I was born in the late ninety's so unfortunately I was never able to witness Malta how it was before. However through photos you realise how different it was back then. 😀

@@thetravelinfoguide absolutely it was different! Call it progress or mass construction, mass tourism? Still a lot of harm and destruction has been done both to the natural environment and the National heritage, not to mention what was lost during the WW ll!

@@redwine2664 To be honest its a mix of everything. Yes, we lost lots of heritage as time went by, especially during WWII.

@@thetravelinfoguide Not only that to add insult to injury, those left over red Telephone boxes, and steel Letter tubes! What an eye sore and a monument to Colonialism? Nowhere in the world countries that were former colonies, do not boast of such horror. For God's sake get rid of them. Plus the Popeye Village. What a tourist trap and a rip off. Nothing to do with Maltese culture, History and a festering wound in the environment. Completely out of place! It does not even blend with the land scape. Fun how many tourist even bother to pay! Good luck selling Malta in the near future if a little bit of care we might save what was built both in the tourist industry and our Heritage.

@@thetravelinfoguide Yes. I spend 4 weeks in Malta every winter. It costs less than heating my UK home.

@@thetravelinfoguide I’m taking my 89 year old mum. It’s one place she really wants to go and most probably her last long haul trip. We have a lot of Maltese in Australia. Been here since the end of the war and they are lovely people. It’s a hidden gem.

Malta is getting recognised quite a lot these days and yes more people are getting to know it. But, it is very surprising that many people either have not heard about Malta or do not know where it is. Thanks for your comment 😀

​@@thetravelinfoguideDepends who your target audience is. Europeans are very well aware of Malta, especially us Brits. It was a British colony from 1814 till as recently as 1964. The majority of visitors to the country are British. I'm assuming you're speaking to Americans?

@@andybaker2456 The reason of the video was to spread the word of Malta. The target audience for generic. There are quite a lot of people from Europe itself that either never hear about Malta, or have heard about it but do not know where it is. Yes, you are right most Brits are well aware of Malta due to being a British Colony for 150 years. 😃
