Just don't have it too close to the stove.

    I liked your video. I was looking for reviews thinking about getting one of the cold steel katana machetes. Debating on which one,the 18 or 24 inch. I live in the country and it looks like it would be a lot of fun . I'm astonished at some comments here made by people who obviously don't understand what having fun is out in the woods,thats crying about how nobody should buy one of those especially for bushcraft, like omg 😅. While they sit in their little apartment in the city or mommy and Daddys basement 😅. They obviously missed the whole point of having fun with something like a katana machete and that yes if need be, could be used for some fun bushcraft 😅😂

    I ordered one today. I was planning on dying the fly too like you show here. Your video has given me more confidence. I have some dye experience. What color rit dye did you use? Dye type and water amount? Thank you for the video. I'm planning on using both Rit chocolate brown for synthetic and dark brown for natural together. I was considering throwing in a splash of graphite for synthetic to darken it up a bit. Going to paint the acu around the base of the tent with rust-oleum camouflage flat earth brown too. I would appreciate your thoughts! Thank you for the video northern neighbor 👍🏻

    Glad I found this video. I've been wanting to buy this stock, but all the previous videos I found made it seem like too much of a pita to deal with. It seemed odd to me that a company would make a product for a specific firearm, but not make it so it fit.🤷😅 Always a right and wrong way to do everything. Thanks for showing the way!👍🏻🍻 Update: bought the stock and followed your steps. Fit like a glove! Didn't even have to tilt it upright and tap it on the floor. Everything went together perfectly and it looks great with the Savage 20rd mags!

    I really like the modifications you did on that knife. The first thing I would have to do is make that tooth a bit deeper like you did. I have the Jeo Tec no. 37 and I absolutely love that knife now I'm thinking of either getting this one or the No. 39. I think Jeo Tec is a great brand and they would be a lot more successful if they gave us the option to choose what scales and sheaths to get with our knife. They are starting to do that with certain models and I would love to get micarta yute on my 37. I think you'd like that version of micarta because it's grippier. Anyway I'm very happy with my Jeo Tec knife, It came very scary sharp, and even though I just bought it a month ago, I have been using it every single day and I haven't even sharpened it yet, a couple passes on a honing rod, yes, but haven't sharpened. Jeo Tec would be my favorite knife company if they would make knives in the 7-9 inch range and even though my 37 is 6.5 inches, it is my favorite knife, MV58 is highly stainless and I clean it after every use and looks shiny like the day I bought it. I live in Manitoba and given the winters here, 1095 gets very brittle in -40+ weather, that said, D2 and MV58 steels prevail up in here.

    When you buy a specialized knife like a tracker it helps if you do some research and training on how to properly use the blade not wing it and form an opinion on user error. This is like buying a gun and not learning the operation of the gun. All in all a tracker style is not a beginner knife it take training. Love your videos thank you. The one you have is a band wagon knife I would try the original 1981 design that Tom brown stole.

      @@BoDiddlydodah no tom brown stole the design from a man who took it to him and he was going to sell it at his school till he got the price. Tom had no role in the design of the knife he only tested it. Tom after telling the man it was to expensive took the very knife that man designed and got others to try and make it for him without giving credit where credit is due. Look at utahknifeworks

    The only logical reason for buying it is to add a cheap but durable sword to one’s weapons collection. It is wildly impractical for anything else and simply comical for bushcraft.

      Obviously you've missed the whole point of the video. I highly doubt anyone who does camp or do survival stuff, bushcraft would actually buy one just for that purpose. You obviously don't understand fun and that even people who do bushcraft, survival stuff like to have fun. You should get out of your little apartment in the city and try it sometime instead of just reading about it 😅😂

But you were fair with it. ❤ I'm going to sub to see what you got. If I were you I would try to keep videos like this under 10 minutes. Cut anything unnecessary out. Direct. • @guerrierodelgiaguaro
    @guerrierodelgiaguaro ปีที่แล้ว

    Hullo Sir. Even if you complain so much, both you and the knife perform pretty well. Speaking about the "heavy chopping", a bouncing log of that kind disperses easily a quarter of the kinetic energy (pressure per square centimeter, if you prefere) that you apply, and this bouncing has consequences also on the grip. Speaking about my personal experience, the best gripping fealing is related to boar leather strips around the tang, very expensive and not equally lasting; micarta is not so expensive and last a lot; also wooden grips, with notchs, are a good choice, better than micarta at least for me. Regarding the "fine chopping", every log or branch without the bark (or with a thin bark) in a wet or humid scenario gives that sensation of ricochet. On the other aspects, I am not able the express opinions because I am not an expert about Tracker knives. Many thanks for sharing this beautiful and best regards from Italy.

    Hello. Great review. It really looks like a good knife. I can give you an advice: when you try to stick a knife like at 16:37 , place your thumb on the tip of the handle so your hand won't slip on the blade and you won't hurt yourself (even tho you have gloves and thats nice). I will go stealth camping for 2 days with a friend, tomorrow. Wish me to find quiet place :)

    There's a comment that you can always make something cheaper that looks the same from a distance but of course the difference is in the detail. I've a genuine Hubba NX1 and it has stood up to some very adverse conditions camping on the Pennines next to Englands highest pub, the famous Tan Hill Inn. Strong winds and heavy rain didn't cause me any issues.

    Friend I bought mine and carbon steel, because I like carbon steel. You can sharpen it with a stone or piece of slate. Both of my grind lines were uneven. I kept a knife anyway but it bothered me after 18 months. I finally called them up and told them they told me to keep the knife in 48 hours. I had a brand new one on my doorstep and it was perfect because they probably gave me the best one of the bunch.

    The main issue with this machete is it doesn't have a machete-like forward weight balance. The sharpness is not a problem. The real one is the steep grind angle. The profile of the blade should be flatter. The two-hand grip is a bit too long and disrupts the wrist swing. It also further diminishes the forward balance of the machete. Also, I abused my CS Katana Machete a lot yet I couldn't bend it on the wood. It is a case of inconsistency in the hardening process, as it should work the way the spring does.
